The Moral Equivalence of Sovereignty

What serves an age of ascension to the greatest degree, morality or sovereignty?  Hard to decide?  Let's talk.

Beyond Moral Codes: Sovereignty, Inner Authority, and Radical Responsibility

Summary

The Responsibility of Absolute Liberty
Valerie opens by asking whether humanity is prepared for complete freedom and the total responsibility that accompanies it. She considers the possibility that human beings must pursue remembrance and enlightenment as individuals because humanity no longer functions through a unified consciousness. This independence, she suggests, may be difficult, but it may also be one of humanity's strengths. The discussion frames liberty not merely as release from restrictions, but as accountability for every consequence of one's choices.

From External Control to Inner Authority
The episode contrasts an external locus of control with an internal spiritual compass. Valerie argues that repeated submission to governments, regulations, workplaces, social expectations, and other external systems can gradually produce learned helplessness. She describes this process as a slow depletion of an “etheric battery” that represents inner integrity and spiritual capacity. The proposed remedy is to reclaim inner authority, release obsolete emotional and social baggage, and allow external reality to change through internal transformation.

Sovereignty as Reciprocal Freedom
Sovereignty is presented as absolute self-rule balanced by an equally absolute respect for the freedom and boundaries of others. Valerie describes this as a reciprocity of liberties and a mutually constrained form of sovereign self-expression. In this model, personal freedom ends where another person's freedom begins, creating a continuous cycle of responsible liberty. She connects this principle to bounded autonomy, mutuality, noninterference, and the possibility of a more harmonious social and spiritual order.

Common Law, Jung, and Individuation
The host brings the abstract idea of sovereignty into human experience through the common-law principle of doing no harm. She connects sovereign responsibility to Jungian concepts of personal authority, self-regulation, shadow integration, and individuation. The path toward wholeness includes bringing unconscious patterns into awareness, rejecting inauthentic habits, maintaining healthy psychological boundaries, reducing dependence on external approval, and developing discernment. Valerie presents these practices as ways of becoming accountable to oneself and to society.

Beyond Morality Toward Radical Responsibility
Valerie questions whether conventional moral codes can guide beings into higher spiritual states, proposing that externally imposed rules may eventually give way to radical personal responsibility. She explores the possibility that higher realms are ordered less by categories such as good and bad and more by resonance, frequency, and the capacity to enter particular dimensions of experience. In this framework, spiritual growth involves learning balance under difficult conditions, choosing heart-centered responses, and becoming capable of freedom without violating the sovereignty of others.

A Guided Journey into the Subconscious
The episode concludes with a guided Dixit-card exercise designed to move subconscious impressions into conscious awareness. Listeners imagine a person seated atop a towering stack of gifts while another person below offers a small present, then reflect on the figures' expressions, identities, motives, and surroundings. Valerie encourages listeners to record whatever arises without editing or judging it. The exercise reinforces the episode's broader themes of inner observation, conscious awareness, healing, and responsibility for one's internal world.

Speaker 2 - Host (Valerie):
Welcome, everybody, to Apple Pie Playground. I'm your host, Valerie. It is so good to see you out on the playground today, and I want to thank BBS for being on the playground with us, as always.

I have a question for everybody today, and it is one I have been thinking about with great contemplation: Just how ready are we to assume our absolute liberty - complete freedom? Imagine waking up tomorrow into absolute liberty and complete freedom. Are we ready for such a thing, where we are so free that we are completely responsible for every single outcome of that freedom?

Can we chew on that together today and do a little supposing about what that would mean for us? I was listening to one of Alex Collier's old recordings from, I guess, the early 1990s, when he said a really fascinating thing among the many fascinating things he was discussing. He described how humans have been so undermined as a unified consciousness that we evolved to a point at which we have to experience our enlightenment independently of one another, as individual beings. That is probably not the best paraphrase, but it was a very significant statement.

