Bronx History Collaborative Project - a Model for the Nation

Please join Internet radio host Dr. James Avington Miller Jr. for a glimpse into the Bronx History Collaborative Project. Joining us for this show will be Dr. Mark Naison and Aixa Rodriguez, Fordham alumnus and teacher at Fannie Lou Hamer Freedom High School in the Bronx.

This project is a joint collaboration between Fordham University Bronx African American History Project, and the Bronx Consortium High Schools. The project connects the university with public school teachers and students and is a model for project-based teaching and learning for the nation. This is a return to sane practices and healthy community collaboration.

"Aixa Rodriguez and Dr. Naison were able to combine forces and to create the Bronx History Collaborative, which is an umbrella term for the two courses they teach and is a representation of what these two Bronx schools are trying to accomplish. 'It’s trying to break down the walls between Fordham, and local schools,' said Naison."

Please check out the project's Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/BronxHistoryCollaborative/

Please tune in this Sunday and learn about this great project and perhaps be inspired to begin a collaboration like this in your own community.

Radio Host/amateur astrophysics and geophysics researcher

RICK CHICAGO (AKA Earthplay) is an amateur astrophysics and geophysics researcher. A former Fire Safety officer for NASCAR, and a former Hot Air balloon operator for the last 5 or 6 years, Rick has studied the anomolies in our solar system and the events of the ever changing earth and its cycles and has come to some chilling results.

Rick's weekly coverage on Liberation Nation radio show has given him a reputation as a straight talker about topics to do with coming earth changes. His specialities include the methane hydrate eruptions now taking place, the fukushima extinction level event and the earthquake cycles attributed to inner magma movements within the earth. WE EXPLORE

No man can fully grasp how far and how fast we have come as a planetary species, but condense, if you will, the 50,000 years of man's recorded history in a short two hour event, The Terraforming Earth Show comes close ... We aim to cover as much of the ancient knowledge, the hidden stories and the forbidden news unreported by Mainstream Media (aka Lamestream Media) as possible.

WE REPORT

Our team of skeptics and Press officials can dig in deep into any story to find out the facts and bring them to the enquiring publics attention. Nobody else today quite speaks the same breadth and scope of topics in one singular online radio show.

WE DEVELOP

We are contantly developing a formatted show with topics, call in time and Special Guests to constantly improve the quality and quantity of valuable information and invited speakers to the show. Listen in and be amazed.

Universal Soul Love Guest, Sacha Stone June 02, 2015
Founder of the New Earth Project, Humanitad, and the International Tribunal for Natural Justice

Former rock musician Sacha is founder of the New Earth Project, the planetary sovereignty, consciousness and sustainability movement convening itself as the worlds first extraterritorial nation of peoples from all cultures & faiths. New Earth nationals are living men and women (not their corporate fiction personas) who choose to step out of invisible contracts with corporate nation states and into a new covenant of fellowship amongst all of humankind, via a declaration of sovereignty (and entering into treaty thereby with New Earth Nation as constituted micro-nations). The supranational movement exists under its own cognisance, as its own court of record and is backed up by its own law commission and the International Tribunal for Natural Justice. The New Earth Project is launching a zero-point economy and has recently launched Zero Point Time (ZPT) as a unified time signature.

Sacha Stone established Humanitad as a non sectarian organisation serving as architect and facilitator of global initiatives impacting sustainability, natural justice and social ecology. It is a focus platform for experts in economics, media, education, science & technology, research & advocacy, arts & culture and diplomacy & conflict-resolution. It's law commission has been active on the world stage in human rights and natural justice. Humanitad has increasingly transferred its brain-trust activities into the New Earth Nation Institute which now incubates medical cures and technological breakthroughs whilst challenging the status quo where it serves vested interests ahead of the interests of humanity and a fragile planet. As a non-profit organisation, Humanitad continues to function in the service of people of the world beyond the constraints of 'systems' and 'ideologies' devised by men and institutions which seek power and wealth as the measure by which all else follows.

Whilst being radically outspoken against the centralisation of power and of multilateral institutional manipulation, in order to enter the multilateral arena and attempt to engage with the mechanics of centralised power, Sacha Stone produced the MDG Awards ceremony on the floor of the General Assembly at the United Nations in 2009. It was at this event where Archbishop Desmond Tutu propounded the word Ubuntu, which is fast becoming a major pattern for international socio-ecological reform.

Accepting the role of Director-General for the UN-IGO (IREO) Intergovernmental Renewable Energy Organisation in 2010 for the period of one year, Stone founded and launched the Exemplar-Zero Initiative, to safe-harbour and develop breakthrough sustainable technologies and solutions and investigate sustainable economics modelling. None of these endeavours were 'United Nations' activities, rather they were initialised by Stone and Humanitad in order to address foundational failings within the architecture of the multilateral arena.

Sacha chairs the annual Global Breakthrough Energy Movement panels of scientists and innovators - a pioneering movement which is leading the world toward a free-energy revolution.

His socio-political writings  and 'State of the World' reports serve as a harsh critique on the disease of globalisation and covert elitism (the architecture of fear and control).

At the same time he emphasises the need for a conscious return (via a total collapse of the collective human conceptual framework) back into the true 'zero-point' contained within the quanta of the (collective) human heart - in order for us to qualify and participate fully in the next great step in our human and planetary evolution. The New Earth Nation now emerges as a coherent living manifestation of that unified planetary vision.

