Max Gold – The Father of Fusion Art

www.ByMaxGold.com

Max decided that he would pay off all his debts and take care of his life by himself, on his own terms. Despite many obstacles, including recovery from alcohol and drug abuse, dyslexia, ADD and debilitating pain from Ulcerative Colitis, Max completely turned his life around during the next decade. Depending on how you frame it, the “unraveling” of Max Gold began in 1984 when a $300 million dollar real estate deal he had been working on fell apart.  The associated stress and loss of a projected $1 million sales commission sent him over the edge and deeper into alcohol & drug use and debt.  The seven months on the road in 1987, including six months on the streets of Atlanta, were part of Max hitting bottom.  From late 1987 to the early 1990’s, he continued to struggle with health and employment challenges while paying off every debt he owed friends, family and business contacts.  He would not take a handout from anyone.

Los Angeles-area artist and businessman Max Gold first introduced his bold “Fusion Art” concept at the 2001 New York International Art Expo. Through his dynamic merger of digital art and hand painting, he is known internationally as “The Father of Fusion Art.” Since gaining critical acclaim for his distinctly singular Fusion Art, Gold—now 43--has exhibited at over 100 major art festivals and expos.  In 2003, Décor Magazine named him one of the country’s “Top Emerging Artists” and he’s since been featured him on the covers of Décor and Art & Frame Magazines. His pioneering artistic signature has placed him at the vanguard of the burgeoning digital art revolution, and galleries nationwide exhibit his work. Visually, Gold’s vibrant and idiosyncratic style—distinguished by universal icons and vivid colors--evokes the best of the Pop Art tradition and 20th century masters.