Where do we go with this idea that we are so independently fashioned from a unified experience of being what we call humanity that we have to go it alone in our remembrance and in finding our spiritual home, so to speak? That is an inside job, and we are left to our own devices as individuals. So, let's talk about it.

Apparently, in any number of higher-vibration galactic civilizations, the energies of a people are so resonant and unified that psychic decisions are made together simply by energetically aligning with a preferred solution. If you can imagine that, the nature of that kind of shared responsibility seems very unlikely in a place like Earth. It is hard to see humanity functioning in such a unified way.

That is probably part of our mystique as this thing called human. It is a wonderment, really, how mysterious we are in physical bodies, trying so hard to integrate spirit into animated physical bodies, emotional bodies, and energy going everywhere. We are emotional, animated, sensual, creative, adventuresome, and talented in many different ways. We are a myriad of dualities, too, and it is hard to think of humanity as a hive mind or anything close to it.

Yes, we build shared realities together, or we build our reality in sync with those around us. To do it like other galactic races would suggest that we have become hive-minded, but that raises the question of who we have evolved into being. We have been circumvented from unity consciousness and left to our own devices to find our own ways of being and our own ways to connect to our Source Creator.

Friends, I think that is probably to our advantage. I think it may be what has saved us from many ages of dark destruction that have come upon us. I also think it may be why things like religion have such a pull. Finding our way as independent beings and finding our own way through a lifetime is not easy in a human world.

We have found experiences that we call community, communion, and relationship, and they are a relief to us in many ways. Our God is a personal God to many people. We tend to see the Creator as individualized as we are, and we find comfort in humanizing what is essentially the energy of supreme consciousness, regardless of what supreme consciousness may actually be.

We have found comfort in humanizing what we call the God of all creation because perhaps we want to love someone instead of something, especially someone with the qualities of the father every child needs. It may be hard to reconcile suffering and strife within this relationship that we idolize. I understand that, friends.

We have pulled ourselves up by the bootstraps countless times across countless ages, and we do not have any conscious memory of that, except perhaps in the subconscious, where all of it has been pulled in and recorded. The very best of our remembrance of who we are from the beginning is there in those subconscious suitcases. Everything else is there as well. What we cannot consciously remember is pulling on us subconsciously. We can call it trauma if we want to, but it is there, pulling on us.

This most recent go-round was supposed to destroy much of humanity. This 21st-century attack on the last bastion of human will was meant to destroy us, but it did not. We were resilient, rugged, and determined. We are individual hearts beating with a shared compassion for our fellow human beings that has defied capture.

We are a breed all our own, ready to stand alone and fight for our cause. I have stood trembling in my boots, friends, determined not to move - determined to be immovable, an immovable force. I think we have all experienced those moments of immovability. They have been very difficult, but they have also been beautiful to reflect on, even in the pain. Even in the pain, we are able to venture into challenges and succeed in the dreams that come out of them.

My hat is off to you, humanity. My hat is off to you. There is something extraordinary in you, I have to tell you. And there is work to be done. There is no question about it.

We are watching the fall of an old Earth, a dark world full of dark lords. At the hands of mighty forces out there - an alliance of mighty forces - it is our turn now to stand and be counted. It is our turn to do what we do best: pull up our sleeves, step forward, and engage the fight in front of us that frees us from the inside out.

It is internal work that we do. We have to harness the progress being made and internalize it, person by person and spirit to spirit, by going within ourselves and pulling the light into this reality. When we do, we integrate resonant energies with our spirits. We integrate the quantum with the etheric, unifying the two in a sentient body.

We match the higher energy coming in, reproduce it inside our bodies with our inner sun - this solar system of energy moving through our toroidal field - and send that energy back out to the world. This is flow, friends: energy in motion. It creates a shared field of reality for all of us who engage it. We know how. It is a matter of locus of control - where our focus is.

The question I want to ponder today is this: Can the outside world - our external reality, out on the street, at our desks at work, or around the kitchen table - change before our inner world changes? Can the external change before the internal changes, or do we have to evolve our internal reality before the world outside begins to change? That is the question.

