The Newsroom, Blogs, Articles, Featured Guests, Headlined Shows and Indie Music
Maria Sanchez is back and our guest this week is actor JLouis Mills from NBC's hit television series 'Heartbeat'! We'll be talking about his life 'before' the hit series when he spent some time homeless and 'after' the series ended in 2016, and what he's up to currently with his new radio talk show 'ON THE LEVEL' every Wed at 8pm PST / 11pm EST on BBS Radio! Join us!
Today’s guest Masequa Myers, Executive Director, South Side Community Art Center and Illinois State Representative La Shawn K. Ford, Vice Chair of the Illinois Committee on Tourism, the show should be lively and informative.
SSCAC a popular tourist attraction, has been instrumental in launching the careers of many nationally and internationally established artists, from the era of the Works Progress Administration (President Roosevelt) to the present. Illinois Poet Laureate Gwendolyn Brooks wrote and taught at the Art Center, Award winning Photographer Gordon Parks had his first darkroom in the basement of the SSCAC; and Charles White and Elizabeth Catlett shared what they learned from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago with other artists who could not afford the tuition.
Please join Internet radio host Dr. James Avington Miller Jr. for our second show about the Community Schools movement. Dr. Miller will continue to discuss the history of Community Schools and explain what they are today and what they can be tomorrow.
Dr. Miller will pick up where he left off last week and discuss community schools from the Jane Addams Community School to current community schools. He will talk about university-assisted community schools, full-service community schools, and 21st century community schools. He will discuss the politics involved and the changing role of teachers and parents in these schools.
Most Importantly, he will discuss the many different purposes of these models of community schools.
Please listen in and call in this Sunday. Knowledge is power. This may be our last chance to save our public schools.
Hard to believe that after all of these years doing "Insight Out--the Naked Truth," (5 and counting) we've never featured the phrase, "That's Insightful." Well, guess what tonight's phrase of the week is. "That's Insightful."

CLASSIC ROCK LEGENDS
'THE BABYS'
An Interview with Guitarist Wally Stocker
Wally Stocker, born in England, is perhaps best known as the lead guitarist with The Babys. Wally’s distinct style, reminiscent of Paul Kossoff (Free), gave The Babys a distinct, recognizable sound. That sound has found its way back home with the reforming of The Babys!
When The Babys disbanded in 1981 Wally toured with Rod Stewart and Air Supply, as well as Humble Pie – Featuring Jerry Shirley, Jimmy Barnes and Zoomer.
Wally recently made the cross-country move from Florida back to California! We welcome him back with open arms and huge smiles.
With Les Paul in hand – and trusty Marshall stack at his back, Wally is back where he belongs!
The Babys are a rock group best known for their songs “Isn’t It Time” and “Every Time I Think of You“. Both songs reached #13 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart in the late 1970s. The 1976–1978 Babys line-up consisted of keyboardist/guitarist Michael Corby, vocalist/bassist John Waite, drummer Tony Brock and guitarist Wally Stocker.
After Corby left the band in August 1978, a replacement was sought and the company brought in two musicians: Jonathan Cain as keyboardist and Ricky Phillips to take over as bassist. From 1979 until the breakup in 1981, The Babys line-up consisted of vocalist Waite, drummer Brock, bassist Phillips, guitarist Stocker, and keyboardist Cain.
After the breakup, John Waite went on to produce a major solo hit, “Missing You“, and continues to be a solo artist today. Jonathan Cain left to join Journey. John Waite, Jonathan Cain and Ricky Phillips formed Bad English in the late 1980s. Ricky Phillips currently plays for Styx. Wally Stocker and Tony Brock (together and separately) worked with Rod Stewart and other mainstream artists including Elton John, Air Supply, Keith Urban and Humble Pie.
In late 2012, auditions were held to find suitable replacements for the departed members. Joining original Babys Tony Brock and Wally Stocker, are John Bisaha (Lead Vocals/Bass) and Joey Sykes (Guitars). The new lineup have played numerous shows over the past year to great crowds and reviews – while pushing forward with new music to be brought to The Babys FANS – who have been sorely neglected low these many years! The new album – I’ll Have Some of That – was released worldwide on June 24, 2014.
Joining The Babys onstage are “The Babettes’ – Holly Bisaha and Elisa Chadbourne, along with keyboardists Francesco Saglietti and Brian Johnson.
The Band is about to release a new video for “Not Ready to Say Goodbye” very soon!
The Babys bring a full sound and look that has not been seen on the ‘scene’ in MANY years!

