Ep243, How To Have Gods Life Living In You, Part 141, Framed, Judged, and Standing Firm: Faith, Persecution, Media, and the Call to Live by God’s Word

Grace, Obedience, and the Power to Stop Sinning

Tony Alamo opens the program by identifying it as Part 141 of How to Have God’s Life Living in You and program 243. He begins with a prayer and then develops his teaching that grace should be understood as divine power rather than as permission to continue in sin. He rejects the idea that salvation automatically covers future willful sin regardless of behavior and repeatedly emphasizes the command to “go and sin no more.” In his theology, the indwelling Holy Spirit gives believers the power to obey God, while deliberate return to sin can lead to severe spiritual consequences.

The Framed Narrative

The central document read in the episode is a tract titled Framed. Alamo says it was written around 1996 and contains earlier material from Susan Alamo predicting that he and their churches would eventually be framed by government, media, and anti-cult organizations. The tract describes the Cult Awareness Network, television accusations, newspaper coverage, and what Susan Alamo believed was a coordinated effort to destroy the ministry. Alamo connects this material to his own imprisonment and repeatedly says his conviction and other accusations were part of a larger campaign against him.

Vatican, Government, and Media Allegations

Alamo spends a large portion of the program advancing broad claims about the Vatican, presidents, assassinations, the media, and world government. He alleges that Ronald Reagan described himself as a Vatican puppet, that the Kennedys were killed after becoming too independent, and that major political leaders carried out policies on behalf of Rome. He also accuses Catholic institutions of covering up clergy abuse and connects the Vatican to anti-Semitism, the Holocaust, Waco, international warfare, and the erosion of U.S. sovereignty. These claims are presented throughout as Alamo’s religious and political interpretations rather than independently established facts.

Judgment, Courts, and 1 Corinthians 6

A major theological section is built around 1 Corinthians 6. Alamo reads Paul’s warning about believers taking disputes before unbelieving courts and uses it to argue that spiritual matters should be judged by born-again Christians using Scripture. He says worldly courts treated him unjustly, prevented favorable evidence from being presented, and relied on witnesses he claims were paid, threatened, or pressured. He also argues that Christians are called to judge conduct by the Word of God and that the saints will ultimately judge the world and angels.

Persecution, Church Conflict, and Public Witness

Alamo applies the same themes to conflicts with nearby churches and critics. He says people who call themselves Christians have brought accusations against his ministry before unbelievers and the media, thereby damaging the public credibility of Christianity. He describes hiring security after alleged gunfire at church property and defends self-defense while distinguishing it from murder. He repeatedly warns that hatred, false accusation, and religious hypocrisy can become stumbling blocks for people who otherwise might hear and accept the gospel.

Susan Alamo’s Childhood Testimony and the Salvation Appeal

The final major section reads from Susan Alamo’s reported testimony about childhood tuberculosis, revival meetings, a supernatural healing, religious conviction, and salvation. She describes hearing Christians sing nearby, seeing Jesus, later recognizing her need to be born again, and eventually believing she had been called to preach in the last days. Alamo says he and Susan then helped launch a Jesus-movement ministry among people on the streets of Los Angeles. The episode closes with a salvation prayer, contact information for program 243, and the song “I’ll Walk with God.”

Framed, Judged, and Standing Firm: Faith, Persecution, Media, and the Call to Live by God’s Word

Speaker Identification

Speaker 1 – Host / Preacher, Tony Alamo

The speaker identifies himself at the opening as World Pastor Tony Alamo and states that this is Part 141 of How to Have God’s Life Living in You, program 243. He delivers the sermon, comments on salvation, grace, sin, government, the Vatican, media, legal disputes, judgment, persecution, and church conflicts, and closes with a salvation prayer and ministry contact information.

Speaker 2 – Reader / Assistant

A second voice reads portions of a printed tract titled Framed, including material attributed to Susan Alamo, as well as passages from 1 Corinthians 6 and some transitional text. The assistant’s name is not stated clearly in this episode, so no identity has been assigned.

