Today’s guest is Sonee Singh – Co-author in The Colours of Me and Embody

Sonee Singh is a cross-cultural seeker of deep knowing. She writes stories of self-discovery to encourage people to accept themselves for who they are and live life on their own terms. Her tales are of her character’s definitive moments on their life’s journey. The mystical and spiritual are integral in her storytelling, as is her multi-cultural background.

Sonee is of Indian descent, was born in Mexico, raised in Colombia, and resides in the United States. When not traveling, reading, or writing, she indulges in meditation, yoga, and aromatherapy.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Society and a Master of Management in Hospitality from Cornell University, and a Master of Science in Complementary Alternative Medicine from American College of Healthcare Sciences. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Divinity from the University of Metaphysical Sciences.

She worked in hospitality before practicing as a wellness coach. She is certified as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, International Certified Health Coach, Reiki Master, Registered Aromatherapist™, Certified Crystal Energy Guide, intuitive, and angel guide.

Her background and education often feature in her writing. Embody is the first of three books of poetry.

Kez - Let's start at the beginning Sonee and talk about your journey up to this point in time. What can you tell the audience about you and your journey?

Toni – Sonee I note that you practice wellness and are an integrated health coach, Reiki master and so much more. can you tell the audience a bit more about what these practices mean to you and how its helped or integrated into your writing?

Kez - Embody is your first foray into poetry writing. What prompted you to write Embody and what’s the poetry about?

Toni – Why poetry Sonee? What was it that drew you to that form of writing?

Kez - How does the process of writing poetry differ from writing your novels, in your experience?

Toni – Can you tell me about your creative process? I find it fascinating those writers of all genres approach their writing in different ways.

Kez – I wondered if you would like to read one of your short poems for the audience today Sonee?

Toni – One of your favorite poem is is A Poem by Ganga White – I'll read it for the audience:

What if our religion was each other?
If our practice was our life?
If prayer was our words?
What if the Temple was the Earth?
If forests were our church?
If holy water—the rivers, lakes, and oceans?
What if meditation was our relationship?
If the Teacher was life?
If wisdom was self-knowledge?
If love was the center of our being

What does this poem mean to you and why does it resonate with you so much?

Kez – What are you working on now and where can people buy your books/connect with you?