Is that not what we are doing in this Age of Aquarius, this ascension, revelation, or Armageddon - whatever term we choose to call it? We are doing the inner work. I want to talk today about the great responsibility that is coming with a new age.

Is it likely that the baggage of the old lives we are living no longer serves us? This baggage may start getting heavier and heavier, and we have to ask: What do we want to carry around? What can we put down? What can we get rid of altogether? What are we carrying that we need to release?

The answer will help determine where our locus of control tends to be. Is that control internal or external? What do we believe we control, and what do we believe is controlling us? Are we focused on returning to an internal locus of control for our spirit? Are we feeling our internal compass being reset, internalizing the “I Am” that we are?

Are we going within and cleaning house, metaphorically getting rid of the cobwebs in the closets and letting go of old wares for which we no longer have an energetic use? Does it make sense that we are activating the body with something like an etheric battery that charges us with life-force energies? We call that Christos energy, Christos energies, or Source consciousness, and we animate a human life-form with that energy. It is the good work each of us must do in our own way.

What happens to that etheric battery when we operate from an external locus of control? Where does that battery get its charge, if not from within us? Where are we getting the charge for that spiritual battery if the locus of control is external to us? It is outside what is internal for us, where we might feel that outside forces have the upper hand, are working against us, or are not in sync with the internal work we want or need to do.

The notable thing about an external locus of control is what can happen over time, perhaps over a lifetime: eventual learned helplessness. When we think about enslavement, what we get with a people who have become, over generations, an enslaved people is learned helplessness, in which each generation tends increasingly to enslave itself. I think that is a very clear expression of the history of humanity itself.

Do we stop trying to exert an internal locus of control, where the battery of our spirit is in charge of how we experience our reality? Do we stop trying? Do we normalize a sense of failure because of all these external control mechanisms coming our way? Everywhere we look, the primary effort of the environments at play seems to be control, control, control. It is everywhere in everything we do. How do we resist?

Do we finally grow into learned helplessness, throw our hands up, and say, “You cannot do anything about it. We are just going to go along to get along”? We go along with it. We register our vehicle. We pay the fine or ticket that says we must drive a certain way. We pay our taxes. The homeowners association says we cannot put up a flag, so we let it go because we feel we cannot control it.

Little things build up until that internal battery is depleted of the spiritual capacity to maintain inner integrity and inner control. We become beaten down in this human experience, a little at a time. The boss needs us to do this, so we give in. The government needs us to do that. Regulations require something else. Our child's education has rules, and we have rules for everything we do. It is fatiguing just to talk about it.

In that painful scenario, can we recognize that we are allowing old-Earth programming to come in - the painful old paradigm of external control, where virtually nothing serves us? Can we allow ourselves to be inspired to recreate a new-Earth feeling, where everything serves us because we serve it? Can we plug in those internal batteries? Can we return to the spiritual nature of who we are - our essence - and look at things differently?

It is time now, friends. It is time to get on board. It is time to begin helping those leaders and that alliance, that brotherhood working so hard to crumble an old Earth. It is time to push back, pull down, and engage something new - to begin playing on a different playground of our choosing.

How do we leave behind the external control systems of a low-density reality for something better? What does that take? We have spent a lot of time together framing our understanding of what it means to be a sovereign spirit, a sovereign entity, or a sovereign being.

We have discussed sovereignty as a reciprocity of liberties - something that, as it comes into us, we provide back. What does that really mean? Does it mean that we can be as free as we will, with complete freedom in everything, everywhere, all at once? Can we imagine experiencing absolute self-rule, supremacy over our essence, and complete dominion over our “I Am”? Can we even imagine it? Can we even imagine it?

How does a cosmos manage that kind of freedom? That is the kind of freedom a sovereign spirit expects. It is the kind of freedom a sovereign spirit was born into from a Supreme Creator. I do not know that we realize it because I do not know whether we have ever felt it yet.

