To Be Or Not To Be by Douglas Newsom

If I could reach out and hold your heart
I’d stave off the dark and return the stars
Carry your name through the wind
Across the seas and back again

If I could just once bottle your tears
I’d carry them with me through the years
Showering the earth a million times over
Covering the land with four leaves of clover

If I could just couple your hands in mine
I’d banish the seasons for all of time
Call forth the angels to bring back our Eden
And open all eyes so the whole world could see them

But if you didn’t find that this made you happy
I’d wilt every flower cut down all the trees
Banish the birds banish the bees
Vanish the water from ocean to ocean
Level the mountains halt the winds motion
Rip out the sky and tear it asunder
Snuff out the stars the spring and the summer
Then start Armageddon so everything dies

So it would be best to give me your heart
Bottle your tears every one that you drop
And couple your hands forever in mine
Or Life will end because everything’s dying

On A Snowy Winter's Day by Douglas Newsom

I know the man whose woods are here
He's made his home in the village near
He'll not see me gazing round
Upon snowy woods so crisp and clear

My weathered mare now looks my way
As if to question why we stay
In a place so calm so cold so queer
Where the nights so cold this winter's day

The only sounds the night bestows
Are whimpering winds the tingling snow
Then harness bells ring out a cry
As the mare awaits impatient though

There's beauty here in woods so deep
But should I stay I'd surely sleep
So must I go before too long
It's calling me, an endless peace

Chorus: While snow falls down, the world stands still
Silver quiet on the hill
Woods call soft, but I can’t stay
In the twinkling white that bars my way

Music Description: style like phantom of the opera

Bones by Douglas Newsom and AI

[Verse 1]
Place the rose on the hill by my feet,
near the end of the lane where I lie,
And break not the earth when you leave.
Have respect for the dead when they die. Disturb not the bones that are buried herein,
nor the leaves or the twigs on the mound.
Just leave as you came, in just the same way.
Give respect for the dead in the ground.

[Chorus]
Where I lie, where I lie,
In the silence beneath the wide sky,
Respect for the dead, let them rest,
In the earth where their souls are at best.
Disturb not the peace they have found,
Honor the quiet in the ground.

[Verse 2]
Whisper a prayer if your heart feels the call,
but step softly on soil that I claim,
For echoes of laughter and tears one and all,
now fade into nothing but name. Let the wind carry stories untold,
through the branches that sway overhead,
No markers of gold, just the cold,
for the humble repose of the dead.

[Chorus]
Where I lie, where I lie,
In the silence beneath the wide sky,
Respect for the dead, let them rest,
In the earth where their souls are at best.
Disturb not the peace they have found,
Honor the quiet in the ground.

[Verse 3]
Shadows may creep as the daylight retreats,
over stones worn by time's steady hand,
Memories sleep in the roots at my feet,
in the hush of this forgotten land. Do not linger in sorrow or grief,
for the cycle turns ever anew,
Just bow to the brief, find relief,
in the truth that awaits me and you.

[Chorus]
Where I lie, where I lie,
In the silence beneath the wide sky,
Respect for the dead, let them rest,
In the earth where their souls are at best.
Disturb not the peace they have found,
Honor the quiet in the ground.

[Verse 4]
When seasons have spun their eternal thread,
and the world moves on without a trace,
Remember the words that the silent have said,
in this sacred, unchanging place. Place your token and turn from the gate,
carry light from the dark that I know,
For death is but fate, not debate,
and in stillness, true freedom will grow.

[Chorus]
Where I lie, where I lie,
In the silence beneath the wide sky,
Respect for the dead, let them rest,
In the earth where their souls are at best.
Disturb not the peace they have found,
Honor the quiet in the ground.

The Walls I've Made by Douglas Newsom

I stand here shivering a little in the cold
Gazing out where the earth's secrets unfold
Park like lines stretch under the sky so white
Simple beauty in the shadows they hide

(CHORUS)
Casting shades of varying light
Not insignificant what the finch might find
Hidden treasures in the earth's embrace
Yet they fall away from the walls I've made

Nuts lay burrowed in small knolls below
Whispers of life in the quiet snow
The world reveals what my heart denies
Treasures waiting under open skies

Those rock wall I've built standing tall and gray
Keep the light off push the warmth away
But in the cold I see it clear
The simple beauty drawing near

(CHORUS)
Casting shades of varying light
Not insignificant what the finch might find,
Hidden treasures in the earth's embrace
Yet they fall away from those walls I've made.

And fade away...

Music Description: modern indie folk artist, gentle acoustic guitar melody with a slow, introspective tempo (around 80 BPM), contemplative tone, nature imagery, subtle introspection

Year of The Most High by Donald Newsom

[Verse]
The clock it broke its chains today
The old world crumbled into clay
Dust of kingdoms
Swept away

[Prechorus]
The sky it roars
A thundered vow
The earth bows low
It knows it now

[Chorus]
This is the year of the most high
Rise up
Rise up
No alibi
Prepare your soul
Let shadows die
This is the year of the most high

[Verse 2]
The calendar's torn
Its edges burned
Time’s rebellion
The page has turned
No retreat
No bridge unearned

[Prechorus]
The stars align
Their fire sings
The truth ascends on golden wings

[Chorus]
This is the year of the most high
Rise up
Rise up
No alibi
Prepare your soul
Let shadows die
This is the year of the most high
