Opening the Door to Direct Personal Experiences

In this episode of Signs of Life from the Forever Family Foundation, hosts Dr. Betty Kovacs, Janet Mayer, and Kimberly Saavedra focus on personal encounters that point toward survival of consciousness and continuing bonds with loved ones after death. Kimberly explains that while mediums can provide meaningful connections, this episode is centered on direct experiences from listeners: signs, synchronicities, communications, and moments that challenge mainstream assumptions about life, death, and the afterlife.

Loved Ones Working Quietly in the Background

Before taking callers, Janet shares a reflection prompted by a friend who wondered why a recently deceased loved one had not sent more obvious signs. Janet suggests that loved ones may not always appear in dramatic ways, but may instead be working in the background. She gives two personal examples involving her mother, Carol: one at a doctor’s office where “Carl” was mistakenly read as “Carol,” and another after a difficult year of ovarian cancer, thyroid cancer, and her mother’s passing, when she unexpectedly received a call scheduling the PET scan her mother had repeatedly urged her to get.

Al’s Pendulum Messages and a New Form of Communication

The first major caller, Al, describes how his daughter introduced him to tarot and pendulum work, leading him to discover that a pendulum could spell out detailed messages through alphabet charts. He says his first message was the word “meditate,” and that over time he began receiving teachings from guides, including what he describes as information about energetic waves, soul pathways, realms, dimensions, and communication with people who have died, people in comas, people with Alzheimer’s, and autistic non-speakers. The hosts listen with interest while also keeping the program focused on personal experience and encouraging Al to consider sharing his extensive material through a website, podcast, or other dedicated platform.

Messages That Heal and the Need for Discernment

Al also shares that he has received deeply personal messages for others, including one for his daughter-in-law from her deceased maid of honor. He says that message helped her feel her friend’s continuing presence and gave her courage to change her life. The hosts respond with appreciation, curiosity, and discernment, noting that spirit can communicate in many unexpected ways. Betty asks him to share a brief definition he has received for “love,” and he offers a poetic description of love as a force that burns inside the soul, allows compassion, answers doubt, heals wounds, and wipes away pain.

Grief, Afterlife Patterns, and Building a Personal Understanding

Caller Melanie reflects on Al’s description of receiving information about what happens after death, connecting it to her own grief after her daughter’s passing. She mentions reading afterlife-related works and finding comfort in patterns that appear across different accounts. The hosts affirm that while every person’s experience is unique, recurring themes from near-death experiences, mediumship, after-death communication, and spiritual testimony can help people process grief, loosen its grip, and build a more expansive understanding of consciousness continuing beyond the body.

Susie the Parking Lot Angel

Caller Eileen shares a warm and humorous series of signs involving her husband’s cousin Susie, whom she now calls her “parking lot angel.” She first describes hospital experiences where the name “Susie” appeared in unusual ways around surgery, then tells several stories of asking Susie for help finding parking spaces and receiving them almost immediately, including at concerts, in Los Angeles, and at Walmart. The hosts enjoy the humor and tenderness of these stories, noting that signs from loved ones often preserve personality, playfulness, and everyday usefulness.

Laughter, Joy, and the Continuing Presence of Spirit

The episode closes with the hosts reflecting on how laughter and small practical signs can help soften grief and remind people that their loved ones remain connected. Janet emphasizes that signs do not always arrive as dramatic events; they may come through names, timing, music, parking spaces, or quiet background support. Betty adds that joy and laughter are healing not only for grieving people but also for the Earth itself. The program ends with gratitude for the callers and the Mahayama prayer, asking that all beings be fulfilled, awakened, liberated, free, and at peace.

Welcome to Signs of Life: Exploring Survival of Consciousness, brought to you by Forever Family Foundation, on the web at foreverfamilyfoundation.org.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly Saavedra / Co-Host:
Hello, and welcome to Signs of Life Radio. This episode is about personal encounters and exploring the afterlife. We invite you to join us and share your personal experiences that defy mainstream beliefs, or challenge mainstream beliefs, and we will explore the various types of experiences that people have, what they mean, and how we can integrate them into our daily lives.