Speaker 3 – Recorded / Musical Performance

The program includes a performance of “Onward, Christian Soldiers” near the beginning and “I’ll Walk with God” at the end. Several lyrics are garbled by the automated transcription, so the songs are preserved as musical segments with only clearly intelligible lines included.

.............

Speaker 1 – Host / Preacher, Tony Alamo:

Hello again. This is World Pastor Tony Alamo.

Today we’re doing Part 141 of How to Have God’s Life Living in You.

You can jot this down if you’d like to have a copy. It’s program number 243.

Copies are available either as a CD or an audio tape. The tape or CD, postage, and handling are free of charge.

The reason we’re doing this is because we would love you to study it so that you can also preach the gospel and teach people right from wrong.

We must obey the truth from the Word of God, or else, according to my preaching, we are not going to make it into the Kingdom of Heaven.

Right now, let’s go to the throne and ask the Lord to anoint this service outwardly.

We have what I call an inward anointing from the Holy Spirit, and through the baptism of the Holy Spirit we have both interior and exterior anointing.

I teach that the baptism of the Holy Spirit gives us power, which many people call grace.

I say that translators changed or obscured the idea of power by using the word grace, and most people do not understand what grace means.

Some people think grace means, “We’ve been saved, so now we can go and sin some more.”

But the Lord did not say, “Go and sin some more.”

He said, “Go and sin no more.”

I teach that the power of God is sufficient to keep us from sinning.

If we love the idea of entering the Kingdom of Heaven and escaping hell, then we will read the Word and receive the Holy Spirit’s power within us so that we can go and sin no more.

Some people say the law is done away with.

My interpretation of Paul is that before salvation we were under the penalty of the law.

But when we accept the power of God within us—the power many people call grace—we are able to go and sin no more.

Therefore, in my teaching, the law no longer condemns us because we are walking in obedience.

But I also teach that Romans, 1 Peter, 2 Peter, and other passages warn that if we return deliberately to sin, there can come a point where no forgiveness remains.

Romans 1 speaks about God turning people over to a reprobate mind—a mind rejected by God.

I say that leads people to do things even animals do not do.

Father, anoint this service.

Pour Your Spirit upon it.

Let it be You and You alone speaking on this tape.

For people who do not believe that the Holy Spirit is still in this world, living in human beings as the continuation of Your incarnation, let them know it.

Let the Holy Spirit, through You to me and through me, convict their hearts so their souls might be saved and the church strengthened.

Let hypocrisy in churches be done away with.

Father, we ask it in Jesus’ name.

Amen.

Now we’re going to be reading a piece of literature.

It’s called Framed.

I tell people that the news media, world government, the Roman Catholic system, the United Council of Churches, and other institutions have railroaded me.

I say Susan and I warned this would happen.

I went to prison for four years on what I say was a frame-up.

It was a six-year sentence, but I served four years because I had a good prison record.

They said I was a model prisoner.

I compare that with the Apostle Paul, who also suffered imprisonment.

But before we read the tract, I’m going to sing a song with a group behind me.

It’s “Onward, Christian Soldiers.”

We all have to get into the groove spiritually.

National attention has been focused on banner headlines proclaiming that Christians are being kidnapped, tortured, committed to mental institutions, and accused of brainwashing and mind control.

Arise, Christian America.

The King is coming.

Hold fast.

The Day of the Lord is here.

Speaker 3 – Recorded / Musical Performance:

“Onward, Christian Soldiers” is performed.

Clearly intelligible lines include:

“Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
with the cross of Jesus going on before.
Christ, the royal Master, leads against the foe;
forward into battle, see His banners go.”

The automated transcription becomes garbled in later lines, but the performance continues with the theme of Christian unity and marching under the cross of Jesus.

Speaker 1 – Host / Preacher, Tony Alamo:

I was stating that I believe I was framed by world government and sent to prison because authorities claimed I had cheated on income tax.

Susan and I placed notices in the Southwest Times Record saying that if anyone in the Fort Smith, Arkansas, area believed they paid more taxes than we did, they could bring their tax bills to us.

