E250 How To Have God's Life Living In You Part 148

Steadfast to the End: Testing False Teaching by the Word

Summary

Opening Prayer and Call to Persevere
Tony Alamo introduces program 250 as part 148 of his series about having God's life within the believer. He previews readings from 2 Peter and prays that listeners will remain steadfast in faith until the end. During the prayer, he recounts imprisonment and allegations against former church members, courts, government, and media, presenting these as opposition to his ministry. He asks that people who have left the church repent and return. The opening establishes perseverance, obedience to Scripture, and resistance to falling away as the episode's central themes.

Gospel Music and International Testimonies
After introducing a recording of "Swing Down, Sweet Chariot," Alamo discusses his enjoyment of gospel quartets and the need for talented secular performers to embrace Christian faith. Sharon reads a joint letter attributed to 48 former Muslims in Nigeria who say they converted after hearing the program on Radio Africa. They request complete Bibles and describe Jesus as the way to salvation. Alamo connects their testimony with overseas evangelism and with the work of Buster and his wife. He also describes material assistance involving electricity, clean water, clothing, food, Bibles, and financial support.

Prayer, Support, and Mission Work
A letter from James in Napoli thanks the ministry for literature, a Bible, and a Messiah book and requests evangelism and prayer materials. Alamo explains why he does not want the writer's title "Father in Christ" confused with the one heavenly Father. He then emphasizes prayer as spiritual opposition to Satan and leads another prayer for finances, evangelism, enemies, and people in need. A Ghanaian writer says unemployment had led him to contemplate suicide before ministry literature prompted him to surrender his life to Jesus. Alamo also briefly mentions a prisoner in Egypt who reportedly converted after hearing the radio broadcast.

Scripture Without Private Interpretation
The teaching portion begins with 2 Peter 1:20-21 and the assertion that Scripture is not subject to private interpretation. Alamo also returns to 2 Peter 1:2-4 to connect knowledge of God with grace, peace, life, and godliness. He applies these passages to a wide range of moral and doctrinal questions, including sexual conduct, abortion, love for God, rejection of worldly lust, and loyalty to people spreading the gospel. His language includes severe condemnations of LGBTQ people and other groups. These are presented in the transcript as his religious interpretations and not as independently established medical, legal, or factual conclusions.

Warnings About False Teachers
Alamo and Sharon continue through 2 Peter 2, reading warnings about false prophets, covetousness, destructive teaching, judgment, Sodom and Gomorrah, and people who return to corruption. Alamo applies the chapter to former congregants, critics, media organizations, political systems, and religious institutions he believes oppose him and Scripture. He recounts a claimed supernatural experience illustrating swift judgment and a conversation with Larry Hagman about a tabloid allegation. He interprets church government, righteousness, and the narrow way as requiring strict obedience to the Bible. The chapter's images of Balaam, wells without water, a dog returning to vomit, and a washed sow returning to mire support his warning against abandoning the faith.

Salvation Prayer and Final Charge
The episode closes with Alamo inviting listeners to repent and pray for salvation through Jesus Christ. The prayer affirms Jesus as the Son of God, His crucifixion and blood, His resurrection through the Holy Spirit, forgiveness of former sins, and the believer's responsibility to continue faithfully to the end. Alamo urges listeners to reject worldly conduct, walk the straight and narrow path, and read the King James Version of the Bible. Sharon provides the ministry website, mailing address, telephone number, and fax number for obtaining program 250. Alamo then introduces "Onward, Christian Soldiers," and the transcript ends as the musical recording begins.

SPEAKER IDENTIFICATION

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher
The opening identifies Tony Alamo, although the automated transcript badly distorts his name. He introduces program 250, comments on international letters, offers extended interpretations of Scripture, leads prayers, provides personal recollections, and closes the episode.

Speaker 2 - Sharon / Reader and Contact Announcer
Near the end, Tony addresses Sharon by name and asks her to provide the ministry's contact information. The same supporting voice appears to read the letters and Bible passages throughout the program. This continuity is inferred from the transcript; the reader is not reintroduced before every segment.

