NEW Music Heard Between Talk Shows! We'll Be Your Favorite!

Headlined Show, Sri and Kira Live October 8, 2017

What IS True Freedom?

True Freedom is often misunderstood, because it can stimulate fear!

Reversely, sometimes the energy of  Entrapment actually feels reassuring to the inner child, thus igniting a limited sense of "freedom".  Navigating our emotions from an ascended perspective ignites  self-trust; an essential part of the Journey.

Sri and Kira will explore the dynamics of personal evolution and how understanding true Freedom can be a gateway to your personal evolution. You will want a pen and paper handy to record the insights that will support your freedom and empowerment!

This show is LIVE and the phone lines are open! Your questions and mini soul reading requests are welcome!

Headlined Show, The War Report on Public Education October 1, 2017

Please join Internet radio host Dr. James Avington Miller, Jr. this Sunday as he examines the many changing purposes of Public Education and the battle over who and what defines this purpose.

The questions he poses are: What is education? What purpose does Public Education serve? Who's interest does the purpose serve ? Who decides it purposes? Who are the architects of Public Education? How does it benefit the person educated? How does it benefit society? Do different levels of Public Education (i.e., elementary, middle / secondary, and post-secondary) have different  purposes - or, are they different parts of a continuum? What do school teachers need to know to teach to the purposes? What should teachers be able to do?

Dr. Miller will delineate a historical perspective of the changing purposes throughout the centuries that Public Education was designated to serve, and inquire what the modern needs of our 21st century are. What kind of education would be appropriate to speak to the needs of the modern student in society? What are we educating our students for? Why do you, as parents, send your children to school? Why do you, as teachers, teach?

These questions are important tools in understanding the many changing purposes of education. As there is no single right answer to any of these questions, it is up to all of us to engage our communities around these critical questions.

The People Speak Guest, Anne Watts September 27, 2016
Hypnotherapist, Counselor, Minister, Educator

Anne’s life philosophies were strongly shaped by her experience as the daughter of Alan Watts, well-known pioneer interpreter of Eastern religion and philosophy for the Western world.  At the age of 20 (in 1962) she married successful harpist Joel Andrews. Anne and Joel gave birth to two bright, musically gifted children whom they raised together until their divorce in 1972.  For the next ten years Anne was a working single parent.

Her experiences, along with her ability to empathize with people in a way that transcends social and cultural boundaries, combine in Anne to create a richly loving and compassionate person.

Anne began her formal interest in human potential in 1964 when she first studied with Virginia Satir, founder of Conjoint Family Therapy.  Her career and studies include a BA in Humanities, teaching and interpreting for the deaf and teaching Special Education in public schools.

In 1983, Anne participated in workshops offered by the Human Awareness Institute, founded by Dr. Stan Dale.  There she experienced transformation on a deep and practical level in all areas of participants’ lives; they opened their hearts to themselves and others through the magical healing power of love.  She soon realized that she had found the vehicle to manifest her life commitment, and trained to be a workshop facilitator.

She became a Certified Hypnotherapist and an educator, facilitator and counselor in the areas of Human Sexuality, sexual abuse, family stress, self-esteem, healing the “inner child,” financial and aging issues.  Since 1985, she has facilitated hundreds of workshops in the US, Australia, Japan, England and Germany.

Anne has been enthusiastically received as a guest on radio and TV, and featured in newspapers.  She is a warm and engaging speaker.  She has a successful counseling practice in Santa Rosa, California where she lives in a deeply loving relationship with her husband, Mark Kupke, who has been her partner since 1984.

About Alan Watts

Early Years

Alan Watts was born in London in 1915, at the start of the first World War. At a young age he became fascinated with the Far East, and at fourteen he began to write and was published in the Journal of the London Buddhist Lodge before writing his first booklet on Zen in 1932. He moved to New York in 1938 and then to Chicago, where he served as an Episcopal priest for six years before leaving the Church. In 1950, he moved to upstate New York before going on to San Francisco to teach at the Academy of Asian Studies. Among Alan Watts' earliest influences were the novelist Sax Rohmer and Zen scholars D.T. Suzuki and Christmas Humpreys. In late 1950, he visited with Joseph Campbell and composer John Cage in NYC.

Worldview

Alan Watts was profoundly influenced by the East Indian philosophies of Vedanta and Buddhism, and by Taoist thought, which is reflected in Zen poetry and the arts of China and Japan. After leaving the Church, he never became a member of another organized religion, and although he wrote and spoke extensively about Zen Buddhism, he was criticized by American Buddhist practicioners for not sitting regularly in zazen. Alan Watts responded simply by saying, "A cat sits until it is done sitting, and then gets up, stretches, and walks away."