Although mediums provide a valuable connection to the deceased, this episode is about your direct personal experiences. Your co-hosts for this evening are Dr. Betty Kovacs, Janet Mayer, and myself, Kimberly Saavedra. I am director of the Comlock Center in California. Betty is author of The Miracle of Death, There Is Nothing But Life, and Merchants of Light: Consciousness That Is Changing the World. Our friend Janet Mayer is a Forever Family Foundation certified medium and author of Spirits... They Are Present.

We all welcome you to the show this evening, and we want you to call in with a comment, a question, or some feedback on anything you hear tonight. The call-in number for North America is 888-627-6008. That is 888-627-6008. For callers outside of North America, please call 1-323-744-4831.

Good evening, Betty and Janet. We have Christine on the phone already. But yes, good evening.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
Hi, Kim. How are you doing?

Speaker 2 - Kimberly Saavedra / Co-Host:
Just great. Just great. It is exciting to see we already have a caller.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
Actually, we do not. Why did you say that?

Speaker 2 - Kimberly Saavedra / Co-Host:
Because she thought it was for Mediums and Messages, so she hung up.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
Oh, how did you get that information? I want to know.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly Saavedra / Co-Host:
It is on your chat box.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
Oh, I read that. I was looking at it, but I thought you were doing your mediumship. I thought she was not there, but I thought the producer announced her. How do you know why she is here?

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
That is funny. I give you a go as a medium.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly Saavedra / Co-Host:
Oh, but now we have Debbie from California calling.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
Oh, well, never mind. This is so funny. People are thinking tonight is the Mediums and Messages show. We are sorry. Tonight is not that show. This is about your personal experiences.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
It is the second one. I also think that so many people have experiences to share, so please call in and share some with us. In the meantime, we will greet each other and share what is going on.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
Yes. It is interesting because sometimes it is wonderful to have a medium, Janet, since you are one, but we also always want to encourage others. That is what this show is about: being open to your own experiences, because mediumship is possible with every human being. You have said we have the anatomy, right? One has it, and we pretty much all have it.

But until we get a caller, Janet, what is on your mind tonight?

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
I was thinking about this. I sit down on Thursday before a show, and I meditate on what comes to me. Something happened the other day. I was talking to one of my friends, and she commented about someone very close to her who had passed. She was a little surprised that she had not received more signs.

You do think that someone you are close to and love will come through right away with signs. You think they are going to show you something, and you are going to know they are okay and everything is good. She also said that maybe they are with her kids. I said, “Yes, I think that is probably the case, but I also feel like a lot of times our loved ones are working in the background.”

It suddenly dawned on me. I had two instant thoughts of things that have happened. The first one was that I was at the doctor last week. I took a fall a month ago, so I have been going around, and I was at the doctor. They ask you to fill out all the forms, and it is the same stuff you always do. The woman looked up and said, “Okay, and your point of contact is Carol.”

I stopped and looked at her and said, “No, that would be Carl.” She said, “Oh, yes, it does say Carl. I said Carol.” I said, “Well, Carol was my mom's name.” So I immediately thought, “Okay, my mom is coming through and saying, ‘Hey, I am supporting you. I am here with you as you go on this journey with what you have to go through.’”

When I was meditating today, it brought me back to 2010. I had ovarian cancer. I had to have surgery and go through all of that, and I was fine. Then seven months later, I had thyroid cancer, and that was very difficult. I went through that, so it was a really rough year for me. At the end of the year, my mom passed.

The whole time, my mom was saying, “Get a PET scan. You need to get a PET scan.” I said, “Mom, if I need one, they are going to tell me to get one. They are not just going to give me a PET scan.” She said, “You need to get one.” I said, “No, I am fine. They have not said anything. They said everything is fine. Everything is clear.” So I never really thought about it.

After she passed, not even a month later, I got a call from one of the doctor's offices. They said, “We have you down for a PET scan.” I was like, “What?” They said, “Yes, we have you down for a PET scan.” I said, “Well, how did that happen? I have not been back, and there is nothing that says that.”

It was a really cool story, as if my mom was working in the background to make sure I got what she thought I needed.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
That is phenomenal.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
It is wild. I mean, that is not a scan you just get every day. That is a tough one to get. They just called me and said, “You are getting that.” I was like, “Okay.” I feel like our loved ones are in the background as well, so we have to remember that.