Speaker 3 - Congregation / Group Response
This collective voice responds "Amen" during prayers and transitions. The transcript does not distinguish individual congregants.

Speaker 4 - Prerecorded Musical Performance
Tony introduces recordings of "Swing Down, Sweet Chariot" and "Onward, Christian Soldiers." No complete song lyrics are captured in the provided transcript.

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

Hello again. This is World Pastor Tony Alamo, and we're in part 148 of How to Have God's Life Living in You. This is program number 250.

If you'd like a copy, Sharon will tell you four different ways you can call, write, fax, or email us to order one. You can ask for either an audio tape of the program or a CD.

Today we have more Bible Scripture. We're going to read the last two verses of 2 Peter chapter 1 and then as much as we can of chapter 2. We also have some letters.

Right now, let's go to the throne of the Lord and ask Him to anoint this service.

Father, we thank and praise Your name for eternal life and immortality, for the faith You have given us, and for Your precious Word. It is by believing Your Word that we are saved, and by doubting it that we are damned.

Lord, You know those of us who believe Your Word because we do what it says. Chapter 1 tells us to hold our belief steadfast to the end, and that message is stated throughout the Bible: only those who continue to the end shall be saved.

Some people think, "I'm saved," while they sit in churches, but chapter 2 tells us that many people sitting in churches are lost. They are described as brute beasts. They sit among us and dine with us, but you'll hear the rest later.

Father, open the ears of the church so people will receive these things and be able to go into the highways and hedges of the world and preach the gospel the right way. When people enter the church, may those already there not be antagonistic to Your Word, but comply with it in every way.

Your Word tells us to love the brethren and says those who do not love the brethren are still in darkness. That is why, in my view, You have been giving me messages about churches in this area that hate people who are getting the Word of God out.

I maintain that people who fell away from this church for money bore false witness against me in court and caused me to go to prison for six years, although I got out after four years for good behavior. These things may happen again, but I am here on earth to be obedient to You.

Even if I have to return to prison for the rest of my life, let no one see me fall away from You. Let my life testify that, when someone is filled with Your Spirit - with Jesus and the Father by the Spirit - there is no way others can make that person fall.

For 42 years, Lord, I have endured what I call false accusations. The benefits of following You are so powerful that I gladly endure them in order to hold fast to the faith. After all these years, I do not want to become a castaway, fall away, and become like those I criticize.

Lord, I pray that people will hear the message You have given me from Your Word, repent, and return to You in the mighty name of our Lord, so souls in the world can be saved. Some people have heard the gospel for years but never mixed it with faith, or they began believing accusations promoted by the media.

People need to read our website because, at what I believe was Your request, I have brought back accounts of things we have experienced through the years. I want people to see statements attributed to people connected with the federal government about what they said was done to us. Some told their stories even though they believed their lives were at risk.

Lord, bless those who told the truth about this work. May souls be saved, and may those in the church who have fallen away not remain part of what I call the great falling away. Let at least some of them return to You and become Christian soldiers again.

May they go onward with me and with however many Christians are on earth, so the kingdom of heaven may be fully matured here. In Jesus' name I pray. Everyone says amen.

Speaker 3 - Congregation / Group Response

Amen.

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

I recorded "Swing Down, Sweet Chariot" with J.D. Sumner and the Stamps Quartet. Here it is now.

Speaker 4 - Prerecorded Musical Performance

[Song: "Swing Down, Sweet Chariot." The lyrics are not captured in the provided transcript.]

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

I love singing with gospel quartets. I'm about ready to sing with another very famous gospel quartet that is still performing. It is a joy to sing gospel songs. I love them. To me, they are more wonderful than secular songs.

Susan [name uncertain] used to say that any good tune is of the Lord because musical talent comes from Him. She joked that all tunes were acceptable except a "spit tune." I didn't think that was funny at the time. She was talking about gospel songs.

Some secular songs are beautiful, and their writers and performers have great talent, but they need to get saved and start singing praises to the Lord. Amen.