Author, Quantum Science of Psychedelics
As a young scientist, Carl Johan Calleman was mentored to a PhD in Physical Biology by a member of the Nobel committee in Stockholm, and later served as a Senior Researcher at the University of Washington in Seattle.
Dr. Calleman's 20 year research work with the Mayan calendar has revealed the code map of cosmic cycles allegedly given to an ancient Mayan leader by four 'star people' and then chiseled into the calendar stone.
Calleman's scholastic presentations on this calendar in worldwide lectures followed publishing of three previous books: Solving the Greatest Mystery of Our Time, The Mayan Calendar and the Transformation of Consciousness and The Purposeful Universe, which have been translated into fourteen languages.
Even though populist media spun the narrative of the Mayan calendar with doomsday predictions and the blockbuster 2012 movie, Dr. Calleman has consistently maintained that the Mayan calendar is about the evolution of consciousness -- changing people on the inside -- in resonance with the cosmic cycles of the quantum field that the Mayan Calendar brilliantly maps.
From this perspective, the Mayan calendar remains the most important source for us to grasp the divine time plan for the evolution of humanity. In fact, with the shift in the Mayan calendar in 2011-2012, the evolution of the human mind to communion with the unified field is only beginning!
"The first novel idea about the rise of civilization in many decades."
James Redfield, author of The Celestine Prophecy
In his recent book, The Global Mind and the Rise of Civilization, Dr. Calleman describes how deep and fundamental the consequences of the shift in the Mayan calendar has been for our worldview, a shift that is only now beginning to make itself known through a new social conscience in our global social networks.
Dr. Calleman describes the pivotal mental shift that created early civilizations; what inspired the ancient Egyptians, Sumerians, Jews and Mayans, outlining a new theory about the historical, psychological, geophysical, and neurological roots of the human mind.
We may finally understand why monuments such as the pyramids and Stonehenge were built at the same time. This theory goes on to explain how a global mind, rather than the individual, has had the power to make empires rise and fall.
This unified plan plays out in a coherent way on our planet because everyone is connected to one and the same Global Mind, as evidenced in the book. Going from the unity of pre-history through the separation of civilization, the process of return to unity with a higher level of civilization has now begun.
The revelations in this book resonate with the new insights of InnerNet futurists and quantum physicists, that the divine destiny of global humanity is now emerging with a profound understanding of the worldwide web of consciousness. These new insights in The Global Mind and the Rise of Civilization explains 72 factors at http://calleman.com/72-things-that-volume-1-explains/ that previously have not been understood, including where the human mind comes from, what it is and the role of its "downloading" in shaping the early civilizations of humanity.
An entirely new theory has thus been developed to explain why, for instance, the Egyptians only a few generations after having left the stone age, were able to build colossal pyramids with an astounding geometric accuracy. In this new theory, all human creativity is generated by a divine mind in which all humans share and which allows us to develop in concert with one another -- and for events to happen on schedule. This divine mind is mediated by the Earth and -- contrary to what the modern educational system and official science is saying -- the human mind is not a product of the brain. This is one of the most significant paradigm shifts for us to ponder; almost everyone will have to reconsider their worldviews.
A gateway of understanding has opened up to help us comprehend not only collective consciousness and psi phenomena, but also mental disorders. This first volume of The Paradigm Shift Trilogy provides the basis for how humans may craft the global mind of the future, and recreate our world.
For those who are serious about personal and planetary conscious evolution, there is wisdom to be gained with 'The Global Mind'.
Destiny Architect
Linda Brewer is a Destiny Architect. Building relationships in truth that Empower People, Align Principles, and Enhance Processes for Prosperity and Profits. A defining moment in my life: “I remember when I was five years old, looking up at a very tall adult, placing my hands on my hips and saying, ‘that is not what you meant.’” In spite of the adverse reaction of that adult, I can hear and observe when someone’s words are out of alignment with their behaviors and outcomes. I discerned that the issue of their heart is self-condemnation that creates fear, relational, financial and success issues.
My passion and my gift are to create a safe place for a person to connect with their sacred heart and discover the root lie they believe about themselves that is affecting their life. The core of the truth they need to receive is that each of us is love. I help my clients realize they can choose to live their lives in truth through awareness of the lies they believed when their fear is activated through a current experience. I believe, to heal any problem, a person has to heal the source. The source is the memories they have stored in their sacred heart—their subconscious, their cellular memories.
My focused commitment to all my clients is to create a safe space and to ask thoughtful questions, so they feel encouraged and worthy of love. The choice is theirs to move through theirs fears and addictions into love and truth that creates loving thoughts, words, and actions.