What keeps us loyal to peace, harmony, and balance as masters of a universe, as it were? Do we need an inspired mechanism that assures noninterference between us and our individual interests? What would that be? How could we ensure that the force of our will is absolute while, at the same time, our will ends where the will of another begins, as a matter of reciprocity and as a self-guiding principle of sovereignty?

We have absolute freedom, absolutely reciprocated from one to another. Can we imagine that, friends - that boundaries are honored absolutely? The higher our vibration, the more capable we become of forming a mutually constrained system of sovereign expression. It is a mouthful: a mutually constrained system of sovereign self-expression.

Do we realize the nature of our sovereign spirit in all its complexity? It means that we unify forces in managing our own free will. That does not translate very well down here in this physical expression of human free will. It is not even what we typically find biblically. It is mind-boggling when we think about where we are in a material human experience and where we need to be in association with what we truly are in our essential nature.

Some people call this bounded autonomy: sovereign self-expression that is spirit in its essential nature, bounded autonomously together in a cosmos. Some call it mutuality, and we call it sovereignty.

We have not used that word very much. When we think about the 20th and 21st centuries, the word “sovereignty” fell by the wayside. It was regenerated in our vocabulary by an alliance of rescuers who decided that sovereignty was an essential conversation. Now we are talking about it. We are hearing it in discussions, dialogue, and conversation. It is becoming foundational in how we choose to create a new-Earth environment.

It is a beautiful thing. The word was virtually dead and gone, friends, and it has been brought back to life with a new breath of liberty. My freedom ends where yours begins. If we can picture that, it is a never-ending cycle of responsible liberty - a mutuality that continues as a cycle without end.

Does that sound foreign to us? It is something of an alpha-and-omega conversation. It is the infinity of our spiritual essence: this relationship of mutually constrained sovereign self-expression. Does that sound high-minded or esoteric? It is a mouthful and a lot to discuss.

What if I bring it down to a human experience that I think we can all understand? What if I told you that our return to common law is a movement back to our sovereignty? What if I told you that freedom is a flow, a relationship, and a single principle? It is a principle we find comfortably in common law. What is that principle? I think we know it. You will recognize it when I say it: Do no harm. Do no harm.

How does the idea of sovereignty relate to common law? We can take Jungian psychology and apply it comfortably to this idea. Jung referred to sovereignty as personal authority and self-regulation. He knew it was an inside job.

For all of us, it is an inside job. To Jung, that meant taking total responsibility for integrating our shadow selves with our conscious selves to become whole. We talked about this last week. In other words, we stop being collectively conditioned by the unconscious nature of our minds. We stop being traumatized and habituated by the unconscious.

We stop allowing the external constraints and controls of our environment to force external validation upon our psyches and personhood. Jung called this process individuation, in which we resist taking on group identities and social norms that undermine our responsibility to self-regulate our own minds, spirits, and bodies.

Common law guides the sovereign being who is self-regulating, responsible to self and society, and totally accountable. We do no harm because the buck stops with us. It is one example among many, but it is a beautiful and useful example.

Jung's pathway to sovereignty included several things he recommended integrating into our journey toward becoming our own sovereign selves and individuating into our own sovereign personhood. He recommended claiming inner authority. That meant pulling the shadow, or unconscious self, into the light of conscious awareness and extinguishing inauthentic behaviors that kept looping us into habit over and over again.

It meant maintaining healthy boundaries, especially psychological boundaries. It meant detaching from the need for external approval and becoming our own best counsel. It meant growing in discernment and using our inner compass to arrive at our own inner knowing.

That is the journey to wisdom we have been discussing: building our own internal knowing and conscious awareness through experience. It is the compass that leads us home to ourselves. When we think about it, that is our common law in a nutshell.

I have a particular passion for the idea of justice in a system of laws. It is my life's passion. It is a beautiful expression to me when we can bring down something high-minded and apply it to a beautiful human experience - something we can evolve very handily into our own human experience in this physical reality. That is an extraordinary opportunity for me, friends.