Now, where are these letters from?

Speaker 2 - Sharon / Reader and Contact Announcer

The first one is from Nigeria.

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

Don't we have one from Naples, Italy? Which one says that 48 people got saved?

Speaker 2 - Sharon / Reader and Contact Announcer

The one from Nigeria.

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

Those Africans are on fire. You hear people in the United States ask, "What about unsaved people in the streets or people in the deepest darkness of Africa? How are they going to get saved?"

Some people there are more saved than the people asking those questions. If you're so worried about them, why don't you get saved, go there, and minister to them? You might be surprised because some of them know the gospel better than you do.

If you had the love of God, you would get saved, go there, and witness to them. Amen?

Speaker 3 - Congregation / Group Response

Amen.

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

Go ahead with the letter.

Speaker 2 - Sharon / Reader and Contact Announcer

Evangelist Tony Alamo,

Dear Sir,

Calvary greetings to you in the name of our risen Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

I'm not saying that everyone in Africa is right. There are many unsaved people there as well. Keep going.

Speaker 2 - Sharon / Reader and Contact Announcer

We are writing this letter jointly to testify that the Lord is good to us because He has done a new thing in our lives by saving our souls. We were formerly Muslims, but the Lord Jesus Christ transformed our lives from darkness to light as a result of listening to your program on Radio Africa.

We realized that we were on the wrong way and that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. He is the only way to salvation. We thank Him and give glory to God because our lives are no longer the same.

As new converts, please help us grow by sending each one of us a copy of the complete Bible.

[The letter reportedly lists 48 names, but those names are not read in the provided transcript.]

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

That little group says 48 people were saved through the Lord's radio broadcast.

We are reaching Buddhists, Muslims, and people throughout the world. Some Muslim voices cry out against Americans, but we sent Buster and his wife there, and they did what I consider a fantastic job.

They said people there had never heard of many other ministries and that no one else was helping them financially. We recently increased our financial support to one of the groups because it had quadrupled in size.

They started with around 40 people. Buster later gave a figure that I remember as either 40,000 or 58,000 people. They say people are coming to the Lord daily through the messages we send.

We are sending many Bibles. We have also helped them obtain electricity and a large 2,000-gallon water tank so they can have clean, fresh water.

I will say one thing about the United Nations there: I believe they have to do a few good things to appear godly, although I regard much of it as a facade. In this case, they were delivering water. We paid for it, but they delivered it.

The people now have clothing and good, nourishing food because we are sending finances. We believe we are receiving blessings from the Lord for it.

If you want us to receive all those blessings, we'll keep paying for it ourselves. If you want to please the Lord, support the work that is preaching what we believe is the truth.

We could feed more people and take the gospel to more people if listeners would tithe. We receive very little. It surprises me that false prophets receive huge amounts of money while, in my view, preaching fallacy and doing little for anyone.

They talk about unusual things but don't tell people who Satan is or how to get saved and stay saved. If you read the first chapter of 2 Peter, you'll see that you have to love the brethren, love your enemies, and do good to those who persecute you.

There is nothing better you can do for an enemy than give that person what you believe is the truth. What good is it to feed, clothe, and house people without also giving them the gospel? You could feed them until they become "800-pound weaklings," but if they are not saved, I teach that it will do them no eternal good.

Finish the letter, please.

Speaker 2 - Sharon / Reader and Contact Announcer

We should have written individual letters, but because of the high cost of postage, we decided to write you together in this way.

We are praying for your ministry and for the God of heaven to continue mightily blessing you and all your endeavors. To save the cost, send the Bibles in one bag.

We hope to hear from you soon.

Yours in Christ,
Bodi [name uncertain]
Oyo State, Nigeria, Africa [location uncertain]

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

They sent 48 names in one envelope. We have their addresses, and we're going to send Bibles, Messiah books, letters, and tapes.

What is the next letter?

Speaker 2 - Sharon / Reader and Contact Announcer

It is from Napoli, Italy.

