Black Lives Do Matter
Summary

This week may be different from last week. If so, then in retrospect many pundits will give you reasons why. The real reason is the mounting black anger. White America cannot possibly accept or believe a statement like: "the justifiably mounting black anger." There have been many incidents in the last week, known to important segments of the black community, but little covered in the MSM, that have added to the anger. The latest year (2015) for which US data has been compiled shows over 100 unarmed black people killed by the police. Only two convictions of police officers occurred for anything in connection with these deaths, and none of the convicted served real jail time.

BLACK LIVES DO MATTER

We are on the eve of the beginning of the Democratic National Convention Monday to Thursday July 25, – July 28, 2016. This week may be different from last week. If so, then in retrospect many pundits will give you reasons why. The real reason is the mounting black anger. White America cannot possibly accept or believe a statement like: "the justifiably mounting black anger." There have been many incidents in the last week, known to important segments of the black community, but little covered in the Main Stream Media, that have added to the anger.

The latest year (2015) for which US data has been compiled shows over 100 unarmed black people were killed by the police. Only two convictions of police officers occurred for anything in connection with these deaths, and none of the convicted served real jail time. While the figures are not in for 2016, and the year is far from complete, there is mounting evidence of white/black confrontations. This is due, in part, to the proliferation of cell phone / street / body cameras / 911 and other audio recordings and a growing body of data collection through the Internet by civilians.

Many people try to put various spins on the statistics, such as that most blacks are killed by blacks, and a higher percentage of crime is committed by blacks. All that, and much more is true, but largely irrelevant to the problem at hand and what is about to happen to American society. Some of the 'facts', such as that 81% of whites are killed by blacks, are just TOTALLY FALSE, but accurately reflect the fear, attitude and prejudice of much of white society. I am once again including these supposed statistics so that you may compare this to the Crime Statistics Bureau. (See web links)

This is NOT a political party issue, but an American attitude issue that crosses every political, religious, economic, educational boundary that one may draw. If we, as individuals, a city, a state, or a nation do not recognize this "shadow" problem exists, then we cannot eradicate and heal it. Reconstruction of our values will depend upon repentance - and repentance depends upon recognition of sin and shortcomings. I shall have to write and allow my condemnations stand - or the removal and healing process can never begin. Truly the cause of the apparent Divine Retribution that threatens America and the world is its turning away from God - but exactly what that means needs clarifying.

To be concerned with the stone, which has become a log, log in our own eye, there are multiple indicators of the failure of the American nation to love God and to be obedient to His commands - but two most immediately driving the collapse and conflict are their attitude towards the black race - and their insistence upon sovereignty.

Materialism, immorality, blasphemy, combined with the curse of Sodom and Gomorrah, along with the abortion of millions of souls - must weigh heavily upon us also - but I will not pretend to judge with the eyes of  God.

There are undoubtedly many who are struggling to find ways to ameliorate or rectify the injustices. Police training regarding dealing with the public, and particularly minorities, has greatly intensified. Simultaneously, there has been extensive acceleration of equipping the police with military gear, and training them in military tactics combined with recruitment of personnel with military experience.

The number "100 unarmed black deaths", in itself and by itself, is not even the tip of the black vs. police confrontation problem. Social media intimates the extent of the black while driving offenses, and even the black while walking offenses. The real and most pressing black discrimination problems are in unemployment and other social issues

These social problems arise from decades / centuries of white prejudices and will not be resolved by moral preaching on either side. The DNC is held in Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love, and is nearby my home area. Philadelphia is the city in which this nation was born, and now, 240 years later, seems to be up for review where this issue is concerned.

Solutions aside, for which at present, there is no time or inclination to implement, the situation is what the situation is, and is something which is very apparent to the black community, while unrecognized by almost all the white community. The result will be - what the result will be. It seems that there is no avoiding it now.

Young black men were nine times more likely than other Americans to be killed by police officers in 2015. This is a particularly interesting statement in the face of the fact that in some countries years go by where no one is killed by a police officer. On the other hand there are other countries where a great number of their citizens die from arms violence, starvation, and throughout the world there are many places where terrorism is most certainly on the rise.

Please remember the most important thing, the future is not in the hands of fate, but always within ourselves. We must trust and believe that we can all come together in oneness and stop this force with a more powerful force - that of brotherly love.

No matter who says it

I am for justice

No matter who it is for,

or against." Malcom X