I think we do have a caller.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly Saavedra / Co-Host:
Yes, we do. Welcome, Al.

Speaker 5 - Al / Caller:
Good evening. How are you?

Speaker 2 - Kimberly Saavedra / Co-Host:
Good. Thanks for calling in.

Speaker 5 - Al / Caller:
Thanks for taking my call. I appreciate it very much.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly Saavedra / Co-Host:
Are we here for experiences?

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
Yes. Share your personal experience.

Speaker 5 - Al / Caller:
This is a little bit of a story, and it leads to abilities that I have acquired.

It has been about three years now. My daughter came to visit me, and she was learning how to do tarot cards. She wanted to go to a spirit store, so I went with her. She was looking for a pendulum. She said, “When I am doing tarot and I get to a point where I need a yes-or-no answer, I get the pendulum out. I ask a yes-or-no question, and then I can move on.”

She said, “You should get one.” I said, “Well, I know nothing about that. You get one for me.” So she did. I brought it home and did not do anything with it for a couple of weeks. After she was gone, I pulled it out and started playing with it. I started asking a question. I said, “Okay, if it is yes, rotate clockwise.” It did. Then I said, “Okay, now for yes, spin counterclockwise.” It did.

I thought, “Okay, there is something here.” I went back to the store, and they had these charts. I bought a chart about relationships and used the pendulum. It did not just go to one answer when I asked the question. It would go to a couple. If you imagine half a pie cut into slices, there were answers in each slice. It would swing to multiple answers, and when you put those together, it formed a sentence.

I said, “There is intelligence here.” So I went back to the store and looked around. I thought, “How can I extract more intelligence out of this?” I found one with an alphabet on it. Again, it is like half a pie, and each slice is a letter of the alphabet.

I did it again. I did not know what I was doing at that point. The very first message I got, which was about three days ago, would have been a year to the day. It was a one-word message. That word was “meditate.”

I did not do anything. I did not meditate. I was shocked. I thought, “What?” I went back the next day, and they said “meditate.” I did not say it out loud. I thought, “Why?” And they answered me. I am sorry. I did not expect to be on so quickly, and I will keep talking until I find it.

That began a whole process of guides teaching me things. They wanted me to learn how to communicate with them so they could teach me things that, in turn, I would share. In addition to that, and I will get into those messages in a second, they also gave me the ability to channel messages from beings who are deceased. I also have the ability to channel people who are in a coma, people who have Alzheimer's, and autistic non-speakers.

Those are very impactful. Full disclosure: I just received the ability from them to do that. I have not had an autistic non-speaker present yet, but I have done Alzheimer's, coma, and many messages from beings who are deceased.

The interesting thing about it is that I know channeling is a very personal thing. For me, the beings give me whatever they want to say, their messages, letter by letter, word by word, sentence by sentence. It is from their higher being. I do not get, “Aunt Betty is in the kitchen with you,” or whatever. What I get is exactly what the person who is asking for the message needs to hear, not necessarily what they want to hear.

I have had messages from fathers who were murdered because they were caught cheating, and the daughter wanted a message. I have had messages from people who killed other people, and the son never knew why he did it. I have had messages from adoptive mothers, or mothers who had to give their child away in adoption, and the son never knew the mother. They are very impactful messages. It is very humbling and very personal to get in that space with these people and be able to communicate.

There was one message in particular. My daughter-in-law got married about two years ago, and her maid of honor passed away almost a year to the day after the wedding. My daughter-in-law was obviously very distraught. I have permission to talk about it, so I normally would never talk about a message for someone. This was the very first time I did one that was not remote. My daughter-in-law was there.

I had the message already, and I had her come over because her friend wanted me to hug her while I was saying these very tender things about their childhood memories. The message said, “I will always be with you when times are difficult. Do not be afraid,” and things like that. It really changed her life. She quit her job, which she was not happy at, and started her own business. Now she is very happy. She knows her friend is always with her.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
That is beautiful, because she knows that if her friend is with her, there is a whole other world, another dimension. That could change her life.