Dear Father in Christ,

Peace be unto you, and may the grace of the Lord be with you. Father in Christ, I thank you for the gift I received. May the Lord Almighty bless you and increase your work. Again I say, may God bless you.

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

He calls me "Father" because people there are accustomed to Catholic religious leaders being called fathers. I teach that we have one heavenly Father. I am only a pastor, preacher, and teacher of the gospel.

Some people might call me a prophet because I believe I receive messages from the Lord and pass them on. That is what prophets are for. We would be nothing if the Lord did not give us messages to share.

Don't think of me as your heavenly father. Someone might say I am a father in the gospel if I helped bring that person to the Lord, as Paul discussed, but I teach that there is only one heavenly Father.

The writer is going to use that title several more times, so just understand what he means. Continue.

Speaker 2 - Sharon / Reader and Contact Announcer

I was delighted when I received your parcel. I am very grateful for your gift. I love the literature, the Bible, and the Messiah book.

Father in Christ, I have distributed the literature to friends and have also given your address to friends so they can write to you. Furthermore, could you send pamphlets for me to distribute or another guide concerning evangelism?

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

This man is in Naples, Italy. I've been there. It is a nice place, although I went in the winter and it was colder than I expected.

The first place we saw after getting off the boat was an ancient city where people had been buried and later uncovered. [The remainder of this recollection is unintelligible in the source transcript.]

Continue.

Speaker 2 - Sharon / Reader and Contact Announcer

Lastly, I am also a prayer warrior in my ministry. I would be happy if you could help me with a book concerning prayer.

I am grateful once again, and I say may God Almighty bless you and your ministry. Amen.

Your son in Christ,
James
Napoli, Italy

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

The devil hates anyone who prays. If you want Satan to hate you, pray to the Lord. The devil hates people who pray because he knows - even if many Christians don't - that when you ask God for something in prayer while keeping His commandments, you will receive what you pray for.

Satan does not want you to have what you need or the righteous things you desire. If you want to be a friend of Satan, don't pray. If you want to be his archenemy, pray.

I am his archenemy, and I pray: Lord God, send more finances so we can reach more people on earth. Get this Word to those who have decided to become Your enemies and ours, and let them be saved.

If they will not be saved, Father, Your Word says that kindness toward an enemy can heap coals of fire on that person's head. I want to be Your friend. I will continue to be Your friend and preacher, one through whom I believe You pour Your Spirit and Word into the world.

Lord, let everyone who has a need pray to You. You will hear them and show them great and mighty things they have not known. All of us ask this in Jesus' mighty name. Everyone says amen.

Speaker 3 - Congregation / Group Response

Amen.

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

Pray to the Lord. Don't complain when the devil hates you afterward. We can't get away from that.

Is there anything else?

Speaker 2 - Sharon / Reader and Contact Announcer

There is one more letter from Ghana, Africa.

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

Ghana. That looks like a long one, so go ahead.

Speaker 2 - Sharon / Reader and Contact Announcer

Dear Pastor Alamo,

God richly bless you and your ministry. I received your newsletters with love.

I was trying to commit suicide because of unemployment, but I read many people's confessions about being saved through a man called Jesus. My heart was touched, and I am requesting the book entitled The Messiah, other literature, and cassettes.

Your newsletter was so positive and powerful that I decided to surrender my life to Jesus as my personal Savior. A reply is urgently needed.

Yours in the service of the Lord,
Atop [name uncertain]
Ghana, Africa

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

There was another letter from a man in Egypt whose initials may have been E.Y. He was in prison, heard my radio broadcast, and said he got saved. We'll probably read that tomorrow.

We are broadcasting throughout the world. It is wonderful for me to hear these testimonies, and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Now we're going to read the last two verses of 2 Peter chapter 1 and then go into chapter 2. Go ahead.

Speaker 2 - Sharon / Reader and Contact Announcer

Second Peter 1:20:

"Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation."

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

This is the first thing you need to know. I believe the Holy Spirit spoke through the apostle Peter. When you read the Bible, I teach that it means what it says and is not subject to private interpretation.

