Ep203, How To Have Gods Life Living In You, Part 101, Seeing Jesus Through Hebrews, Worship, and the Sustaining Power of the Word
Six-Paragraph Summary
A Prayer for God’s Word to Take Over the Message
Tony Alamo opens program 203 as part 101 of “How to Have God’s Life Living in You.” He explains that listeners can receive the program, Bibles, literature, tapes, and related materials free of charge. He then prays that God will take over his vessel, mouth, and tongue so the program will teach listeners how to be saved and how to have God living in them. The opening prayer uses the image of a wise man building on solid rock, which Alamo identifies as reading and doing the Word of God.
Letters from Zambia, Mexico, and India
The program includes letters from Zambia, Mexico, and India. A writer from Mansa, Zambia praises the ministry’s literature and asks for Bibles, literature, and possible help with a church building, explaining that the congregation is using a school classroom. Alamo responds by describing the humble beginnings of his own ministry in a former dope den and advises gratitude for any place to preach. A brief letter from Tabasco, Mexico praises the radio messages, while a letter from India thanks the ministry for newsletters and Bibles used in evangelism.
Remembering the Early Hippie Church
In response to the Zambia letter, Alamo tells a long story about the early days of his ministry with Sue. He describes preaching in a former dope den, seeing hippies and drug users converted, and being known as a “hippie church.” He says the converts were filled with the Holy Spirit and describes conflict with police officers who misunderstood what was happening. He also recounts seeking support from churches, missions, and supermarkets, and says the ministry began with little but eventually expanded after years of struggle.
Hebrews and the Desire to See Jesus
The main teaching section shifts to the book of Hebrews, centered on the phrase “Sir, I would see Jesus.” Sharon reads prepared material about Hebrews, and Alamo expands on it by saying the book helps believers see Jesus more clearly. He teaches that Jesus is the wisdom and power of God, the author and finisher of faith, and the one on whom faith depends from start to finish. He also repeats his view that Paul wrote Hebrews, while saying the true author is Jesus because the Word of God is divine.
Worship, the Word, and the New Covenant
Alamo teaches that worship depends on focusing on God’s Word, which he describes as God’s majesty, power, sacrifice for sin, and sustaining force. He says Christ’s intercession allows believers to enter God’s presence and rejects the idea that Mary can serve as an intercessor. The sermon also contrasts the old covenant with the new covenant, arguing that Jesus, as the superior and enduring high priest after the order of Melchizedek, opened the heavenly sanctuary and gives believers sustaining power through the Word.
The Humanity of Jesus and the Closing Salvation Prayer
The final portion emphasizes Hebrews 2, especially the claim that Jesus took part in human flesh and blood. Alamo uses this to argue against ministers who say Jesus had “the blood of God,” saying instead that Jesus had human flesh and human blood while being upheld by the Spirit. He teaches that Christ’s death broke the devil’s power and made it possible for believers to overcome sin through God’s Spirit. The program closes with a salvation prayer, a request for listeners to report if they were saved, and Sharon’s instructions for receiving tape number 203.

Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Hello again. This is World Pastor Tony Alamo. Today we are on part 101 of “How to Have God’s Life Living in You,” and this is program number 203.
We will tell you how to receive a copy of this program at the end of the program. You can get your paper and pencil ready so you can take down the four different ways there are to receive the program. It is absolutely free, and we pay for postage and handling as well. If you need a Bible, we will send you one as well. That is also free of charge, with postage and handling paid for, along with literature, tapes, and Asia books.
Right now, let us go to the throne of the Lord.
Lord, I ask You to anoint this program. Let everything that is said in the program be not from me, but from You. Lord, take my vessel over, my mouth, my tongue, and let the people know what it is that they need to do in order to be saved and to have You living in them.
Let them know what it is that You want us to do. You stated that a wise man builds his house on strong ground, on the solid rock in other places. That solid rock, or the solid ground, is Your Word: to read it and do what it says. But a fool is one who reads the Word and does not do what it says. That is like building himself a hut on top of the ground. When the winds, or the persecution, trials, and tribulations come, the hut is utterly destroyed.
You bought us with Your precious blood. You took all of our former sins away, and then You tell us to go and sin no more. Then there are false prophets today, Lord, who are telling people to go and sin some more. But You tell them that if they do, it is like a dog going back to its vomit, or a pig, a sow, going back to wallowing in the mire.