We said we would pay theirs if they would pay ours.

Not one person traded tax bills with us.

We paid taxes when we owed them.

There were also times, in my view, when we paid taxes we did not actually owe.

I teach that biblically the work of God should not be taxed in the same way as ordinary business.

But in the New Testament, Jesus said, “Render unto Caesar” and told Peter to get tax money from a fish’s mouth.

That is how supernatural the Bible is.

People should read it.

It is more than interesting.

I believe receiving what it says concerns the salvation of your soul.

All right, let’s read this piece of literature I wrote.

When did I write this?

Speaker 2 – Reader / Assistant:

Around 1996.

Speaker 1 – Host / Preacher, Tony Alamo:

1996.

That’s ten years ago. This is 2006.

Of course, we were writing similar things long before this happened.

Part of what Susan put into it was written more than 25 years ago.

Go ahead.

Speaker 2 – Reader / Assistant:

“Susan Alamo prophesies: ‘Tony will be framed.’

“More than 20 years ago, before Susan Alamo’s death…”

Speaker 1 – Host / Preacher, Tony Alamo:

Now it’s more than 25 years ago.

Susan died April 8, 1982.

That makes it about 24 years now, and next April will be 25 years.

Continue.

Speaker 2 – Reader / Assistant:

“Before Susan Alamo’s death on April 8, 1982, she predicted on her nationally syndicated television program, ‘After my death, they will frame Tony and our churches.’

“We had our first encounter with this group, the Cult Awareness Network in California, approximately three and a half years ago…”

Speaker 1 – Host / Preacher, Tony Alamo:

From when this was first written, that would now be much longer ago.

Continue.

Speaker 2 – Reader / Assistant:

“Suddenly, there were people appearing on television with all sorts of wild accusations against us. The next thing we knew, they would be printed in newspapers across the country. I began to realize that we had been picked for destruction by the news media.

“Having been a member of the news media at one time…”

Speaker 1 – Host / Preacher, Tony Alamo:

Susan used to be a reporter for the Los Angeles Examiner, which I remember as a major newspaper.

So she knew about the press and what she believed was government and media corruption.

Go ahead.

Speaker 2 – Reader / Assistant:

“It was obvious to me that all the members of the press were not ignorant or deceived regarding the lies being told about Tony and myself. These lies were told by most of the major newspapers and major television newscasts, as well as by television magazines throughout the world.”

Speaker 1 – Host / Preacher, Tony Alamo:

Look at what I call the moral decay of the nation.

People are afraid to walk the streets in some cities.

Look at presidents who, in my view, have been set up for assassination.

I have claimed Ronald Reagan told me that he was basically a puppet of the Vatican.

My interpretation is that presidents are used as smokescreens for Vatican power.

I think it is foolish to seek the presidency if, as I believe, you have to bow to religious power behind the scenes.

I say leaders can become assassination targets when they stop doing what those powers want.

I make that allegation about the Kennedys.

I say John F. Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy became too independent and were killed.

I have also said the assassination attempt against Ronald Reagan was a warning because he was becoming too independent.

There has also been discussion of a motion picture depicting the death of President George W. Bush.

I heard it portrayed him being killed in Chicago at a future date.

There was controversy because people felt it was inappropriate to portray the assassination of a president who was still alive.

The transcript links that movie with the same company that made The Passion of the Christ, but that connection is unclear.

Who made The Passion of the Christ?

Speaker 2 – Reader / Assistant:

Mel Gibson.

Speaker 1 – Host / Preacher, Tony Alamo:

Mel Gibson.

I consider him anti-Semitic and Catholic.

I did not want to see The Passion of the Christ because I believed it was a heavily Catholicized portrayal of Jesus.

I saw religious imagery in it that I do not find in Scripture.

The Bible says the Lord’s body was beaten horribly.

I believe the beating was so severe He could hardly be recognized.

Roman authorities hated Him.

Some unsaved Jewish leaders also hated Him.

