In this episode, Bonnie and David speak with Rodger Ruge, published author and Certified Life Coach about building resilience within the first responder community. Rodger is a retired police officer, survivor of complex post-traumatic stress disorder and 30-year mindfulness and resilience practitioner, trainer and coach.
Rodger shares valuable nuggets of practical wisdom as he shares his journey, from being one of the first responders to undergo EMDR therapy, to a practice of tactical self-care. Rodger did a deep dive into every alternative modality he could discover, including mindfulness and resilience practices, learning from doctors, monks, martial arts and chi gong masters and Native American shamans.