My entrepreneurial career has included Business Management, Accounting, Sales and Marketing, and Facilitation for Organizational and Personal Growth, a former Vistage International chair. She created two successful companies, including her company, LSG Advertising, Inc., and Crowns Now. Her organization also serves other high profile companies, including Milliken, Volvo, BMW, DS2, and AgFirst.

God Exists But Gawd Does Not by David Ray Griffin
"God" has been the most embattled idea in the modern world. The lives of many people revolve around God; without God, they believe, life would be unbearable. Others regard the idea of God as the worst, most destructive, idea ever invented. The one group finds the evidence for God overwhelming; the other group finds the same for atheism.
The debate has centered around the idea of God as the creator of the world. Many philosophers, theologians, and scientists have assumed that, if we would simply add up the good arguments for and against the existence of God, we could reach agreement, one way or the other.
But in this book, David Ray Griffin argues that progress on this issue will be impossible unless we distinguish between two radically different ideas of a divine creator, which he calls "Gawd" and "God." Whereas there is overwhelming evidence against the existence of Gawd, there is also overwhelming evidence for the reality of God.
After looking at this evidence, the book illustrates the importance of this distinction for the issue of climate change.
Andromeda Council representative
Tolec is a human representative of the Andromeda Council, an intergalactic, interstellar and interdimensional governance & development body of aligned benevolent star systems & planets of sentient, intelligent life, for worlds in both the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies.
He’s been given the name “Tolec” as an Earth based, pubic-persona name by the five (5) people with whom he regularly communicates… who are stationed on the primary Andromeda Council biosphere. There are presently 12 Andromeda Council biospheres stationed in this solar system, 3 relatively close to Earth.
Tolec’s first conscious, fully awake contact as an adult in 1993 was with his principal Andromeda Council contact person, the commander of the primary Andromeda Council biosphere who, like Tolec, is originally from the planet Dakote… in the Taygeta star system, in the Pleiades.
Tolec learned from this man that Tolec’s soul origin was first birthed on the planet Dakote, the genesis planet of the Lakota, Dakota, Nakota and many other western Native American peoples.
In late summer of 1993, this same commander took Tolec on 3 closely clustered together, but separate, time-travel trips, via an Andromeda Council scout craft, back in time to the 1840s to an area of rural Kentucky or West Virginia to observe a family of four in their day-to-day life struggles.
Tolec’s Andromeda Council contact people indicate they’ve been in communication with him by various methods… since age 5.
Tolec says his communication with them happens via a variety of modalities:
(1) Telepathic communication while he is completely awake & conscious
(2) Communication with him in his sleep, ‘dream state’
(3) Brief ‘snap-shot’, photographic images, as well as ‘streaming movie shorts’
(4) Some automatic writing
(5) Interdimensional travel of his soul essence, as well as the physical travel of his Earth human body, to Andromeda Council biospheres where many council & sub-committee meetings are held - where Tolec also holds a position on the “Joint Earth Council” – sub committee.
Tolec is aware of in excess of 100+ physical visits he’s had to the primary Andromeda Council biosphere that continues today.

Reiki Master/Teacher and Equine Massage Therapist
My name is Bill O’Connell. I live in a small mountain town in Colorado called Guffey. I am a Reiki Master/Teacher and an Equine Massage Therapist. I became a massage therapist in January 2013 through the Rocky Mountain School of Animal Acupressure and Massage. I initially learned Reiki levels 1 & 2 to add to my massage practice in March 2014. Little did I know then how Reiki would change my life. I thought I was just going to learn how to do energy work with horses and better my massage practice and hopefully increase my business. But Reiki had different plans for me. It changed my life! One month after being attuned to levels one & two I found myself in my first yoga class, and on that same day became a vegetarian! My path to my own healing and self-transformation had begun. From that first day of being attuned to Reiki in March 2014, it became my way of life. I loved it immediately. I have used Reiki for myself and others, including animals, every day since that first day. Reiki has also become my spiritual path. It has guided me and lifted me to new spiritual heights. I knew I had found the road I was meant to be on, the Road of Reiki!
In April 2015, I became a Reiki Master/Teacher and became an affiliate member of the Reiki Membership Association. This association is through the International Center for Reiki Training. I love teaching and sharing Reiki with others. I feel very blessed to be able to do this. I teach classes at a few different locations in Colorado, as well as do Reiki sessions for people and animals. I have also taught in Alaska and soon to teach in North Carolina. I will also travel anywhere in Colorado where we can put a class together. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in coming to a scheduled class, or having me come to your location to teach a class or classes, or if you have any questions about Reiki. I teach all levels of Reiki: Levels 1 & 2 and Advanced Reiki Training & Reiki Master Training. These classes are all Usui/Holy Fire Reiki.
