Your Internal Compass - Life Letters 179
A highly developed values system is like a compass. It serves as a guide to point you in the right direction. Idowu Koyenikan, Wealth for All
Many of us once had a vision for our lives. But life happened and we lost sight of it.
We can connect with that vision again. At times, the stress of life seems to get in the way of our seeing what is possible. Imagine sailing toward a distant island full of possibilities, when a fog surrounds you and you're unable to see where you are going. At times, our lives are like that. We feel as if we have lost our way.
Doubts and insecurities creep back into our consciousness and, for a while, that's all we think about. But at some point, the fog lifts and the clouds have moved on. And so have we. We're more determined than ever to become the person we have always wanted to be, and to live the life we have always wanted to live. We have learned from the inevitable disappointments and wrong turns, all of which have expanded us.
Finally we get to that place on our journey when we make a decision and say to ourselves, "This time finally we get to that place on our journey when we make a decision and say to ourselves, "This timeit is going to be different. I'm not limited by what happened in the past. I have an internal compass that guides me toward a life in which I am living my vision."
It's an internal compass that reminds you of who you are and what your purpose for being here is at this time. It reminds you of your values and of what is important to you. Sometimes you get knocked off course, but your internal compass enables you to be mindful of when that occurs, so you can make the necessary adjustments.
If you keep your eyes open and stay curious, there is a magical world full of possibilities waiting for you to enter. You're being guided. If you take the time to be still and to listen you'll recognize the gate sooner. Then you'll have the ability to transcend your present challenges and to see them as possibilities and opportunities rather than limitations.
Stay open to what's possible. Enjoy this great adventure, this great mystery called LIFE. It's the one you are living now. You know...that one.
To dream -again. To dare -again.
To feel enjoyment and happiness - again,
or for the first time.
To realize - this is living!