I apply that principle to biblical prohibitions against adultery, fornication, homosexuality, lesbianism, lying, stealing, covetousness, and other conduct I call sin. I reject interpretations promoted by media, governments, church councils, or anyone else when I believe they conflict with Scripture.

I also condemn abortion. I mentioned Arnold Schwarzenegger and alleged that a government policy denied certain rights or benefits to people who would not honor homosexuals. The exact policy is not identified in this transcript.

I teach that a person cannot invent a private moral code and expect God to accept it. I believe only those who are in the body of Christ can enter the kingdom of heaven, and that the Spirit does not unite a person with Christ while that person knowingly continues in sin.

The first and most important commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. To me, that means loving the Word of God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.

The Gospel of John says that in the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God. I therefore regard contempt for Scripture as contempt for God.

I also teach that loving God includes loving those who preach the Word and win souls. I say that people who knowingly bring false accusations against such workers or fight the work of spreading the gospel are opposing the Holy Spirit.

Jesus said that the words He spoke were from the Father, that they are spirit, and that they are life. If you reject what I understand to be God's Word, I believe you reject spiritual and eternal life.

Scripture says not to love the world because the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life are in the world. I teach that favoring lust over the Word condemns a person.

Now read 2 Peter 1:2.

Speaker 2 - Sharon / Reader and Contact Announcer

"Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord."

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

I teach that people lack peace because they lack knowledge of God through His Word. Go to verse 3.

Speaker 2 - Sharon / Reader and Contact Announcer

"According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue."

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

Through the Word of God, you receive what pertains to life and godliness. When you know you have eternal life, you have peace. If you reject the Word, I teach that you have neither spiritual life nor godliness.

I once spoke with a man on the street who said he liked heat and did not care about hell. We were standing near a restaurant whose name sounds like Elgo's. I challenged him to put his face and hands on the hot grill if he truly liked heat. My point was that people speak carelessly about judgment without understanding suffering.

I then referred to the destruction of the ancient world by the flood and to Sodom and Gomorrah. I used harsh language condemning male and female same-sex relations and said I believed God hated such conduct. I rejected the claim that God never hates anything, saying that people who make that claim have not read the Bible.

Chapter 2, I said, discusses people who deceive themselves and others. Continue with verse 4 of chapter 1.

Speaker 2 - Sharon / Reader and Contact Announcer

"Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises."

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

I call these precious promises received through accepting the Word of God. If you have peace, eternal life, and the Word of God, I believe you have everything.

Now return to the final two verses of chapter 1.

Speaker 2 - Sharon / Reader and Contact Announcer

Second Peter 1:20-21:

"Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

"For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost."

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

I teach that the Holy Spirit is the source of life and that the Word of God is spirit and life. If you reject it, I believe you reject the Holy Spirit and eternal life. No amount of education can substitute for receiving it.

Now chapter 2.

Speaker 2 - Sharon / Reader and Contact Announcer

Second Peter 2:1:

"But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies."

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

There were false prophets among the people, and I believe false teachers have infiltrated churches today. They privately bring in what Scripture calls damnable heresies.

I apply this to teaching that conduct Scripture condemns is acceptable merely because someone says God loves the person. I teach that anyone preaching a doctrine other than the gospel in the Bible is accursed.

Galatians chapter 1 says that if anyone preaches another gospel, let that person be accursed. I teach that listeners must believe the biblical gospel rather than inventing another one.

I again used forceful language condemning lesbian, gay, adulterous, and fornicating conduct. I said people need the new birth and the Spirit of God to overcome what I describe as sinful desire.

I asserted that same-sex attraction can result from demonic influence beginning in childhood. That is my religious claim in this sermon, not a medical conclusion established by the transcript. I said this is why Jesus taught that a person must be born again.

I made another indistinct reference sounding like "the Tiskee poem" and said I could continue for days on the subject. The exact reference is not recoverable.

Continue.

