As a personal trainer for over 20 years and battling MS for over 13 years, I bring a deep knowledge of functional, corrective & adaptive training specific to the MS and chronically conditioned community. In 2008 when I received my MS diagnosis and weighed close to 300lbs, I decided to focus on nutrition and exercise to fight the disease after I was hospitalized for 2 weeks. After one year and over 117lbs later, I realized that with proper nutrition and correct exercise methods, you can and will get stronger and healthier while fighting MS.

I'm now a Master Trainer and Co-Owner of Thrive Fitness Studio in Warren, Rhode Island alongside Lauren Smith, who also battles MS and is a Barre Instructor and Personal Trainer. We continue to help those with MS, Cerebral Palsy and other chronic conditions while providing hands on training to other certified trainers to help them better understand how to use appropriate training methods.

Utilizing my multiple certifications and education through AFAA, ACSM, ACE, NASM and NFPT, I have developed many exercise and nutrition strategies to help my clients over the years and I look forward to a continued future with Lauren by my side, training those who are chronically conditioned.

Gary Rubens is a Serial Entrepreneur, Start-Up Investor, Philanthropist and Real Estate Developer based in the Seattle area. Having started and sold 2 companies, as well as acquired and merged 5 companies, including selling ATGStores.com to Lowes in 2012.  Most recently, Gary has become President and CEO of Athlete Intelligence, a head-impact monitoring and performance tracking solution for coaches and Athletic Trainers.  Gary views everyday as a new opportunity to change the world in some way, his goal is to be a positive and inspiring addition to people’s lives.

Michelle Santana was born in Atlanta, Georgia. She spent her childhood in Atlanta and the surrounding area. She is divorced and has two adult children and two precious grandchildren. She found peace in the North Georgia Mountains where she is now with her rat terrier, Mary Jane. By writing "To Hell and Back," she has conquered her demons and has changed from the inside out into a beautiful woman. She has found happiness that resides deep in her soul. She speaks to law enforcement officers through the CIT (Crisis Intervention Team) Trainings in Georgia. She attends Georgia DBHDD (Department of Behavioral Health and Development Disability) counsel meetings and speaks about the need to provide an avenue for better mental health services to children of sexual abuse. 

Michelle has a vision to open a non- profit factory that will employ men and women recovering from mental illness, but will not re-victimize others. The factory will produce and distribute angel dolls and Aslan Lions. These toys will be given to children of abuse. The making of the toys will give an empowering effect on those involved.