But the first converts were Jews.

The Apostle Paul asked what advantage there was in being Jewish and answered that it was great in many ways, chiefly because the Jews were entrusted with the oracles of God.

The Scriptures came through the Jews.

Then the gospel went to the Gentiles.

Jesus Himself was Jewish.

So I say to Gentiles who hate Jews, including members of the Ku Klux Klan: if you want to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, you will have to humble yourself before Jesus Christ, whom I call the world’s greatest Jew.

And, according to my teaching, you must have Him, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, living within your mortal body before you can be saved and raised to eternal life.

People in the United States often misunderstand biblical language and Middle Eastern idioms.

I say people twist the Bible, hopefully sometimes out of ignorance.

I believe sins of ignorance can be forgiven, but I teach that knowingly, willfully continuing in sin is another matter.

Let’s continue with this literature.

Speaker 2 – Reader / Assistant:

“And I truly believe that Tony Alamo and myself have been set up by the press, by the news media, for outright destruction, and I don’t believe there is another way you could describe it.

“I believe, as I sit before you now and look out into your faces, that Tony Alamo and I will be framed one of these days. The government will have to resort to such measures because there is nothing they are saying about us that is truthful.”

Speaker 1 – Host / Preacher, Tony Alamo:

I say the Vatican hates the Bible.

I accuse Catholic leaders and priests of sexual abuse and of transferring priests accused of abusing altar boys so they could avoid prosecution.

I believe the media stopped emphasizing those scandals while attacking independent Christian churches and calling them cults.

I have made accusations about President Bill Clinton too.

I say he joined a Baptist church for political reasons but had strong Catholic schooling and connections.

I say he attended Catholic schools and universities and studied at Oxford.

After becoming president, I say he openly associated with the pope.

I also accuse his administration of responsibility for the deaths at Waco and other military actions overseas.

I refer to Attorney General Janet Reno and make additional allegations about her.

I say American presidents, including Reagan, Clinton, and the Bushes, have served as puppets or tools of Vatican power.

I have also said monuments in Washington, D.C., glorify the pope and symbolize presidential submission to Rome.

I make the same argument about John F. Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy, saying they became too independent and were killed.

I also accuse the Vatican of hatred toward Black people and Jews.

I claim that Hitler’s Holocaust was connected with Catholic power.

These are the positions I have preached.

Continue.

Speaker 2 – Reader / Assistant:

“There is nothing they are saying about us that is right, and there is nothing they can say about us that could cause us to stop preaching the truth.”

Speaker 1 – Host / Preacher, Tony Alamo:

People tell us not to judge.

But what are they doing when they accuse us of all these things?

They are judging us, but not from the Bible.

The Bible says believers are able to judge all things spiritually.

Let’s read some of 1 Corinthians, chapter 6.

Keep your place in the tract.

Speaker 2 – Reader / Assistant:

“Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?”

Speaker 1 – Host / Preacher, Tony Alamo:

That’s the point I’m making.

I say government courts, media institutions, and what I call false churches judge us even while they say church and state should be separate.

Then they condemn us because our reading of the Bible says homosexual conduct, lesbian conduct, child molestation, fornication, adultery, and lying are sins.

I say major institutions do not want to hear biblical judgment.

I also say people have placed themselves under what I call one-world government rather than solely under the United States Constitution.

If you place yourself under another government, do not be surprised when that system makes rules that conflict with the Constitution.

I call it Roman Empire government and Roman canon law.

I say the Pilgrims and other settlers came to North America partly to escape religious domination in Europe.

Yet, in my view, people have now willingly put themselves back under the same kind of system.

You may still wave an American flag for now, I say, but if the one-world system has its way, it will tell you that you are not under America anymore.

I accuse the Vatican of controlling that world system.

I say Roman canon law historically persecuted Christians.

I also connect the Clinton administration’s actions at Waco with that system.

I have said Clinton later suffered serious health problems, including bypass surgeries, and I interpreted that as divine judgment.