I thank and praise You, Lord, for Your Word and for the ability for us to communicate with You on a daily basis, that we are able to be led by Your Spirit, because You help us in a time of need. Help me now, Lord, in a time of need. Take me completely over so that this church can be strengthened and souls can be saved.
In Jesus’ mighty name, and in the mighty name of Jesus, and You, Father, are Jesus, the Spirit that was in Jesus the Man. Now You, the Man Jesus, have been exalted above every creature on the face of this earth or in heaven. You were made a little lower than the angels for a while, just for a brief while, thirty-three and a half years, the last year being the worst. Yet You endured, seeing what was laid out before Your eyes before even the foundation of the world.
Thank You, Father. Thank You, Jesus. We ask it in Jesus’ name.
Speaker 3 – Congregation / Audience:
Amen.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Amen.
All right, now we have some letters as well. Where is the first letter from?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
From Zambia, Africa.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Thank you. Read it.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
“Dear Tony Alamo, praise the Lord. I pray that everything is well with you. Everything is well with me. My soul magnifies the Lord God, and my spirit has rejoiced in Jesus, my Savior.
“When I hear the name Tony Alamo, I immediately think of the author who is known for his ability to put profound biblical truth in readable, understandable, and memorable language. This ability is on display in the booklet called ‘The Messiah’ and newsletters.
“I have seen your passion for communicating the truth of God’s Word to people of all ages. You do not forget how it was before you got saved. That is why you are able to help many so they come to the Lord Jesus Christ.
“Your ministry is stationed near the door to help those who are blindly groping for the door out of their sin, loneliness, fear, guilt, anxiety, and agony. I will be so happy if you send literature, Bibles, and whatever you are able to send to help me win souls. I pray this to be on a regular basis. The need is great.
“I do not know if you can help us with a church building, because the souls are many, and we are just using a school classroom. My needs include anything which is necessary for life, but I always look on your burden of preaching to the whole world.”
Yours in Christ, Brother Lupambo, from Mansa, Zambia, Africa.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
The Lord is the author of the Bible. A lot of people dispute whether it was the Apostle Paul who wrote the book of Hebrews, but it was Paul whom God used to write that book. He was the author of the literature that I have written as well. To God be the glory. Amen.
We will do as much as we can. You ought to be happy that you have a classroom to preach and teach the gospel in, because when Sue and I first started, we did not have anything but an old shack. The first church we had was a former dope den. We went in there and preached the gospel to all of them upon their invitation. We would never have gone over unless they invited us.
We won two or three souls from that dope den. Then they said that if they flushed all the pot and pills down the toilet, would we come over and preach the gospel, because there were a bunch of them living over there. We said, “Sure, if you will do that and if you will abide by what we are telling you.” We did not allow any talking during the services, but if they had any questions, we would answer the questions after the service.
They agreed, so we went over there, and every soul, every single soul in that big house was saved. A revival kicked off in that house. Then we were overflowing with people in there. We gave them some little gospel pieces of literature and sent them down to invite people to come to services. They were all hippies, so they were able to communicate very well with the other hippies on the streets. Pretty soon, we were known for having the hippie church.
They began getting filled with the Holy Spirit, and police officers came over. They thought they were on some new kind of drug and started beating them over the head with billy clubs and flashlights. They were so under the anointing that they did not even know they were being beaten up.
Sue and I went in and told them, “No, they are not on drugs. They are filled with the Holy Spirit.” These were a bunch of Irish Catholic cops, and they did not even know what we were talking about. We told them to read the book of Acts in the Bible, and if they wanted, we would read it to them and explain what was happening here. This is a supernatural thing going on in this church, in this house. They hauled a bunch of us off to jail: Sue, myself, and a bunch of these young hippie converts, born-again Christians filled with the Spirit.
We took them around to different churches and missions in an attempt to get them to donate some finances to us because nobody liked these people. People were praying for a revival, and because it turned out to be a bunch of hippies and drug addicts, they did not want to accept them. They wanted them to have haircuts before they accepted them, to wear real nice clothing, drive new cars, live in nice homes, and have full bellies. But we knew they were of the Lord, and therefore we took them around.
A couple of places were benevolent, but most did not want anything to do with them. Some gave us enough money to pay the rent for a month. Sue and I would go to the back of supermarkets and tell them, “Look, we are winning all these hippies to the Lord. These drug addicts are coming off drugs. If you have any day-old stuff that you want to get rid of, we would surely appreciate it because we have several hundred of them over there.”
