He quickly ascended into leadership, retiring as a chief warrant officer. During his military career, he earned two Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medals, the Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the Drill Instructor Ribbon, and Global War on Terror Service Medal.