You cannot kill Christians, little children, mothers, and fathers and expect to escape judgment, in my theology.

The Bible says people will do evil things in the last days.

But I believe God will shorten the time and judge them.

I do not see this as my personal judgment.

I say the people judging us are not qualified to judge us spiritually.

Paul said the Lord is the believer’s judge.

Speaker 2 – Reader / Assistant:

“Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?”

Speaker 1 – Host / Preacher, Tony Alamo:

I interpret Paul as telling Christians to take disputes before saints rather than unbelieving courts.

I believe worldly courts will not judge a Christian fairly.

I say that happened to me.

When I went into court, I say there were backsliders and other people testifying against me, some of whom had been threatened or pressured by government authorities.

I say I was prevented from presenting evidence about good things I had done.

According to my account, my attorney was warned that if he brought certain matters forward, more witnesses would be brought in against me.

I say some of those witnesses were liars who had been paid, pressured, or threatened.

I was married to a woman named Elizabeth.

I say she was told her mother and two children would be killed if she did not testify against me and divorce me.

So she did.

My interpretation of Scripture is that if a spouse leaves you and refuses to serve the Lord with you, you may have a right to marry again.

Yes, I married again.

I was also married to a woman named Brigitte.

I described her as a Princess of Sweden and an heiress connected with Volvo.

I say she testified that I was giving her $40,000 a month.

I deny that.

I say the entire church did not even take in enough money to support such a payment.

I also asked whether she had paid taxes on the alleged money.

I say government authorities did not want to discuss that.

So Paul’s question, as I interpret it, is: why would Christians voluntarily take their disputes into courts run by unjust people?

I believe matters should be judged by truly born-again people using the Word of God.

We are to judge spiritual conduct by Scripture.

How else do you tell people that adultery, fornication, homosexuality, lesbianism, or other sins need repentance?

I am not trying merely to condemn you.

I am telling you what I believe the righteous Judge says in His Word.

If Scripture convicts you, then repent.

If you continue in darkness because you do not want to be confronted about sin, what chance do you have to enter the Kingdom of Heaven?

Read the Bible.

Let it convict you.

Conviction can lead you to repentance and righteousness.

When sin revives in your conscience, it can show you your condition.

Then you ask for forgiveness, and by faith the blood of Jesus is applied to your soul and cleanses your former sins.

I emphasize former sins because I reject the idea that future willful sins are automatically forgiven.

The Lord says, “Go and sin no more.”

He gives you the power—what many call grace—to stop practicing sin.

I think that is wonderful.

Speaker 2 – Reader / Assistant:

“Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world?”

Speaker 1 – Host / Preacher, Tony Alamo:

That is what I am saying.

The saints—the people the world attacks and accuses—will judge the world.

I would rather you receive judgment from the Word of God now and repent than stand before final judgment without having repented.

I count it glory when I am persecuted for preaching the gospel because Jesus said believers would be persecuted and falsely accused.

To backsliders and others who violently attack me, the churches, or other Christians, I say you are bringing judgment on yourselves.

I pray you can be forgiven.

But I also warn about blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

In my theology, if a person commits that sin, there is no forgiveness in this world or the world to come.

Continue.

Speaker 2 – Reader / Assistant:

“And if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?”

Speaker 1 – Host / Preacher, Tony Alamo:

No.

I say even a young Christian can open the Bible and judge conduct by what the Word says.

God is not going to pull out some new rule book on judgment day.

You are going to be judged by the same Word you can hear now.

So repent.

Turn around.

The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.

The Word of God is Jesus.

Jesus is God.

The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are one.

There is one God, expressed in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Your brain, heart, and soul are all still you.

In the same way, I describe Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as different offices of the one God.

Continue.

Speaker 2 – Reader / Assistant:

“Know ye not that we shall judge angels?”

Speaker 1 – Host / Preacher, Tony Alamo:

Yes.

There are evil angels who followed Satan out of heaven.

The saints will judge angels.

We already know, from Scripture, what the judgment of evil angels is.