Then it built up to many hundreds of them. Some supermarkets were favorable and would give us loaves of bread. Then we would scrape up enough money somewhere.
After I had made millions and millions of dollars, even at that time I owned a Beatles album that had never been released. I received it from the first original drummer of the Beatles because I did a promotion for him. I actually did his promotion and got several million pounds for him. Later on, I did a promotion for a singer named Robon, and we got enough money out of that to buy a home in Zuma Beach.
There is so much to talk about regarding the former things I did, but it is not really necessary. I am just saying how we started out. We did not have a classroom. We had an old dope den, and before that we had nothing. We just went out on the streets and witnessed and testified. Souls were saved, and we were praying many of them through every day on the streets.
So if you have a classroom, or a house, or something, be happy and praise and thank the Lord for it. Just keep going on, and God will open doors for finances in other ways. We never had anybody give us any large amount of money except later on, around 1968 or 1969, when Elvis Presley gave us some money because I knew Elvis before, and I knew a lot of people in the entertainment industry. He gave it to us anonymously: forty thousand dollars. He also gave us seven hundred dollars one time when we needed money for rent.
So when I get these letters from people who want us to finance their churches, I remember that we have been going at this for almost forty-one and three-quarters years. Only as of recent, maybe two years ago, did the Lord start pouring finances in and out to where we could share some of the money we had with others, such as people who are poor and needy here in the United States, Africa, India, the Philippines, and several other places. We are at around two hundred countries now.
If you will just allow the Lord to let you go through the fire, what fire would you possibly go through if I went and got you a church and paid for it? The money we have is for winning souls, and we will definitely send you all the Bibles you need, along with literature and tapes.
Now where is the next letter from?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
Mexico.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Where in Mexico?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
From Tabasco, Mexico.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Tabasco, Mexico. Okay. Let us see what they have to say.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
“Pastor Alamo, I like to listen to your messages because this is how God speaks to our lives.”
From Pedro in Tabasco, Mexico.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Praise the Lord. He listens to the radio program, I guess. All right. Praise the Lord.
Now what else?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
From India.
“Dear Brother Tony Alamo, greetings to you in the almighty name of our Lord Jesus. Thank you for your parcel. I have received your newsletters and Bibles. Thank you so much. I have been distributing your newsletters. It was a tremendous job that your newsletters and books touched the hearts, and people asked more questions about Christ. Once again, thank you for them.”
Your brother in Christ, Davi, from CB India.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Praise the Lord. I had millions of questions to ask about the Bible. Every time I read the Bible, and this is after forty-one and three-quarters years, I keep learning more and more. There is no way people are going to be able to know the entire truth, which is Jesus, which is the entire Bible, for years. That is why the Lord keeps it interesting.
Every time you prayerfully read the Bible, you are going to get something new. Sometimes the Lord tells me to read somewhere, and I say, “Lord, I just got through reading there,” but I do it anyway. “Nevertheless, Lord, I will read there.” It always seems like the Lord opens something new to me every time.
Okay. Now here is Sharon to read something that I just did on tape today, and they typed it up. Go ahead.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
I am talking about the book of Hebrews here. There are five words that will cause you to pause, and they should launch you out on a new adventure in worshiping the Lord. Those five words are, “Sir, I would see Jesus.”
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Right. That is the thing the book of Hebrews wants to teach us. By reading that book, if you really digest it properly into your spirit, you will be able to see Jesus a lot better than you did before. Keep going.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
These five words could summarize the message of the letter to the Hebrews. All those who are really Christians and are born again of the Spirit actually do pursue the Christian life. We do that by “keeping our eyes on Jesus.”
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Absolutely focused on Him, because that is really the wisdom of God: to keep your eyes focused on Jesus, because Jesus is the wisdom and power of God. If you do not have Jesus, you do not have wisdom. If you do not have Jesus, you do not have power to enter heaven.
Then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
We do that by keeping our eyes on Jesus, on whom our faith depends.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Yes. Our faith depends on Jesus. If you have faith, your faith depends on Jesus to keep you upheld, just as He upholds the entire universe. If He upholds this earth and the visible things, He will uphold you by means of an invisible force, which is the Holy Spirit, because the Word of God is Spirit and life.
The more you read the Word of God, the more you will be upheld through all your trials and tribulations.
