The Arnold C. Yoder Survivors Foundation is a charitable and educational organization dedicated exclusively for the public good.
Healing hearts of children and their families grieving the loss of a loved one through art therapy, peer support groups and education. Each year, millions of young people lose a parent, sibling, or other close family member. These losses may come suddenly and unexpectedly in an automobile crash, other accidents, natural disasters, violent crime, or may be the result of a prolonged illness. While life will never be the same after a tragic loss our mission is to assist survivors embrace, channel, transform and reinvent their lives.
We also inspire survivors on both sides of tragic events achieve inner peace through forgiveness through our peer support groups, speakers bureau, one to one coaching and mediation. The Foundation recognizes that there is always two sides to every SURVIVOR story: one side is at the cause of and the other is at the impact. Both sides are effected tremendously by what happened: shame, blame, guilt, regret, anger, hate, denial are just a few of the inner torments that naturally occur. TheACY encourages forgiveness healing for oneself as well as between those who are at the cause of and those who are at the impact of tragic circumstances.
Additional practical intervention strategies will be developed over time as resources become available such as financial assistance and scholarships.
The Foundation is named after our father, Arnold C. Yoder. He died suddenly in 1981 in an automobile accident where we were hit by a drunk driver. In the car with him was his wife and our mother, Anna Diener Yoder, 2 daughters, Barbara - age 14 and Mary Elizabeth (our founder) - age 11 and 3 out of 5 sons, Hugh - age 16, Andrew - age 8 and John - age 5. Mary Elizabeth Yoder, the second daughter began an ongoing effort to regain her enthusiasm for life, and the desire to spare others the prolonged anguish that she suffered. This culminated in the formation of The Arnold C. Yoder Survivors Foundation as an outreach to other survivors and as a way to honor of her fathers life.
"Forgiving the man responsible for my father's death has been the biggest key in restoring peace in my heart." - Mary Elizabeth Yoder

Today Andrew is the internationally known host of When Pigs Fly. He is also the author of the controversial novel, When The Angels Have Risen and his noteworthy historical fiction novel, The Heretic and latest profound and eye-opening novel, SPIRIT.
When people first see Andrew they are commonly surprised by his lack of aging and youthful appearance. In the other words, they think that he is ten years (sometimes more) younger then his actual age. His response, “Well, we do come out in the daytime...”