I say people who refuse repentance face eternal punishment in the lake of fire.

I warn adulterers, fornicators, people practicing sexual sin, liars, and those I call Antichrist that if you do not repent, judgment is real.

When I use the term “bastard” in this sermon, I mean a person who does not have God as Father.

That is how I am defining it spiritually.

If you refuse to repent, I say you will cry for mercy in judgment, but the God you refused to hear on Earth will not hear you then.

Continue.

Speaker 2 – Reader / Assistant:

“How much more things that pertain to this life?”

Speaker 1 – Host / Preacher, Tony Alamo:

So believers should judge matters in the church by the Word of God.

People tell the press that Tony Alamo rules his church with an iron fist.

I deny that.

I have never killed anybody.

But I accuse governments of killing enormous numbers of people on false premises.

I bring up Iraq and weapons of mass destruction.

Then media outlets show angry Iraqis raising their fists and yelling against America.

Of course people become angry when their families and communities are bombed.

You cannot create suffering and then act surprised that people hate you.

I am not saying, “Kill Americans.”

I am not saying, “Kill Iraqis.”

I am not saying, “Kill Iranians.”

I am praying for people because I do not want their souls to go to hell.

If you are stirring up trouble in the world, I warn you that you are bringing wrath on yourself.

Some people are so hardened, I say, that they know they are going to hell and want to bring others with them.

But those of us who are saved believe that even if we are killed, we go to the Kingdom of Heaven.

At funerals I say I would rather be where the saved person is than remain on this Earth surrounded by unrighteousness.

To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

That is my faith.

Continue.

Speaker 2 – Reader / Assistant:

“If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.”

Speaker 1 – Host / Preacher, Tony Alamo:

Exactly.

Take even the least-esteemed believer who knows Scripture and let that person read the judgment from the Bible.

That is proper judgment.

I say many people prefer sensational media, government propaganda, and what I call Vatican propaganda.

I say people have been conditioned to believe they are still living under a fully independent United States when, in my view, world government has taken authority.

I say this is why the Bible was pushed out of public schools and parents lost authority over children.

That is my political and religious interpretation.

Continue.

Speaker 2 – Reader / Assistant:

“I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you?”

Speaker 1 – Host / Preacher, Tony Alamo:

I define wisdom as fearing God.

I do not see a lot of wisdom in this world.

I sent representatives to a city council meeting in this small Arkansas town.

There were church people there bringing accusations against us before people I consider unbelievers.

I say that harms the people outside the church because some might have listened to the gospel and been saved if people who call themselves Christians were not slandering us.

They were upset because we hired security guards.

I cannot be here all the time.

I say someone fired bullets into our church.

We do not carry guns.

We do not use drugs.

We hired security to watch over church people and take license-plate numbers.

Critics say other churches do not do that.

My answer is that other churches may not have bullets fired into their windows.

If a church is being threatened, I do not see anything wrong with hiring security.

Murder is condemned in the Bible.

Self-defense, in my interpretation, is different from murder.

I believe a person may defend himself or herself without violating the command against murder.

But God forbid that anyone plan to kill the people of God.

I also warn against maligning people who, in my belief, have the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit living in them.

I say many Americans do not understand the Bible because they are unfamiliar with Middle Eastern culture and biblical idioms.

Strong Christians with an anointing to teach Scripture are often rejected because people do not want to hear that their sins bring judgment.

That is how I see it.

Read a little more.

Speaker 2 – Reader / Assistant:

“Is there not a wise man among you? No, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren? But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.”

Speaker 1 – Host / Preacher, Tony Alamo:

That is what I am talking about.

People who call themselves churches take accusations against Christians before unbelievers and spread them through newspapers and media.

How is the unbelieving world supposed to want Christianity if church people are fighting and falsely accusing one another?

I say churches that behave that way are not churches of the Lord.

I call them a synagogue of Satan because their conduct causes unbelievers to stumble.

I have seen more hatred from some religious people than from unsaved neighbors.

Before I became a Christian, nobody falsely accused me in the way I experienced after conversion.

