Dr. Maryel McKinley is a multi-talented Doctor of Philosophy in Metaphysical Counseling, and is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
Dr. Maryel is the former co-host-addictions expert, Co-producer and promoter of All TalK Recovery Radio on 97.1 Fm KLSX with arbitron ratings #1 for its time slot for talk radio. Up against music, rock n roll and other programming, the show ranked #9 against 119 stations in Southern California, within the first 13 weeks on the air. Dr. Maryel also co-hosted & produced "Back-Talk", on KABC A.M. talk radio in Los Angeles.
Dr. Maryel has been asked to appear on several television shows and has been interviewed on several radio shows. Dr. Maryel was contacted by the producers of Oprah to appear as an addictions expert in 2003.
Dr. Maryel was recruited by Deepak Chopra and signed a contract as a faculty member with Dr. Chopra's new multi-media organization called "My Potential". Her participation with My Potential is as the official addictions specialist in 2000.
She is the winner of the 1996-97 West Publishing Corpus Juris Secundum Award for scholastic excellence, which is the foremost legal publishing house in the world.
Has been a feature writer for regional and national magazines for the past 15 years, including monthly columns in Steps for Recovery Newspaper & Awareness Magazine, and has had over 200 articles published in magazines across the country.
Dr. McKinley has been the featured speaker at national and international conventions including the International Metaphysical Convention, the CALA convention, and has presented her work on addictions and alcoholism at the esteemed NCADD.
She is the Co-founder of Yellowstone Women's indigent detox in Costa Mesa, CA.

Dr. McKinley's career as an entertainer started in 1978 with the Ice Capades Show Continental Company, where Maryel skated professionally on the national tour. After a short stint as the 25th Anniversary Silver Playboy Bunny at the Century City Playboy club, she obtained her Screen Actors Guild Card and starred in movies such as the international Hit "California Girls" and "Boarding House" opposite Brian Brolin (James Brolin's brother). She appeared in "Homework" with Joan Collins and has been featured in commercials, MTV videos and Movies of the Week. In 1984 Maryel moved to London, England and modeled internationally; then returned to New York City for a career in modeling and in the music industry. Dr. McKinley is also an accomplished violinist, keyboardist and songwriter and worked in New York as a studio musician and songwriter throughout the 1980's. Dr. Maryel, as a classically trained musician, is discovering the freedom and healing power of music via improvisational vocals, songwriting, and violin playing. After her personal bout with drug addiction and life in the fast lane, Dr. McKinley settled down, gave birth to her only son, and went back to school to become a professional therapist. She now devotes her life to spreading a message of love, healing and recovery to the mass public through the avenue of the mass media. Dr. McKinley's contribution to the field of addiction and recovery and is an inspiration, as she continues to write, lecture and counsel those who are suffering from the disease of alcoholism and addiction.
