For over 25 years, Heather Tobin has been a nationally recognized mental health advocate. After receiving her Master of Communication from Emerson College, Heather began working as a public outreach speaker for NAMI to end the stigma of mental illness in young adults. She has been featured on the cover of BP Hope Magazine, as well as interviewed by local and national publications including Health Central and Bring Change 2 Mind. As a podcaster and documentary program writer and producer, Heather has created content shining a light on living with chronic illness including her bipolar disorder and major depression. Her latest blog, “The House That Grief Built,” chronicles her story of recovery after a devastating divorce and loss of her cousin by suicide. Heather is and avid crafter, musician, and animal lover living in Maine.

Karen Tobin is graduate of Rhode Island School of Design with over 20 years of experience in graphic design, photo editing, illustration and book design. Karen has worked with government agencies and with private organizations and clients to create books and publications that have gone on to win awards. After years of managing multiple projects for clients, Karen’s desire is to apply this experience to the mental health world and be an advocate for increased awareness and improvement in the recognition and treatment of mental illness. Karen currently works as a project manager and resides in Annapolis, Maryland.
