Guest Biography

Morgan Taylor is an emerging R&B/pop singer/songwriter whose career trajectory exemplifies a blend of foundational gospel roots, academic musical training, contemporary R&B artistry, a live stage persona “BIG MO” all infused with a powerful independent artist entrepreneurial spirit.

From a young age, Morgan’s musical journey began in St. Louis, initially with gospel music. Her debut EP, Jesus Loves Me, at age 11, and performances in churches and at notable venues like The Fabulous Fox Theatre (opening for Brian McKnight and J. Moss) establish her early performance circuit and connection to her hometown. This foundational experience, where she “discovered her singing voice” at age nine through vocal lessons with a “powerhouse” church figure, is a key aspect of her development.

While she “will always love gospel,” her passion for R&B, cultivated by her parents introducing her to “great artists” like “iconic Whitney Houston,” became her pivot and dominant genre in high school. This transition highlights a conscious artistic choice, moving from a sacred to a more secular, yet still deeply rooted in a gospel vocal expressive, musical path.

Morgan graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2025. Her academic pursuits are artfully balanced with her “burgeoning career as a recording artist,” demonstrating a commitment to both formal training and practical application. Her experience in “Katy Perry and Janet Jackson ensemble shows” at Berklee underscores her versatility and exposure to large-scale productions, contributing to her development as a performer.

Morgan’s songwriting is highly personal and thematic, a recurring phrase in her self-description: “I like to write songs about what’s going on in my life, about experiences I’ve had in the past or are currently happening.” Her aim is to “express emotions that people can connect with,” particularly focusing on “the reality of heartbreak but the sense of overcoming it and not allowing anyone to steal our power.” This lyrical focus is evident in her recent co-written singles.

“Sucka For U” (2023) is a “master class in soul seduction,” exploring the complexities of “toxic relationship(s).” Her 2024 singles,”Highway” (a “passionate power R&B ballad” about an ideal relationship) and “Mistakes” (a “heartfelt, reflective” song about a breakup and self-realization), further showcase her ability to translate personal experiences into relatable narratives. The mention of “whistle tones” on “Highway,” inspired by Ariana Grande’s vocal layering, highlights her technical vocal artistry and influence from contemporary & classic music.=

The production of her music involves “top producers in Atlanta,” including Grammy winners like Jeremiah Adkins and Carla Carter, indicating a professional and high-quality approach to her recordings.

Her Instagram moniker, “highonmorgan,” further reinforces the immersive and captivating nature of her music and persona.

Having already established herself as a versatile and emotionally resonant artist, Morgan Taylor’s career reached a new high with the January 2025 release of her debut R&B EP, Love Bombed (Love, Loss and Lessons). The project, a testament to her songwriting prowess and vocal talent, has been met with critical acclaim and significant commercial success, accumulating over 1.5 million streams to date. This EP not only solidifies her place as a rising star but also demonstrates her ability to connect with listeners on a deeply personal level, positioning her as a force to be reckoned with in the contemporary music landscape. Her “BIG MO” energy, a recurring keyword, is central to her live performances, described as energetic interactions with the crowd, reflecting the “exciting fruits of her hard work.” With each new release, Morgan Taylor continues to evolve, proving that her captivating artistry and compelling narratives is just the beginning of her incredible journey.

Life Changes Show with Filippo Voltaggio
Show Host
Filippo Voltaggio

Come and join the conversation about what's going on and what we can do together about it, with it, and for it. We have the choice; we have the power. We can do magic if we just believe!

A show about the changes going on in us, to us, around us, and because of us. Therefore, it's technically a show about "Everything," only with a how to make it better, see it better, be better.

In the show, there is talk about, and with, people who have either been through major changes, are helping others with major changes, or people who are changing the world for the better in a major way.

The show is a one-hour talk show format with a monologue by the host, a 30-minute interview with a guest of note, capped by a "Producer's Wrap" segment, in which Filippo and Co-Host Mark Laisure, and sometimes surprise guests, bring it all home for the listeners in a sometimes humorous and sometimes touching, but always entertaining conversation.