1950's and early '60's

After teaching at the Academy of Asian Studies in San Francisco, he became Dean and began to give regular radio talks on KPFA, the Berkeley free radio station. In 1957, he published his bestselling Way of Zen, and in 1958 returned to Europe where he met with C.G. Jung. He was an early subject in pioneering psychedelic trials, and, after recording two seasons of the public television series Eastern Wisdom and Modern Life, traveled to Japan several times in the early sixties. By the late sixties, he had become a counterculture celebrity, and traveled widely to speak at universities and growth centers across the US and Europe.

Later Years

By the early seventies, Alan Watts had become a foremost interpreter of Eastern thought for the West, and was widely published in periodicals including Earth, Elle, Playboy, and Redbook. He appeared on CBS television's Camera Three in 1969, and in 1971 he recorded a pilot for a new show titled A Conversation with Myself for NET, the precursor to PBS. When the series was not produced, he recorded the shows with his son Mark and his long-time audio archivist Henry Jacobs in 1972. Overall, Alan Watts developed an extensive audio library of nearly 400 talks and wrote more than 25 books during his lifetime, including his final volume, Tao: The Watercourse Way. Alan Watts died in his sleep in November of 1973, after returning from an intensive international lecture tour.

Life Changes Show Guest, Dr Christian Peter Wagner September 26, 2016
Educational Psychologist in Artificial Intelligence, Co-Founder of The Product Development and Manufacturing Center, and Author

DR CHRISTIAN PETER WAGNER

For survival initially, and then by interest, Chris has always been focused on understanding what it means to be human AND how to improve the human condition by the use of technology.

This focus has kept him with a bit of a split personality for most of his life – as he struggled to figure out how to integrate the mathematics and precision of being a professor of Engineering for 35 years, AND the spiritual transformative experiences of visits from Divine Energies.

His research area as a professor has been Artificial Intelligence – he has worked for years helping to bring human intelligence into computers, with doctoral students scattered in many places around the globe taking his understanding of AI into really real world scenarios!

His teaching in spirit has been propelled by his forced entry into trance channeling – wherein he opens up to Divine Source and lets unexpected and unplanned beautiful words

flow into his consciousness.

Chris’ current focus are many:

1. The Soul Engineering Website – a major revision coming soon – soulengineering.com

2. Two new books, both in 2nd draft and to be done by the end of the year.

a. One is the Biography of his wife, Starr Porter –

b. The second is a book on deep romance

3. Involvement in a new movie that starts shooting in January and should be out by the end of the year that shows the common ground between all people in a drama set in Iraq.

4. The Human Operating System – what we do not know DOES HURT US! Perhaps the most important thing that Socrates ever said were those two words – KNOW THYSELF As we learn more about HOW WE WORK IN THE BODY, we gain control, compassion, delight, love, and expansion for our lives.

5. Muze from Senso Laboratories – a new technology that takes information on a person’s individual biometrics to HYPER-Personalize how your life can be made better by computer technology.

We are all in this together!

The time is now for those of good heart to come together – the world needs our interconnectivity and support NOW!!!

Life Changes Show Guest, Michael Barnum September 26, 2016
Singer Songwriter

MICHAEL BARNUM

Michael Barnum is a singer-songwriter born and raised in Long Beach, California. Fusing sounds of pop, rock, and soul, Barnum’s sound is all his own. With a strong presence in the Los Angeles and Orange County music scenes, he has performed at events and venues across Southern California, including the 626 Night Market, the Moon Festival, a residency at Kafe Neo, The World Famous Doll Hut and The Mint, among others.

The Mint in Los Angeles hailed Barnum to have, “…the unique ability to bring his pitch-perfect voice from a delicate almost whisper, to a roar, all without losing that desirable tone and pitch all singers strive for.”

A self-taught guitar player, he grew up in a musical household playing piano, singing and acting. As an actor, Barnum has appeared in many productions from rock musicals like Spring Awakening and Next to Normal to classics like The King and I. He graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a degree in Theatre Arts.

While performing locally as a musician and actor, he found his biggest audience through live streaming apps, Periscope and Krue, where thousands of followers world-wide tune in each week to watch live broadcasts of his concerts. It was these fans that encouraged him to full-heartedly pursue a music and songwriting career.

Barnum released his debut album Trust in September 2016 after a highly successful crowdfunding campaign—with an outpouring of support from his fans around the world he made 122% of his goal. He co-wrote the entire album which was produced by David Chua Boon Ghee (Andy Grammer, Jessie J, Rachel Platten, One Direction). The songs on Trust are deep, meaningful and based on Barnum’s own personal experience. They explore the journey of finding one’s place in the world and trusting in the path that you’re on.

With uplifting melodies, powerful lyrics and stirring vocals, Barnum delivers a sound reminiscent of artists like Ed Sheeran, Andy Grammer and John Legend. On the heels of the release of Trust, Barnum is planning a West Coast tour and album release concert to-be-announced.