Then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
And it depends on our faith from start to finish.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Once we get saved, in order to be saved, we have to have faith, and we have to continue in faith to the finish, to the end.
Then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
Hebrews chapter 12, verse 2.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Okay, 12:2.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
“Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith...”
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
The beginning and finishing of our faith. Amen. From start to finish.
Then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
Worship is the setting in which the Church of Jesus Christ most clearly focuses on God’s Word.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Right. If you are not worshiping the Lord, you do not know Him. There are several aspects of how to worship the Lord and why you should worship the Lord.
Then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
God’s Word is His majesty and power.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Why do I say that? Because His Word is the power that upholds everything. It is majestic because it upholds the entire earth and universe. If the Word of God is in you, it is the power and majesty to uphold you.
Then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
God’s Word is His sacrifice for sin.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
What do I mean by God’s Word is His sacrifice for sin? God sacrificed His Word, that whosoever believes in Him should have eternal life. His Word is Jesus. The Bible clearly tells us that Jesus is the Word of God. So He sacrificed His Word, that whosoever believes the Word, the whole Word of God, should not perish but have everlasting life.
The Bible states that if a person reads the Word and does not do what it says, that person is like a fool. They are like an old shack that cannot withstand storms. It is impossible for them to endure trials and tribulations, just as the elements of the world destroy shacks. But if you build your life on the majesty and power of God, then that will uphold you. The majesty and power of God is Jesus, the Word of God. Hallelujah. Amen.
Speaker 3 – Congregation / Audience:
Amen.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Praise the Lord. Then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
How do you say His Word is the sacrifice for sin?
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
I say it because Jesus is the Word, and He sacrificed Himself, the Word. He did what the Word said, to show us the test and what we have to do as well. Anyone who tells you anything other than that is, according to the speaker, a devil and a liar.
Read that line again.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
How do you say His Word is the sacrifice for sin? It is because the Word is Christ. So His sacrifice for sin and His intercession on behalf of His people, not other people, but just His people...
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
He is not for you if you are rebellious against His will. But He is the intercessor for His people to God. You cannot get to God except through Jesus, the Word.
Then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
All of these are the subject matter of the book of Hebrews.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Yes. The Word of God is the subject matter, and the power, dominion, glory, and majesty are the Word.
What else?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
Or it could be called the letter.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
They call it the letter. They say no one knows who wrote it, but I know it is Paul. But the actual author is Jesus. Amen?
Speaker 3 – Congregation / Audience:
Amen.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Why should you wonder who the author is? This is such a deep and powerful book. You know it is Jesus. Amen?
Speaker 3 – Congregation / Audience:
Amen.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Why? Because the majesty and power of it will uphold you when you feel like sinning, when you are tempted. Jesus was tempted in every way. That means if you see pornography, Jesus was tempted in every way, but He resisted it. Amen?
Speaker 3 – Congregation / Audience:
Amen.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
It did not turn Him on. He knew everything. The devil tempted Him with everything on the face of this earth. Therefore, if you have seen pornography and it disgusted you, that does not mean you have sinned, because Satan will flash these things at you. But we have been called and are upheld by the majesty and power of His Word to resist it. Amen?
You have the power now available for you, and the majesty of God, and the superiority of Christ over the angels. This book states that Jesus is superior to the angels. He is superior to Jonah. He is superior to Abraham. He is superior to Isaac and Jacob. He is God. Amen?
Speaker 3 – Congregation / Audience:
Amen.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
And because of them, we are not to neglect coming together with other worshipers.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Read the line before “and because of them.”
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
It is because the Word is Christ, so His sacrifice for sin and His intercession on behalf of His people, not other people, but just His people. All of these are the subject matter of the book of Hebrews, or it could be called the letter.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Right. The Lord intercedes for us because God the Father sees Jesus in us. When we go up to the throne of God, it is the Jesus in us that makes it possible. The blood of Jesus on our souls, and our souls being completely void of sin, make it possible for us to reach the throne of God.
That is why Mary could never be our intercessor. She is not deity, she never spilled her blood, she did not die on a cross, and she does not have the power to put her spirit in you to resurrect you from the dead. Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. No man comes unto the Father but by Me.” What about Your mother? Can we come to the throne, Jesus, by Your mother? No. Only by Me, says the Lord. Anyone attempting to get to the throne of God other than by Me is a thief and a robber, and no thief or robber shall enter the kingdom of God. A thief and robber, the Bible says, is the devil. Amen.
