Mila Figg is a Mechanical Engineer, MBA, artist, and owner of Mila Inspired LLC. She spent over a decade working in aerospace and defense before following her lifelong passion for storytelling and wildlife. Born in Kenya, Mila has always loved elephants—their wisdom, strong family bonds, and the way female leaders guide their herds.
This love inspired her first children’s book, The Little Elephant’s Big Adventure – A Heartwarming Serengeti Adventure Story. The story follows baby elephant Amara as she explores the Serengeti, learning courage, kindness, and leadership. Much like The Lion King introduced a lion king to a generation, Mila’s book introduces children to an Elephant Queen, offering a fresh way to teach bravery, empathy, and inclusivity.
Through her books and hands-on, screen-free products like ABC Safari Flashcards, plush elephants, magnetic puzzles, and stickers, Mila helps children explore African wildlife, culture, and conservation. Her mission is to spark curiosity, celebrate diversity, and inspire the next generation of leaders while raising awareness about elephants and their habitats.
Mila Figg grew up in Kenya, surrounded by wildlife and rich culture, dreaming big from a young age. At 19, she moved to the United States, stepping into a new country, a new culture, and a path that would test her resilience. With grit and determination, she broke into engineering—a field dominated by men—and worked as a Structural Analysis Engineer on airplanes like the Airbus A380 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
Even while building a technical career, Mila never let go of her love for storytelling and elephants. She turned her passion into Mila Inspired LLC, creating children’s books, screen-free learning tools, and elephant-themed gifts. Her first book, The Little Elephant’s Big Adventure–A Heartwarming Serengeti Adventure Story, follows Amara, a baby elephant learning courage, kindness, and leadership in the Serengeti. Mila’s series introduces children to an Elephant Queen, celebrating bravery, inclusivity, and the beauty of African wildlife and culture.
She has traveled the world, cherishes inclusivity, and inspires children to explore curiosity, courage, and kindness. Mila plans to continue expanding the Little Elephant’s Big Adventure series and write more books with stories about entrepreneurship, female leadership, and new adventures to spark imagination.