Can we extend this idea a little further? Is it possible to undergo energetic spiritual transformation - real, radical transformation - without taking radical responsibility for who we are becoming, how we are evolving, and the powers we intend to gain through all these changes? We know the maxim that great power requires great responsibility. We might ask ourselves whether that is what cultivating a deep morality is all about.

But what if I said it is not possible to rise into an enlightened state through a higher morality? How would you feel about that significant statement: that it is not possible to enter an enlightened state of spirituality simply by using a higher form of morality? What if, instead of embracing a heightened moral code, we completely released it?

What if we got rid of a moral code - all the trappings and restrictions - in favor of the radical responsibility of liberated celestial beings? Is it possible that “morality” is a set of synthetic rules, or an artificial code, that does not really exist in an etheric or spiritual realm?

What if measures like good and bad, right and wrong, have very little meaning in the higher realms of Source-conscious expression? What if there is a different measure for the behavior of beings in an enlightened cosmos than the measures we experience here on Earth and have created in our material reality?

What if darkness is not a way to describe moral indiscretion, but instead a way to describe where our vibrations allow us to go dimensionally or interdimensionally in the etheric realm? Let me give you an example.

The human experiment has been fraught with low-density suffering and unthinkable offenses against humanity - offenses against humanity's sovereignty and freedom. What if the higher realms decided to fold up the third-dimensional vibration altogether so that we do not fall into it again?

We have inhabited a low and slow density here on Earth that people call 3D. It is full of strife, struggle, and duality, where things are good or bad, right or wrong. What if where we are going energetically is a place where vibration, resonance, and frequency itself are the guardians at the gates?

Our vibration or resonance may integrate light codes that we use to manage our expression in a celestial order. Is it possible that this is beginning to happen for us here on the planet right now? We are in the journey right now. We are raising our vibration so we can integrate higher energetic fields that carry new codes of behavior or expression.

Even now, new notions of freedom as sovereign spirits are beginning to enter our conscious self-expression. They are beginning to enter our higher minds and our contemplation of the human experience. We are shifting into a different way of being.

Our experiences become choices in contrast - choices about what we want to experience - because we consciously create reality around those contrasts. Has humanity ever really had that capability? Given our history, is it possible that we are only newly being introduced to sovereignty as a force that orders a cosmos?

Let us think about how hard we are working to learn balance, let go, and release emotion. What does the balance we are cultivating inside truly mean? When are we most in balance? Is it when we are sitting quietly, meditating in the shade on a sunny day when all is well and the birds are singing?

Or are we most ably balanced when we are in the midst of a very difficult situation that requires calm, mindfulness, a sense of self, and mental release so we can tell ourselves that all is well, even in the chaos? When are we tethered most closely to Source consciousness - in the calm or in the storm?

The storm we are in now is blowing across the realm of human experience, breaking old systems of control and liberating humanity. Where is our best opportunity to grow in conscious awareness? We are learning to be at our very best in the face of the storm. We are getting ready for the peace on the other side.

We are doing the good work. We have put in the time, endured the hardships, and faced the darkness so that we can be ready to normalize a higher-density harmony as it shapes a new Earth and as we shape a new Earth. Not because we have mastered a moral code. Not because we simply know right from wrong. But because we have mastered our radical responsibility to function as sovereign spirits.

There will come a time on this planet when we are not fighting the system anymore. There will come a time when we are the system on the inside - self-guided. We will have chosen a higher purpose and a higher resonance that require the care of responsible sovereigns, mutually dedicated to the flow of Christos energies into the new material realms we are rebuilding.

Even if it is only in the mind's eye, even if it is only a beautiful daydream extracted from the intentions of Source consciousness to know itself in new ways, we are able to participate in the extraordinary rebuilding of a new daydream in Source consciousness.

