Hope For America - Episode 4: Divine Abandonment, Sexual Morality, and America’s Spiritual Crisis
Jeff Kinley presents Episode 4 of Hope for America on The King Is Coming, teaching from Romans 1 about what he calls the stages of God’s abandonment wrath, the spiritual consequences of rejecting God, sexual promiscuity, homosexuality, the depraved mind, the limits of political solutions, and the Christian responsibility to live and share the gospel while awaiting Christ’s return.

Romans 1 and the Question of Hope for America

Jeff Kinley continues the Hope for America series by asking whether the nation can turn around spiritually and whether God has begun withdrawing from a culture that rejects Him. He reviews earlier stages from Romans 1: suppressing divine revelation, refusing God’s rule, and replacing the worship of God. He then introduces what he calls “abandonment wrath,” meaning that God allows people or societies to experience the consequences of repeatedly rejecting Him. The episode presents this as Kinley’s theological interpretation of Romans 1 rather than as a universally accepted Christian conclusion.

“God Gave Them Over” and the Meaning of Paradidomi

Kinley focuses on the repeated phrase “God gave them over” and connects it with the Greek verb paradidomi. He explains the term as handing someone over, permitting arrest, or releasing a person into the consequences of a chosen direction. In his illustration, God not only lets go but gives a push, after which human desire and consequence take over. He compares this with Pharaoh’s hardened heart and argues that persistent rejection of God can eventually lead to divine withdrawal.

Sexual Promiscuity and Dishonoring the Body

Kinley identifies sexual promiscuity as the fourth stage in his outline of divine abandonment. He interprets Romans 1:24 as teaching that people who reject God are given over to desires that dishonor their bodies. Drawing from 1 Corinthians 6, he says sexual behavior is not merely physical but also spiritual because the believer’s body is described as the temple of the Holy Spirit. He contrasts marital intimacy between a man and a woman with sexual activity outside marriage and argues that different sins can carry different practical and spiritual consequences.

Pornography, Technology, and Cultural Consequences

Kinley describes modern America as saturated with sexual imagery and pornography. He cites statistics about pornography websites, viewing habits, childhood exposure, industry revenue, and sexually transmitted diseases to support his argument that sexual behavior is reshaping minds, emotions, relationships, and bodies. The transcript itself warns that these figures were preserved as speaker claims and should be independently fact-checked before being reused as verified data. Kinley also warns that smartphones and social media expose children to content that earlier generations had to actively seek.

Homosexuality and Kinley’s Interpretation of Romans 1

Kinley describes homosexuality and lesbianism as the fifth stage in what he calls God’s abandonment protocol. He interprets Romans 1:26–27 as teaching that same-sex relationships are contrary to God’s design, nature, and creation. He criticizes churches and Christian leaders who affirm same-sex relationships and links social acceptance of homosexuality with national judgment. These are Kinley’s theological and cultural claims, and the transcript does not present them as independently verified medical, scientific, legal, or universally accepted religious conclusions.

Judgment, Mercy, and the Possibility of Salvation

Although the sermon strongly condemns same-sex behavior, Kinley also says God loves homosexual, lesbian, and transgender people and that salvation remains available through Jesus Christ. He compares the present opportunity for repentance to the open door of Noah’s ark and says people from every background may receive forgiveness and a changed life. At the same time, he warns that continued rejection of God can reach a point where God “gives them over.” This tension between warning and invitation forms a major part of the episode’s message.

The Depraved Mind as the Final Stage

Kinley identifies Romans 1:28–32 as the sixth and final stage in the episode’s outline. He reads the passage’s list of unrighteousness, greed, envy, murder, deceit, arrogance, disobedience, and lack of mercy, and interprets the “depraved mind” as a mind that has failed God’s test and become spiritually ruined. He says individuals and nations at this stage not only practice sin but celebrate and approve it. Kinley concludes that America is already experiencing all six stages of what he calls divine abandonment wrath.

Government Cannot Save the Nation

Kinley warns that the crisis may worsen through additional laws, mandates, and social changes. He says the final future stage will involve the rapture of the church and the spiritual emptying of America, a subject he intends to address later in the series. He rejects government, presidents, and political parties as ultimate solutions, saying only God can save the nation. His practical response is to trust Scripture, rely on the gospel, live the Christian message, love people, speak truth, and remember that Christ is returning.

Ministry Resources and Closing Appeal

The program includes several ministry offers connected with the Hope for America DVD series, Jeff Kinley’s book The End of America, and another series titled America in Crisis. The narrator also appeals for financial support for World Prophetic Ministries. Because the transcript lists differing donation amounts for some offers and contains an uncertain speaker name in the America in Crisis segment, those promotional details should be checked before publication.
