CRITICALLY-ACCLAIMED NEW RELEASE
'B L A C K R A I N'
Born 1962, Frank Van Bogaert started his music career at the age of 18 with the founding of Belgian New Wave band 1000 Ohm. In 1981 1000 Ohm scored a big international hit “A.G.N.E.S.”, today still a much-aired New Wave evergreen. By the end of the 80’s and the beginning of the 90’s Frank had also become a much in demand composer of radio commercial tunes and TV series music. This is also the time when he bought Antwerp based ACE Studio.
His management and producer skills quickly catapulted the ACE Studio from a moderate studio to one of the most reputed and busiest studios in the country. Even today, in these troubled economic times, ACE still stands strong as one of the few top of the range studio’s the country still has left. From mid-90’s on, Frank also began to release Electronic/Cinematic music under his own name. The last decade Frank has been specializing in producing rock music with a preference to Progressive rock, a music style he grew up with and has great affection for.
For those with nostalgic feelings about that warm 1000 Ohm vocal sound, it’s back, just listen to Fish on Friday’s albums.
Black Rain is Fish on Friday’s fifth and arguably strongest album up to date. As usual the production is flawless, and the songs and arrangements are well thought-out. The band, featuring Nick Beggs, Frank Van Bogaert, Marty Townsend and Marcus Weymaere, sounds tighter and punchier than ever before.
As a response to the positive reactions to Lula Beggs' vocal contributions to Fish on Friday’s previous album "Quiet Life", Lula was given a bigger guest role, now appearing on four of the eleven tracks on the album.
Black Rain, comes close (it isn't entirely) to being a concept album about the fast changing, (for some way too fast), world we live in...Our changing environment, refugees fleeing from war and global political madness. Although the album certainly has its dark sides, there is also room for sun and happiness.
As always with Fish on Friday’s artwork, the album is packaged in a beautiful 6-panel digipack with a 16 page booklet designed by Michal Karcz, which truly compliments the music to make every aspect of Black Rain a true work of art and an album for our times.

Running for DC Council in Ward 2
I am running for DC Council because I believe we deserve a leader who we can trust to serve Ward 2 with integrity and transparency.
For the last two years, I have been working on behalf of District residents as the Assistant Attorney General for Policy and Legislative Affairs for the District of Columbia. I saw how LGBTQQIA+ victims of hate crimes were left without protection or recourse in the wake of their attacks. I learned how our small business community was being taken advantage of by out of state businesses defrauding our CBE program. And, I represented DC before the National Attorney General community to advocate for statehood, decriminalized cannabis, and data privacy legislation.
To address the needs of our community, I worked to advance workers’ rights, improve environmental justice, and expand civil rights and consumer protections through everything from data breach to hate crime legislation.
I grew up in Connecticut and I am the youngest of three siblings. I attended Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, and earned my undergraduate degree in Business & Hospitality Administration. I then went on to work at a senior living community in New York where I found myself frequently feeling frustrated on behalf of my clients as I helped them navigate through their healthcare options. This led me to pursue a law degree at the Georgetown University Law Center.
During law school, I served as the Executive Articles Editor for the Journal on Poverty and Public Policy and volunteered at the Landlord Tenant Resource center providing advice to displaced tenants and aggravated landlords. I then advocated for seniors and advanced women’s health issues on Capitol Hill for Senator Blumenthal as his Health and Aging Fellow.
Knowing that I wanted to commit my career to public service, I joined the DC OAG, where I practiced law in our Tax and Finance group litigating cases on behalf of the DC Office of Tax and Revenue. I then moved on to work for Attorney General Racine on Policy, Legislative Affairs, and Legal matters where I was able to work on a broad array of issues plaguing our city.
I am deeply committed to serving the residents of DC and I want to ensure that Ward 2 has a representative on the Council whom they can trust — not only to operate ethically, but also to ensure the issues that matter most are addressed.
Through my experience representing DC residents, I was consistently inspired and impressed our community members’ commitment to equity and advancing justice. We have a lot to be proud of and a lot to work on. I want to be a partner in and advocate for that work.
I felt inspired to get in this race and ensure that an honest, fair, and devoted advocate is at the table. I would be honored and humbled to have your support.

COLLABORATES WITH
'O R L E A N S' LEGEND JOHN HALL
EXCLUSIVE!
Thirty years ago, John Hall of Orleans met Jonell Mosser, queen of the Bluebird in Nashville. They immediately wrote a song together, a collaboration that caught fire when Johanna Hall came into the mix. They wrote dozens of songs over the next decade.
As a duo, John and Jonell did some memorable gigs in Woodstock. Recently, a cassette of one of those shows—an acoustic duo show at the Bearsville Theater in 1994—surfaced from a neglected drawer. A lost gem, the performances were so stellar, the songs so new they still had dew on them. Twenty-five years later, after Johanna digitized and edited it, that performance is finally released to the public as Little Black Dress.
Jonell Mosser’s first record was Around Townes, a collection of songs by Townes Van Zandt. She then came to the attention of producer Don Was (Bonnie Raitt, Waylon Jennings, Rolling Stones) who cut an album with her. He also put together the band New Maroons which performed at Farm Aid with Jonell singing in front of Benmont Tench, Mark Goldenberg, Was, and Ringo Starr. Two CDs--So Like Joy and Enough Rope--were released on Hall’s Siren Songs label, followed by Trust Yourself (Better Angels) and Fortunes Lost, Fortunes Told (Brother’s Mother’s Music).
Singing in venues large and small, touring the US and Japan with Orleans, Delbert McClinton, and other, Jonell has seen her audience grow. She’s sung studio vocals for B.B. King, Trisha Yearwood, Jesse Winchester, Etta James, Wynona, Rodney Crowell, Vince Gill, Waylon Jennings, Patty Smythe, A.J. Croce, Bruce Cockburn….
John Hall’s written songs for Janis Joplin, Bonnie Raitt, Ricky Skaggs, Steve Wariner, and James Taylor. He’s played guitar on tours and records with Little Feat, Taj Mahal, Jackson Browne, and Seals and Crofts. His music and environmental activism led him to 10 years in elective office. Now, back to music full time, he writes songs and performs solo and with Orleans.
"Listen to Jonell Mosser just once in concert and you'll be an instant believer. She sings with all-out passion and heart. No frills. No games. Just a soulful intensity that makes you realize you're in the presence of the real thing."