Speaker 2 - Sharon / Reader and Contact Announcer

"Even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction."

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

I say false teachers deny the Lord when they call God's Word dangerous or replace it with what they describe as a new age for a new time.

I then returned to my belief that the Vatican, a one-world governmental system, and media organizations oppose Scripture. I interpret biblical descriptions of Rome, the great red dragon, red and purple colors, and worldly wealth as applying to the Vatican.

I contrasted what I describe as the spirit of the dragon with the Spirit of God living in Christians. I also referred to a song I recorded, "You Can't Take It with You." Whether a person goes to heaven or hell, I said, worldly possessions cannot be taken along. Everything accumulated in this life loses its value to the person at death.

Continue.

Speaker 2 - Sharon / Reader and Contact Announcer

"And bring upon themselves swift destruction.

"And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of."

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

I warn that people who preach what Scripture calls heresy may seem to continue for a long time, but God's judgment will come suddenly.

I once had what I regard as a supernatural experience while lying face down on a bed in a house at a place heard as Georgia Ridge. I felt my soul leave my body and move upward toward heaven and then downward toward hell. I interpreted that experience as showing how quickly judgment can occur.

When Scripture says destruction is swift, I believe there will be no time to bargain or ask for another chance.

The passage says many will follow destructive ways and speak evil of the way of truth. I apply that to people who speak against my preaching and ministry, because I believe I am doing what the Bible commands.

Continue.

Speaker 2 - Sharon / Reader and Contact Announcer

Second Peter 2:3:

"And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not."

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

I interpret covetousness here as jealousy and the desire to possess what another person has without earning it. I also interpret "feigned words" as flattering speech used to remain in a church and benefit from its food, facilities, and teaching.

I said some former members praised the messages but later thought they could return to worldly conduct and still enter heaven. When I continued preaching that they needed to repent, some spoke against me.

The passage says their judgment does not linger and their damnation does not slumber. I believe people who condemn me for doing what I say the Lord commanded are not escaping judgment.

Continue.

Speaker 2 - Sharon / Reader and Contact Announcer

"For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

"And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

"And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly."

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

I compare angels who were cast out of heaven with people who were once in church and then fell away. If God did not spare the angels, I teach that former church members should not assume they are exempt from judgment.

The passage cites Noah and the flood, then Sodom and Gomorrah. I attributed the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah to homosexuality, lesbianism, fornication, adultery, lying, and other conduct I call sin.

I compared those cities with luxurious resort communities such as Palm Springs. I said people living in luxury can become spiritually lazy, lounge around pools or mineral baths, drink wine, and pay little attention to God. I used a phrase sounding like "Big Leg Pete" while imitating someone demanding more wine; the exact reference is unclear.

I teach that Sodom and Gomorrah were made examples for later people who think they can continue in conduct Scripture calls ungodly. I repeated that the passage is not subject to private interpretation.

Continue.

Speaker 2 - Sharon / Reader and Contact Announcer

"And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:

"For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds."

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

The passage calls their deeds unlawful. Some people say the law is done away with, but I teach that the law still identifies and condemns sin. When the Spirit of the Lord enters a person, I believe that person receives power to keep God's commandments.

I teach that believers are saved through the righteousness of the Lord. If we are in Christ's body, believe His Word, and do what it says, then we share in that righteousness.

I reject preaching that tells everyone indiscriminately, "You are the righteousness of God," even while knowingly continuing in sin. I cited biblical warnings that a person who practices sin is of the devil and Jesus' instruction to "sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee."

I believe these Scriptures are fixed standards by which God judges people. Those who obey will hear, "Come in, my good and faithful servant," while those who reject the Word will be told to depart.

The Gospel of John says the Word was God and became flesh and dwelt among us. I identify that Word with Jesus. To believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, I teach, means believing the whole Word of God.

Continue.

Speaker 2 - Sharon / Reader and Contact Announcer

Second Peter 2:9-10:

"The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

"But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government."