Perhaps it is a good time to defer to what we do not know that we do not know. We can allow that extraordinary absence of certainty to create beautiful opportunities to build something new, brilliant, elegant, exuberant, vibrant, extraordinary, and magnificent from the awareness of what we do not know.

Perhaps what is happening right now is a healing journey. This journey may change us energetically, bringing clearer thinking and more heart-focused individuality and independence. We are shifting our focus toward what is peaceful, healthy, and happy as low-density suffering, sickness, and doubt leave our bodies and experiences.

These changes offer us a new way to conceive of reality - not in black and white as codes of external rules and external control that dominate us, but in living color as an internal function of the heart. We are inspired toward heart-centered choices, decisions, and preferences. As a result, we become able to handle ultimate freedom as spiritual sovereigns. It is the spirit's work to do.

Sovereignty is not a quantum idea in any scientific sense. Our intelligent design is a superimposing power upon quantum material reality. The idea is that we can shape reality by choosing where we want to resonate, which contrasts we want to experience, and how integrated we want to be in a shared field of energies that we co-create in space-time.

Humans have been very limited in that endeavor as a matter of what I describe as a dark agenda. But it is exciting to imagine that we are joining the realms of co-creators in new ways and remembering the beginnings of our spark. We animate a new reality through the choices we make in our lives.

It is time to let go of whatever holds our inner authority hostage: moral codes of many kinds, unfair legal systems, regulatory control, mass-media manipulation, and more. Can we take these things with us where we are going? Do we even want to? It is something to think about.

Since we have been talking about Jung and increasing conscious awareness, why don't we do a little Dixit card to finish our time together this afternoon? These cards have highly engaging illustrations. I select a card, and we use it to tease out subconscious reactions as we unfold an image together - a picture we build in the mind's eye.

What we are doing is moving impressions, emotions, and memories from the subconscious into conscious awareness. All we need is something to write with and something to write on, in case we want to jot down a few reflections. Today's Dixit card is a rare card. It appears in only a few decks, but it is a beautiful card.

Let us work with this beautiful card and jot down our impressions. Get out your notebook, if you would like. Get comfortable, and close your eyes if you wish. Prepare to imagine a scene that I am going to describe. Allow whatever arises to come in, and record your impressions. Do not edit anything; simply observe what comes in.

Are we ready? Here is the description of today's card. Imagine it with as much detail as possible, and notice if and when your images begin to build themselves uniquely as we go. Notice and remember as much as you can.

Your eyes are closed, and you are in the scene. You are watching a person seated at the top of a stack of boxes. The boxes are stacked as high as the first story of a building. Notice that the person sitting on top is wearing a particular outfit. What do they look like? What are their physical features? Do you recognize the person?

The person is sitting on top of a stack of boxes, but these are not just any boxes. They are presents. The person on top has a particular look on their face as they sit upon this huge mound of presents and gifts of every kind. They are looking down at the presents, and you know that look. It is easy to recognize what the person is thinking from a look like that. What is the person thinking?

There may be a reason the person is thinking that way because, at the bottom of the mound of beautiful gifts, another person is standing and looking up. The person at the bottom has something in their hand. Can you see what it is? It looks like a small present. The person is holding the present up toward the one sitting at the top of all those stacked gifts. What is in the little package?

There is a recognizable look on the face of the person standing at the bottom. What does that look mean to you? As we look around the room, what else do we notice? What else do we see before we leave the scene? Take a moment and survey the room one last time before opening your eyes.

As you open your eyes, ask yourself whether there are things you would like to jot down for reflection this week. As we come back to ourselves, observations may arise from the scene that unfolded in the mind's eye. We will welcome those observations as they come along.

I am so glad we shared a Dixit card together today, friends. I hope it serves us as a little work within the subconscious - within the subconscious suitcases we carry. It was so good to spend time together today. I am very grateful to be here with you.

I want to thank BBS for being here with us, too. We love you so much, BBS. Until next time, friends, I am going to head home.
