Lorie Gurnett is an award-winning author, coach and speaker who helps support first responders’ families and individuals through community to fight trauma, PTSD, depression, suicidal thoughts, combatting fear, and discovering their true identity in Christ.
Lorie struggled to believe she was worth anything. As a young lady, she doubted herself at every turn, felt invisible, and worthless. She even contemplated suicide. Today with new found knowledge, Lorie strives for the value of the human heart. She believes everyone have value and nobody is invisible.
She is the founder of Kingdom Definers, which serves young adults who struggle with their identity and value. She and her husband Merv are blessed with two encouraging children and live in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada.
Lorie says
In high school I used to write poetry, my mom encouraged me to enter a poetry contest and was published. Several years later I started writing my first book and reading it to my kids before bed. My daughter was my inspiration to finish it. She kept telling me that I had to finish the story, she needed to know what happens. While editing my first book, I have 9 people close to me die in that year, 2018. The battle with grief, suicidal thoughts, and identity are ingrained in this first story as my family and I grew, struggled, and triumphed on the other side. My book Treasure Kingdom was published Sept 7 2019 through Author Academy Elite. In October 2020, Treasure Kingdom won the best Fantasy of the year boom of Merit in the 2020 Author Elite Awards. I publish my second book in the series Unbroken Kingdom in 2021. This story brings you on a journey through abuse, unforgiveness, anger, and learning to stand where it has already been burnt. I want people to know they are seen, valued, and chosen.

Don’t allow fear to hold you in bondage. Find your courage as you face your fears.
Will fear and unforgiveness plunge Robert into self-destruction or motivate him to forgive, stand firm, and triumph over adversity?
