Victoria M. Young is a mother of two, a doctor of veterinary medicine, and a long-time advocate for public schools. She is a parent who spent 20 years of service in classrooms, on school committees, and in her community devoting a large part of her life to fighting for quality public education for ALL children. She has organized fundraisers and efforts to save our schools through policies and practices.

In her own voice . . . “As a long-time advocate and activist for better education for the children of my own impoverished community, my objective now is to help people understand the need for each of us to become a force in pushing for excellence and equality within the institution we call the public education system.

Regrettably, many people do not grasp the concept of equality in educational opportunity thus making it impossible to explain the “what” and “how” of real education “reform” in America. But that is what I continue to try and do.

Educating my community about education, establishing better communications of ideas and results, promoting science education, and assisting in developing a plan for my schools to improve was where I began. In the process, I learned first-hand about the pitfalls and failures that others before me had also experienced. To say there have been no mistakes would be to deny a chance to learn.

I became a writer not to write a book, but to help demystify the failures of education reform in hopes of preventing those same mistakes in the future.

Her book 'The Crucial Voice of the People, Past and Present: Education's Missing Ingredient' is a call to action for America's citizens to stop being passive and take back our public education and schools.

'The Crucial Voice' explains the most commonly heard complaints from the public about their schools and puts them in the context of solutions. It is based on the premise that we have the answers to what ails public schools but we fail to understand how politics and policies have adversely affected classroom practices. Young presents important insights into what can be done to “fix” America’s public education system. This is Inelia’s first incarnation on any planet, born free from self-importance, attachments, personal agendas, personal evolution, or a desire for soul advancement. She arrived knowing only that the planet needed to vibrate at a higher level in order to undergo a global ascension. What she did not know was how to assist in raising the vibration and how to communicate the need for a higher vibration to others. Initially, Inelia tried emulating other people’s actions by getting married, having children, and learning about human suffering. Although this gave her a deeper understanding of what others considered important, it did not assist in reaching the aim of global ascension.  

In January 2010, she received a request from Source to “go public as a person” in order to promote the message of empowerment and sovereignty to the masses. Emerging from anonymity, she became a messenger of personal and global ascension. Over the next three years, she worked tirelessly to explore, investigate, develop, and disseminate tools, including meditations and exercises, that were quick, mystery-free, and highly effective — tools used by hundreds of thousands of people to achieve personal ascension and, in so doing, to contribute to the goal of global ascension.

About Alan Watts

Early Years

Alan Watts was born in London in 1915, at the start of the first World War. At a young age he became fascinated with the Far East, and at fourteen he began to write and was published in the Journal of the London Buddhist Lodge before writing his first booklet on Zen in 1932. He moved to New York in 1938 and then to Chicago, where he served as an Episcopal priest for six years before leaving the Church. In 1950, he moved to upstate New York before going on to San Francisco to teach at the Academy of Asian Studies. Among Alan Watts' earliest influences were the novelist Sax Rohmer and Zen scholars D.T. Suzuki and Christmas Humpreys. In late 1950, he visited with Joseph Campbell and composer John Cage in NYC.

Worldview

Alan Watts was profoundly influenced by the East Indian philosophies of Vedanta and Buddhism, and by Taoist thought, which is reflected in Zen poetry and the arts of China and Japan. After leaving the Church, he never became a member of another organized religion, and although he wrote and spoke extensively about Zen Buddhism, he was criticized by American Buddhist practicioners for not sitting regularly in zazen. Alan Watts responded simply by saying, "A cat sits until it is done sitting, and then gets up, stretches, and walks away."

1950's and early '60's

After teaching at the Academy of Asian Studies in San Francisco, he became Dean and began to give regular radio talks on KPFA, the Berkeley free radio station. In 1957, he published his bestselling Way of Zen, and in 1958 returned to Europe where he met with C.G. Jung. He was an early subject in pioneering psychedelic trials, and, after recording two seasons of the public television series Eastern Wisdom and Modern Life, traveled to Japan several times in the early sixties. By the late sixties, he had become a counterculture celebrity, and traveled widely to speak at universities and growth centers across the US and Europe.

Later Years

By the early seventies, Alan Watts had become a foremost interpreter of Eastern thought for the West, and was widely published in periodicals including Earth, Elle, Playboy, and Redbook. He appeared on CBS television's Camera Three in 1969, and in 1971 he recorded a pilot for a new show titled A Conversation with Myself for NET, the precursor to PBS. When the series was not produced, he recorded the shows with his son Mark and his long-time audio archivist Henry Jacobs in 1972. Overall, Alan Watts developed an extensive audio library of nearly 400 talks and wrote more than 25 books during his lifetime, including his final volume, Tao: The Watercourse Way. Alan Watts died in his sleep in November of 1973, after returning from an intensive international lecture tour.