Speaker 3 – Congregation / Audience:
Amen.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Okay, then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
And because of them, we are not to neglect coming together with other worshipers. Hebrews chapter 10, verse 25.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Because of the fact that He intercedes for all of His people, we are not to neglect worshiping together.
If there is animosity, if there are people in the congregation giving false reports, and they hate the people who are helping the church leaders, or the leaders on the face of this earth whom God lives in, then that person is of the devil.
When God put Buster in this church to help me out, after I had been going for forty years in this church, and I had a helpmate whom God took twenty-four years ago, April 8, 1982, since then it has really just been the Lord, myself, and certain people in the church who helped some. But they were not anointed to help as much as Buster is helping me. I am not saying other people in the church do not help me, because they certainly do. They work hard. There are many people who are really saved and work hard.
But there are some in the church who are doing everything they can to try to destroy Buster’s soul and cause him a lot of trouble. These troublemakers will be made to leave if they do not leave him alone. That is just the way it is. It is either God’s way, which is my way, or the highway. Amen?
Speaker 3 – Congregation / Audience:
Amen.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
They can just get out on the highway. Then what else?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
Hebrews chapter 10, verse 25: “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another, and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
The day is at hand. All right. Then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
In order to continuously offer our sacrifice of praise to God by proclaiming the glory of His name. Hebrews chapter 13, verse 15.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
There are so many things. There is the glory of His name. That means the glory of His Word, which upholds all things. Amen? He upholds the universe. He can uphold the universe because it is under the control of His Spirit. If we are under the control of His Spirit, we are uplifted to the point where we are even more dynamic than the sun, moon, and stars, because the sun, moon, and stars are not in the body of Christ. We are, if we keep His commandments.
But we are nothing but trash, what the Bible calls goats or chaff to be burned, if we neglect letting the Word uphold us.
What does Hebrews 13:15 say?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
“By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name.”
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Why? There are many reasons, unless you are apart from Him. We must praise His name because we have communion with Him. You are able to communicate with God, and if you are not saved, you certainly do not have the ability to do that.
Go ahead.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
The author of Hebrews is the Apostle Paul. Maybe Luke had something to do with it, but Paul was the predominant speaker here, or scribe. That book develops a picture of Christ and His work that is taken from the imagery and structure of Israelite worship.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Right. The actual author is Jesus, and Paul ascribes the authorship of that book to God Himself, Jesus Himself. God, the Word, is the actual author of God. He is the One who created everything and has sustained everything through these years. In the beginning, He created the sun, the moon, the stars, the earth, and everything in it. You see that they are still going. He has sustained it all, right up to this day. Amen.
Speaker 3 – Congregation / Audience:
Amen.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Is that something? Amen. So if He sustained it for all these years, why would He not be able to sustain you for however many years you have left on this earth? Amen. He can sustain you. He created you, and He can sustain you. He created the entire universe, and He has sustained it.
Then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
Jesus is the Son of God, through whom He has spoken to create and sustain all things.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Read that again. I just got to “sustain.” I thought I would forget it. That is why I put it down.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
Jesus is the Son of God through whom He has spoken.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
In other words, the Word. God has spoken the Word, and when He did, everything was created. He said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. Amen. It is still there. Amen. So He created and sustained it.
Keep going.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
Through whom He has spoken to create and sustain all things.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
All things means He will live by His Word. What does it mean to live by His Word? It is like going to town by being in your car. That means you have to get into the automobile. If you want to be sustained long enough to go to heaven, you have to be in the Word. So get in the vehicle, the Word. Amen. Get into Jesus and let Jesus go. It is about the Spirit entering into you. That is what this message is all about: how to have God’s life living in you. His life is forever. Amen? Forevermore.
Then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
Not only did God, with Christ, create everything by Him, the Word, but He also has sustained all these things. That is why I say that Christ, if people are in the Word, will sustain them.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Will be sustained. They will be kept together. The Bible says the Word keeps everything God created cohesive. It is the cohesiveness, the glue that keeps you together.
You see some women and men, and when there is a full moon, it affects them because they are not glued right. They do not have the Word of God in them. They do not depend from the beginning of their faith to the end of their faith on the Word of God, Jesus.