Then Susan began taking me to churches and missions, and I saw hypocrisy.

Some women would rush up, grab my hands, and say they wanted to touch the flesh of a Jew because Jesus was Jewish.

I found that unsettling.

I define a holy greeting differently.

To me, a holy kiss or holy greeting is something like, “Praise the Lord. Hallelujah.”

Now go back to the tract.

Speaker 2 – Reader / Assistant:

“We will not be conditioned by them as the rest of the world has been conditioned by them.”

Speaker 1 – Host / Preacher, Tony Alamo:

By whom?

The news media.

I say people have been propagandized into believing lies.

The Bible warns that liars and people who love lies face the same lake of fire prepared for the devil.

Continue.

Speaker 2 – Reader / Assistant:

“On April 8, 1982, Susan Alamo died of terminal cancer.

“She had come from a little town in Arkansas, and from the very beginning, all could see the Lord’s power in her life.

“Susan wrote a book, which is yet to be published. In it, she unveiled some of her first supernatural revelations and other experiences with the Lord.

“In Susan’s book, she states:

“‘If you would have told Tony and myself that we would be pastoring a church in 1965, especially a hippie church, we would have said impossible and thought the very idea a joke.

“‘We were evangelists with many invitations to preach in churches. Our appointments were also with Christian businessmen’s groups for breakfast, lunch, and dinner services.

“‘We had no involvement in the hippie scene. It was remote from our lives. I had and still have no knowledge of drugs and wouldn’t know one narcotic from another.

“‘From our converts, we’ve heard of yellow jackets, red devils, Nembutal, barbiturates, heroin, and smack.

“‘To us, these were all just so many words. Tony and I don’t even take aspirin tablets, so all these others were foreign to us. But we know Jesus.

“‘I, Susan, have known Him since I was a child. He revealed Himself to me when I was a little girl. At the time, I was dying of tuberculosis.

“‘Some Christian people rented an old abandoned garage down the street from my family and held revival meetings there.

“‘My family said they were from the devil, a bunch of fanatics who should be put into jail. But every evening, as I lay there alone, my body wasting away day by day and the doctors giving me no hope, I heard the voices of those “crazy people,” the “fanatics down the street,” singing “What a Friend We Have in Jesus.”

“‘Every evening, I waited to hear their songs.

“‘One day, a neighbor lady sneaked into the house and told me the people down the street were praying for me.

“‘I could hear my mother crying when the family tried to convince her that she must make up her mind to give me up.

“‘When you lie very still for a long period of time, your hearing becomes very sensitive.

“‘One evening, I began to fade away. In the excitement surrounding what seemed to be my approaching death, the “fanatics” got into the house unnoticed.

“‘They knelt beside my bed and cried out to God.

“‘Then Jesus came into my sick room and healed me.

“‘I was invited to the mountain farm of my cousin and his wife, who gave me fresh eggs and milk to regain my strength.

“‘There was an old-fashioned record player, the kind that you crank, in the little room of the farmhouse that became my bedroom.

“‘There was only one record.

“‘On one side was a song containing the words, “When the world’s on fire, let God’s bosom be my pillow. Hide me over in the Rock of Ages. Rock of Ages, cleft for me.”

“‘On the wall was an old-fashioned calendar.

“‘I doubt my cousin or his wife even knew about the record player or had paid any attention to the calendar. They were newlyweds, and the record and calendar had probably been left there by someone else.

“‘On the calendar was a picture of a cross chiseled out of rock. Hanging onto the cross was a girl with long blonde hair. She clung to the cross as great waves beat around her feet.

“‘That girl became me, and the Spirit of God began to convict me.

“‘His Spirit made me know I was a sinner.

“‘Although I was only nine years old, I felt as if all the sins of the world were on my shoulders.

“‘Even though God had healed me, I was unsaved.

“‘I, like all of us, was shapen in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.

“‘I, like all of us, knew I must be born again if I intended to inherit the Kingdom of Heaven.