"If we are to manifest so-called ‘ ustainability' and foster a much vaunted energy & socio-ecological revolution in our times, we must acknowledge that participatory 'consciousness' is the chief factor. Technology and consciousness are intimately connected and it is time for us to engage that conversation without fear of scorn from a world still largely trapped in linear logic and the limitations of a conditioned mind. The fear-reflexive, entropic and scarcity-based model of civilisation has lived its day - brought us to the brink of annihilation. It is time to spread our wings - stop asking for permission - and reclaim our dignity and sovereign birthright from rogue governments and institutions whose very existence is premised on our suffering, our fear and our ignorance. Arise homo-sapiens"

Life Changes Show Guest, Dr Roxanne Moschetti June 01, 2015
Assistant Professor, Psychologist

GUEST: DR. ROXANNE MOSCHETTI

Dr. Roxanne Moschetti was born in Northern California in the late 70’s. She was the oldest of three and served as a segregate parent to her younger sister and brother from the time they were born. Due to extensive neglect during her childhood, education was not a priority for her. Homelessness, frequent relocation, and family instability led to failing grades in school. At the age of 13, Roxanne had attended seven different schools and carried a .87 GPA. In an out of shelters and foster care, Roxanne and her siblings were finally removed from their mothers care when she was 13. Roxanne knew at that point that she never again wanted to experience the stress and pandemonium that her family had endured over the past 13 years. With this in mind, she started to look at her childhood as a learning experience rather than a hardship. Experiencing these situations helped her recognize the importance of early prevention and assistance for families that struggle with poverty and addiction.

At the age of 17, Roxanne set out to be the first in my family to attend college and enrolled in classes at Shasta Community College. She later transferred into California State University, Chico where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. While in college she took over legal guardianship of her younger and sister and brother who would remain living with her until she later applied to graduate school. Against all odds, Roxanne eventually received her Ph.D. and Master’s degree in Child and Adolescent Development from University of California, Santa Barbara. She began teaching as an Assistant Professor at California State University, Northridge in 2008. Her current research focuses on the impact of social networks on underrepresented impoverished college students experiences. Roxanne spends her free time volunteering with homeless youth in the community and is currently writing a memoir about her personal experiences from growing up homeless to eventually earning her Ph.D.

Unspeakable

by Chris Hedges, David Talbot (With)

Hedges here speaks up about the most pressing issues that currently face our nation. He tackles the rise of a fascist right in support of Donald Trump, which advocates xenophobia and violence in a push for American totalitarianism. He rails against the posturing of inclusivity from establishment elites on both sides of the aisle, who post-Occupy-Wall-Street continue to advocate for policies that make America uninhabitable for all but the ultra-rich and, as lackeys for corporate interests, continue to expand income inequality in all directions. He tears into the contemporary glamorization of the military and the unchecked, unchallenged hawkishness that defines contemporary American foreign policy. Moreover, he shows his support for contemporary revolts against this twisted order—such as Black Lives Matter—that represent Americans refusing to take the destruction of their country lying down. And that’s just the start.

He possesses a clear understanding of the challenges that lie before us, and has proven to be ahead of the curve time and again. All of which is to say, Chris Hedges is unafraid to say what is necessary and true—and has always been. If we are to combat the intellectual and moral decay that have come to grip American life, we must listen to him and the urgent message he brings in this book.

The War Report on Public Education Guest, Dr Lori Latrice Martin May 31, 2015
Associate Professor at Louisiana State University, Author, Education Activist

Dr. Lori Latrice Martin is Associate Professor of Sociology and African and African American Studies at Louisiana State University. Dr. Martin's newest book is 'Big Box Schools: Race, Education, and the Danger of the Wal-Martization of Public Schools in America (Race and Education in the Twenty-First Century'.

The American public school system is at a crossroad. One pathway is decorated with signs and institutions that will lead public education towards a destination of collective obligation, accountability, and responsibility that is student-centered, community-based, and driven by educators and parents working in the best interest of students, families, communities, and the broader society. The other pathway is littered with pamphlets, flyers, and electronic billboards falsely advertising the merits of school “choice.” The direction American public schools appear to have taken over the past few decades is increasingly dotted with charter schools operated by for-profit multinational corporations, and themed public schools. Increasingly, efforts to reform public education in America resemble the business model made popular by the founder of Wal-Mart, Sam Walton.

'Big Box Schools: Race, Education, and the Danger of the Wal-Martization of Public Schools in America' examines the dangers of the Wal-Martization of American public schools and highlights efforts to challenge policies and practices which place greater emphasis on profits than on pupils.

Reviews of her book:

"Dr. Lori Martin's brilliantly researched book, Big Box Schools: Race, Education, and the Danger of the Wal-Martization of Public Schools in America, is going to blow the cover off the 'close ranks' rationale for defending Obama Administration education policy among scholars in Black Studies, as well as all education scholars who have the courage to listen. It eloquently describes the severe price for replacing schools which were community institutions with 'pop-up schools' (Dr. Martin's brilliant term) run by fly-by-night staffs beholden to corporate interests rather than the students and families they claim to serve." (Mark Naison, Fordham University)

"Dr. Martin makes the troubled history of education policy in this country accessible to a variety of disciplines. She talks candidly about racism in education and the United States’ long-standing tradition of marginalizing students, teachers, and families of color. The case studies are a wakeup call to push back against those who profit from so-called ‘education reform.’ She is asking us to stand up and fight against those who purchase a seat in policy and practice decisions when they have no expertise to offer. After reading this book, I am prepared to stand up and fight." (Joshua S. Smith, Loyola University Maryland)