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

I apply "government" here to order within the church. Critics have said I rule the church with an iron fist. I answer that if they call the Word of God an iron fist, they will answer for that judgment.

I teach that God's Word is strict and that the way to heaven is straight and narrow. A believer must put on the mind of Christ and cannot turn to the left or right to follow the world, false accusers, media, or what I call the Antichrist system.

I argue that the actual iron fist belongs to forces that discourage Bible reading, remove Scripture, demand conformity, support warfare, and destroy lives before people can receive the gospel.

I also interpret biblical iron imagery as referring to an Antichrist world-government system that the Lord will ultimately break apart. I told listeners not to claim that God never hates anything without reading the Bible.

Continue.

Speaker 2 - Sharon / Reader and Contact Announcer

"Presumptuous are they, self-willed, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

"Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.

"But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not."

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

I say God called me and made me a chosen vessel to speak His message. I am not willing to water down what I understand His Word to say because I fear the Lord more than I fear critics.

I apply the description of natural brute beasts to people who speak against us without understanding the Bible, God, me, or the ministry. I say they prefer what they consider the glamour of the world, although Scripture describes the world in terms of lust.

Continue.

Speaker 2 - Sharon / Reader and Contact Announcer

"And shall utterly perish in their own corruption;

"And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you."

I said some people sat in our church and ate with us, then gave what I call false testimony for money and favor. I accused them of saying that church members who believed the gospel were mentally deficient or brainwashed.

I used harsh language against those people and said I believe that deliberate blasphemy against the Holy Spirit places a person in danger of being beyond repentance. I advised anyone who might have spoken ignorantly to stop, back away from that conduct, and beg the Lord for forgiveness.

Second Peter 2:14:

"Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children."

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

I say false accusations can beguile unstable people and cause them to reject the gospel. People often like sensational allegations, which is why they read publications devoted to scandal.

I recalled a conversation with my friend Larry Hagman. He told me he sued a tabloid, apparently the National Enquirer, and received about half a million dollars. When I asked what it had said about him, he told me it claimed he nailed little birds to trees by their wings.

He grimaced while telling the story, and I had to keep from laughing because I felt as though I were on the set of Dallas. He prevailed in that dispute, as he described it.

I then said earthly lawsuits are minor compared with the judgment people will face before God for false accusations.

"Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

"But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.

"These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.

"For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error."

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

I interpret this as describing people who promise freedom to those who leave the narrow way. They say, "We are free at last. We can do anything we want. We can sin."

Jesus, however, said to deny yourself daily, take up the cross, and follow Him. I teach that the way to eternal life is straight and narrow, while the road to destruction is broad.

There are many ways to go to hell, I said, but only one way into heaven: following the straight and narrow Word of God.

Second Peter 2:19-22:

"While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.

"For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

"For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

"But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire."

Speaker 1 - Tony Alamo / Host and Preacher

I compare people who return to worldly conduct after being spiritually cleansed with the dog returning to its vomit and the washed sow returning to the mire.

The Lord can clean you, set you upright by His Spirit, enter your spirit, and give you power and dignity. I said I could not understand why people would knowingly return to conduct that offers no eternal profit.

You can receive eternal life now. No matter what you did in your former life, I teach that your sins can be washed away in the blood of Jesus if you sincerely pray.

This is only the beginning. You must keep learning the Word and continue to the end. Then you will be saved.

Say these words to the Lord and mean them:

"My Lord and my God, have mercy upon my soul, a sinner. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God. I believe that He died on the cross and shed His precious blood for the forgiveness of all my filthy sins.

"I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. I open the door of my heart to Jesus and invite You into my heart.

"Wash away in the blood of Jesus all the filthy sins I committed in my former life. Drown them in the sea of Your forgiveness and remember them against me no more, so long as I continue to the end.

"Lord, You said that You turn no one away and that all who call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Therefore, I know You've heard me. I know You've answered me. I know I'm saved, and I thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving my soul."

Raise your hands, praise the Lord, and thank Him. Stay away from the world, reject its ways, and walk the straight and narrow path.