This is how I want to teach you how to stay saved. Amen? Any of these people who say, “When the Lord saves you, you are sealed in,” that is strange doctrine. One scripture after another will show you right here in the book of Hebrews that if you continue on in the faith, you will be saved; but if you do not, you will not be saved. Those who endure to the end shall be saved. Those who are sustained by the Word of God to the end shall be saved. Amen?
Speaker 3 – Congregation / Audience:
Amen.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Okay, then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
That is why I say that Christ, if people are in the Word, will sustain, not only save you and create a new person in you, but He will be able to sustain you, as He has all things, which is Hebrews chapter 1, verses 1 through 3.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Yes, He will uphold all things. Read Hebrews chapter 1, verses 1 through 3.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
“God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets...”
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
What other diverse ways has the Lord spoken to people? Through sixty-six different prophets. Amen? That is a lot of ways. Plus all the works that were done by them. Those are diverse and different ways. Amen?
Speaker 3 – Congregation / Audience:
Amen.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
“Hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory, and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power...”
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
He upholds everything by the Word of His power. So if you have His Word in you and keep reading the Word into you every day, then you will be upheld just like the sun, moon, stars, earth, and everything else that is upheld by God’s Word.
Everything is under the control of the Lord except human beings. The only way human beings can be under the control of the power of His Word is to read the Word and have it in them. It is a very simple process. Amen? You know how to eat food for your body. Learn to depend on the Word of God, to eat it and drink it every day so that it will hold you up, uphold you, and sustain you throughout your life.
Then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
“When He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.”
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Praise the Lord.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
So as such, He is also the superior and enduring high priest who offers Himself as the final and complete...
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
The superior and enduring high priest. The priests in the Old Testament were not superior because they all sinned. This high priest, Jesus, never sinned, so He is superior. The priests in the Old Testament died, but Jesus says, “I am He who was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore.” He is a high priest after the order of Melchizedek. He never dies. That is why He is superior to the Levitical priests. Amen?
Speaker 3 – Congregation / Audience:
Amen.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Because Melchizedek never dies. Read that again.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
So as such, He is also the superior and enduring high priest who offers Himself as the final and complete sacrifice to restore sinful humanity to fellowship with God the Father through Jesus.
The heavenly sanctuary has been opened up to us.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Is that something to praise and thank the Lord for? The sanctuary in the kingdom of heaven is opened up to us, so we can get into that sanctuary and be right around the throne of God.
Go ahead.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
And we may enter the presence of the Holy God. Hebrews chapter 10, verses 1 through 22.
“For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never, with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually, make the comers thereunto perfect.”
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
We are not going to go through verses 1 through 22. If you read that, brothers and sisters out there, you will see that it matches what I am saying here.
Continue.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
And so you could say that worship is the celebration, and it is the celebration and extension, of God’s covenant with His people.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
We have to celebrate our salvation and our ability to worship God, to enter around the throne and communicate with Him, and to have Him communicate with us. There are so many things people should be thankful for and love Jesus for. He did all this for us. Amen. He gave us the power. He created us, and then He sustains us if we let Him.
Then what else?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
So in other words, Christ is more necessary, but you do not realize how necessary Christ is until you read the Word like we are reading here.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
He is necessary for you to be sustained or upheld until the end, until you die.
Then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
Through His obedience, Jesus has brought us into a new and better covenant.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Right. The new and better covenant. The old covenant never gave the Word to us where it was written on our hearts, and it never gave us a promise that all our sins would be removed once and for all. He gives us the power to be saved and have all our former sins washed away, and then for us to be sustained or upheld so we do not sin any longer. That never happened before. This is a better covenant. Amen.
It is better than what was written on stones, because that could never be written on your heart. Nor was the Spirit living in you to uphold you, to sustain you until the time you leave your body and step into the kingdom of God. This is why we should love the Lord, because He did this for us. He created us. He sustains us. Then He enters into us, which gives us the power, or the sustaining power, to continue on to the end, because it is His Word. The Word sustains us.
Then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
Hebrews chapter 8, verse 6 and verse 13.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Okay, verse 6.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
“But now hath He obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also He is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.”
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Better promises. It is much better that we do not have to just read the Word and not have the power to keep it. Every year, even the priest had to offer up sacrifice for the congregation because they kept sinning and could not stop. But now we can stop. We can, and we are perfect if we are being sustained by His Word, if we are being upheld by God’s Word as Christians. How could you be any more perfect? Amen.
So any of these false prophets who are telling you, “Who is perfect?” Not them, that is for sure. But you should not go after their example. Go after what the Lord is telling you. What I am telling you is what the Lord says.
