Faith Connection with Dr David Miller

Guests, Dr Edward Creagan, oncologist and Carl David, fine arts dealer and author, discussing suicide prevention

Today we are honoring our Veterans in appreciation for all that they’ve done for us, and we’ll also be discussing some of the detrimental challenges that they are faced with.

Today we discuss avoiding desperation and unhappy moments in life and in retirement. We talk about the suicides of famous clothing designer, Kate Spade, and chef and TV personality, Anthony Bourdain. We also address the significant portion of the population that feels desperate about their financial circumstances – especially when it comes to inadequate planning for retirement.

How many people have attempted suicide by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge and survive to talk about it? Not many. Our guest and first-time author, Kevin Hines, did survive and now has found a reason for living after years of suffering without help from 'bipolar disorder with psychotic features'.

My two guests both have the same goal, helping elders to feel more connected, less lonely or depressed. But their efforts take very different forms. Dr. Carol Osborne is a veterinarian who works to keep both animals and their human companions healthy.