“‘I would play the record, look at the calendar, and cry.

“‘I could not sleep and I could not eat.

“‘I had seen Jesus when I was five years old. He had appeared to me.

“‘After I was old enough to read and understand the Scriptures, I realized why He had appeared to me at the age of five.

“‘It was so I would know who He was at age nine when He convicted me of my sins.

“‘In this way, I would know to cry out to Him to receive salvation because He alone is God the Savior, the mediator between God the Father and man.

“‘There is no other means given to us by God for salvation but through Jesus Christ our Lord.

“‘There is no other name given by God to us that we may call upon for salvation but the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

“‘Jesus is God who came into the world as a man to appropriate salvation for us.

“‘After several days and nights of agonizing conviction, I walked out into the mountains and fell upon my face before God, crying out to Him to save me.

“‘I called upon the Christ I had seen.

“‘Suddenly, the heavens opened and the Spirit of the living God came down into my very soul.

“‘I knew I was saved.

“‘God revealed supernatural things to me that day—things I never forgot.

“‘One was the knowledge that I would preach the gospel in the last days before Christ returned to Earth.

“‘God very supernaturally put Tony and me together.

“‘He used us in a mighty way to start the Jesus Movement, which spread throughout the world.

“‘It was during a time of severe persecution that I discovered my cancer.

“‘Our new converts were distributing gospel literature throughout Los Angeles, primarily in Hollywood, West Hollywood, and the Sunset Strip, where there was what I considered an infestation of sin and criminality: nude bars, pornographic bookstores, drug dealers, revolutionary movements, hired killers, drug addicts, prostitution, and other things.’”

Speaker 1 – Host / Preacher, Tony Alamo:

Keep your place there.

We’ll continue tomorrow. I see my time is up.

Susan and I went into those streets with the gospel.

I say tens of thousands of people came to the Lord through that work.

They were saved and filled with the Holy Spirit.

Some later fell away, just as Scripture says some would.

I say some of those people later testified falsely against me in court after Susan died.

That was during a time when I was grieving her death.

I compare it to the old saying that even a dog does not bite the hand that feeds it.

I felt betrayed because we had helped people and even helped cities.

We put bleachers at a high school in Newhall, according to my recollection.

We helped buy parks and helped communities with electricity, water, and other needs.

Then some people turned around and accused us of paying off city hall.

I deny that.

I say we were simply trying to help poor communities and people who needed a park, electricity, gas, or assistance during ice storms.

After doing those things, it hurts to see people turn around and attack you.

But I believe the Lord intervenes for His people.

There are listeners who do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

You can be saved right now by saying this prayer.

This is the first step in salvation.

Say this prayer to Him now:

Father, Holy Father, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God.

I believe He died on the cross and shed His precious blood for the forgiveness of all my sins.

I believe God raised Jesus from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit.

I open the door of my heart and invite You into my heart, Lord Jesus.

Wash all my sins away in the precious blood that You shed for me.

You will not turn me away, Lord Jesus.

You will save my soul.

I know because Your Word says so.

Your Word says that You will turn no one away and that anyone who calls upon the Lord shall be saved.

Therefore, Lord, I am calling upon You.

I know You have heard me.

I know You have answered me.

I believe I am saved.

And I thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving my soul.

Raise your hands and praise the Lord.

Now here is a song I recorded.

Joe Leahy arranged it for me, and we have our choir behind me.

It’s “I’ll Walk with God.”

Until tomorrow, this is World Pastor Tony Alamo saying God bless you and praise the Lord.

Speaker 3 – Recorded / Musical Performance:

Tony Alamo sings “I’ll Walk with God.”

Clearly intelligible lines include:

“I’ll walk with God from this day on,
His helping hand I’ll lean upon.
This is my prayer…”

Later lines include:

“I’ll walk with God.
I’ll take His hand.
I’ll walk with God.
He’ll understand.
I’ll pray to Him each day…”

The remaining lyrics are partially garbled in the automated transcript, so they are not reconstructed beyond what can be confidently understood.