Then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
Verse 13: “In that He saith, A new covenant, He hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.”
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
He made the other covenant old because the people of the Lord back then broke His covenant, so it does not exist anymore. He had to make a new covenant, and He gave us a better covenant so that He helps us. When the Lord came, then He went up into heaven, and then He comes down and lives in us and helps us make it. Amen. Without His help, we are nothing. We can never make it. Flesh is weak, but the powerful Spirit of God, the Word of God, upholds us because it lives in us, because we read it.
If you get a guilty complex because you do not read it, then you are the loser. You are a big-time loser if you know the truth and do not do what it says. You are like the fool who builds the shack on the earth rather than digging down deep and building a foundation with solid rock.
Then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Right. We still use the examples of the Old Testament, and we use it to show us that the Messiah is coming. It shows us prophecies concerning the Messiah. It tells us what the New Testament and the new covenant are going to be: that He lives in us.
This is a kingdom that cannot be destroyed. The kingdom of man down here is going to be destroyed, but what a wonderful thing to praise and thank the Lord for, that we are going into His kingdom, a kingdom that will never be destroyed. Nothing can destroy it. No men walking around with briefcases up there with A-bombs or H-bombs can destroy it. We do not have to worry about that kingdom being destroyed. We are secure if we make it to the end, if we continue on. That is eternal security: once you cross into the promised land.
Go ahead.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
Hebrews chapter 12, verse 28: “Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.”
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Grace means power. So let us have power. May we have God’s power, the Word of God living in us, that we may serve the Lord with reverence and godly fear. We know that we could never sustain ourselves before the Spirit of God was living in us. Therefore, we have fear because we do not want to lose that power by disobeying His Word.
Then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
God’s servants of old trusted Him to bring this hope to reality, and the witness of this communion encourages us to run after, or pursue, the same hope. Actually, the living God is the author of Hebrews. He reminds us that He is awesome in His righteous judgment. Through Christ, we are able to enter the joyful assembly that worships in His presence.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Through Christ, we are able to enter the joyful assembly that worships in His presence. We are able to go up into the throne. There are elders around the throne, and we are up there worshiping with them. Hallelujah. Amen.
Speaker 3 – Congregation / Audience:
Amen.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
That is something to love the Lord for. He makes the kingdom of heaven accessible to us.
All right. Then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
It reminds us that He is awesome in His righteous judgment. Through Christ, we are able to enter the joyful assembly that worships in His presence. So there are things you can read in Hebrews that give insight on worship.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
It will give you insight. We are going to list things that give you insight into why you should worship the Lord.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
One is, to worship, we need a heart that is soft and pure.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
If you do not have a heart that is soft and pure toward the Lord, then you cannot worship.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
Hebrews chapter 3, verses 8 through 11; chapter 9, verse 14; and chapter 10, verse 22.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Look at chapter 9, verse 14.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
And two, we enter God’s throne room to worship without restriction. Hebrews chapter 10, verses 19 through 22.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Here is another insight. Read that.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
“Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.”
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
The evil conscience goes away when you are doing everything His Word tells you to do.
Continue.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
Here is another insight: it is impossible to please God without faith, so faith is the actual foundation for true worship. Hebrews chapter 11, verses 1 through 2.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Faith is the foundation for true worship.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
Another is, holiness and obedience are important expressions of worship. Hebrews chapter 12, verses 14 and 25.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Okay.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
“Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.”
Verse 25: “See that ye refuse not Him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused Him that spake on earth...”
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
That was Moses or the prophets. Then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
“Much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from Him that speaketh from heaven.”
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
You will not be able to escape, because God is good and God is love, but He also kills, and He does not care for people who do not listen to what He says.
Okay. Then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
Another reason to praise the Lord is because God deserves our worship in holy fear and awe. Hebrews chapter 12, verse 28.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Keep going.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
So when we read the Bible, we need to praise God for His Word, which has come to us in many ways, or diverse ways. Hebrews chapter 1, verses 1 through 2, and Hebrews chapter 4, verse 12.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Read Hebrews 4:12.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
That is how it upholds us.
Then what else?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
His constant, unchanging character. These are insights to worship the Lord.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Yes, because He never changes. He is good, and He sustains you if you will just read Him and concentrate on Him, keeping your mind focused on Him in your heart and soul. Amen.
Then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
His unchanging character is constant. Hebrews chapter 1, verses 2 through 3, and chapter 2, verse 10.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Read chapter 2, verse 10.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
“For it became Him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things...”
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
He made everything and created all things. Then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
“In bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.”
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
And chapter 13, verse 8.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.”
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Another insight to worship the Lord: He does not change. You can depend on the Lord. Amen. He is our dependable plan.
Then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
Another insight to worship the Lord is Jesus, who died for all the people of the world. Hebrews chapter 2, verse 9.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Yes, for all those who will receive this service. Read chapter 2, verse 9.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
“But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels...”
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
For a while. If you read the Greek, it says a little lower than the angels for a while, just for a little while.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
“For the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that He by the grace of God should taste death for every man.”
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
By the power of God, He should taste death for every man, all those who will accept Him.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
Another insight is Jesus, who suffered death so that He could break the devil’s power over us. Hebrews chapter 2, verse 14.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Read it.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same...”
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
This is where all those false prophets say that He had some special kind of blood, that He had the blood of God. God does not have any blood. He had to come and take on what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
Flesh and blood.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself...” Jesus also had to do what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
“Likewise took part of the same.”
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
He took part of having human flesh and human blood. So He did not have God’s blood, because He was a man. Anyone who says He did not come in the flesh is Antichrist. Anyone who says Jesus did not have human blood and human flesh is Antichrist. This is what John Hagey says, and this is what many others say. Hagey is the most recent one I have heard say that. Do not believe him. According not to me, but to the Bible here, he is Antichrist.
Then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
“That through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil.”
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Right. If He did not come with human flesh and human blood, He would not have had to die, and He would not have had the power to destroy Satan’s hold on us. Because He did that, He proved to us that having the Spirit of God in us will cause us to be able to endure all things and to be upheld by His Word as He was. Jesus was upheld by the Spirit. Remember, the Word of God is the Spirit, the Holy Spirit, and it is eternal life. Amen.
Speaker 3 – Congregation / Audience:
Amen.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
Another insight is Jesus, our merciful and faithful high priest. Hebrews chapter 2, verse 17.
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
What a merciful high priest. What a reason to worship Him. That is an insight. He is a high priest after the order of Melchizedek. He never ends.
Go ahead.
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
“Wherefore in all things it behooved Him to be made like unto His brethren...”
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
In all things, He was made like human beings, with blood, bone, and flesh. He hurt, and He was tempted in every single way.
Then what?
Speaker 2 – Sharon:
“That He might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.”
Speaker 1 – Tony Alamo:
Another insight is God’s promise that believers will enter His place of rest. That is here on earth and continues on in eternity.
I see that my time is up right now, but make sure you tune in tomorrow, because we are going to continue this book of Hebrews. We have not even made it through the first chapter yet, but I will guarantee you that you are going to experience new life by listening to these tapes.
Now, the first step in order to have power over sin and Satan, and to have the power of God living in you, to have power over sin, Satan, your flesh, death, hell, and the grave, is that you have to have the Lord Jesus Christ living in you with His Father by the Spirit. That will happen right now if you will just say this simple prayer to the Lord and have faith that everything He said, He is, and He will sustain you.
You are going through rough times, just like all the rest of us. But we are inside the Lord, and the Lord went through all the rough times. He wants us to go through them as well, but He wants to help us go through the rough times.
So just say this prayer to Him, and that will begin now.
Say: My Lord and my God, have mercy upon my soul, a sinner. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God, and I believe He died on the cross and shed His precious blood for the forgiveness of all my guilty sins. I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit.
I open the door of my heart, and I invite You into my heart, Lord Jesus. Wash all my guilty sins away in the precious blood that You shed for me. You will not turn me away, Lord Jesus. You will save my soul, I know, because Your Word says so. Your Word says You will turn no one away, and that includes me. Therefore, I know You have heard me, and I know You have answered me, and I know I am saved.
I thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving my soul, for inviting me into Your kingdom, into Your family, into the presence of the Holy Father. I thank You, Lord, for now encompassing me round about with angels to uphold me in Your Spirit. I thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving my soul. You did not turn me away, because Your Word says all who call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. I did, and I thank You, Lord, for saving me.
Just raise your hands and thank and praise the Lord, and let me know if you were saved by this tape.
Now, Sharon, give everyone out there in radio land four ways to receive a copy of this tape number 203, everything paid, postage and everything.