Speaker 5 - Al / Caller:
One hundred percent. I do not know if I am taking up too much time.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly Saavedra / Co-Host:
You are fine. Do not worry about that.

Speaker 5 - Al / Caller:
Okay. The knowledge that I get from these beings - and by the way, I have thousands of my messages, and they are all date- and time-stamped. I handwrite them as I am receiving them, then I type them up, and then I write interpretations of what they said. Then I put that on my iCloud drive.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
May I interrupt for just a moment? I am not clear. You get these messages from all of these others with the pendulum, and it spells it out? Is that how the message comes?

Speaker 5 - Al / Caller:
Yes, correct.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
Oh. I thought this was channeling.

Speaker 5 - Al / Caller:
It is channeling using a pendulum.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
Okay. Thank you. Carry on. I just wanted to be sure of that.

Speaker 5 - Al / Caller:
They call it - the guides call it - a scribed wave. To me, it is very unique. I do not know too many people who use the pendulum to get messages.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
Can I ask you something? When they told you at the beginning to meditate, have you ever tried just meditating to see what you receive instead of using a pendulum? I do not mean this in any way, please understand that. Sometimes with a pendulum, it can be your subconscious coming through too.

If you are already doing it, but you feel like you are doing it in a different way, and the very first thing that came through to you was to meditate, do you think maybe they were saying right away that you can do this on your own just by meditating?

Speaker 5 - Al / Caller:
No. Actually, that is a very good question, and I get that a lot when I tell people about this.

There are very specific reasons why they want me to do it with the pendulum, letter by letter and word by word. The lessons are so specific that there is no way you could receive images or anything along those lines. I do get dreams, and I do get things in meditation, but they are flashes. These are very succinct, detailed messages.

For example, I have more than thirty lessons that detail everything there is to know about energetic waves and rays, to the point where I could hand these lessons to a physicist, a mathematician, or a computer programmer, and they could create a simulated wave. It is unbelievable.

They have given me the pathway for every soul - every soul - and they have given me every single step. They call it passing waves. They tell you what happens when a being passes, what happens to their soul, where it goes, what happens while they are there, and then how a determination is made about whether they need to come back or can move on.

They have also given me the construct of all of the realms and dimensions in this, including the new world, or the world, which is a dimension here on Earth. This is one of the realms, and then there are all the other realms and what they call the faraway, or the way-away.

There is no way you can get that amount of detail in just a vision or anything like that. It is just not possible.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
I do have another caller, and I do not want to cut you short at all. You said they wanted you to share this information with the world. Not only is it coming through for individuals who need it at the moment, but how are you planning to share it, or have they let you know how you should share this with the world?

Speaker 5 - Al / Caller:
They have been training me. They did not tell me directly, but they let me know that tonight was the first night. This is the very first time I have spoken about this. I am very private. I will never charge for any of these things. I do not want recognition, but I am to share these things. So that is what I am doing.

They said tonight something was going to happen. Then I got the email from the foundation saying that this particular show, where you can share stories, was going to be on. So I knew this is what they wanted me to do.

Here is a question for any one of you. Have you ever had a word that you wanted a definition for, like what I would call a sacred term? Compassion, truth, love, trust, wisdom, consciousness - have any of you ever wanted to know what they mean? I can share if you have a particular term that you would like.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
You already have the definition, right?

Speaker 5 - Al / Caller:
Yes, I do.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
Janet, do you want to try something?

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
No. I think this is going into a whole different realm, so I am going to pass on that for now. I think what you are sharing is beautiful. At the same time, you were saying you have been doing this for about a year, maybe. I think it is wonderful that you are sharing it with people.

I think spirit shares what it should share with each of us. Spirit will show us what we need to be shown. Your story is your story, and I think it is beautiful that you are sharing it. But I do not feel like I am ready to go into a whole big conversation with us on the show.

I appreciate you sharing what you did. I also want to keep this open for a lot of other stories, because everybody has one. I think it is beautiful what you are doing and the journey you are on. It is important that you continue on that, but you have to go in the direction you feel called to go, just as we are staying in a certain vein with our show. With this, you are going into a whole big new section.

Speaker 5 - Al / Caller:
It is very different.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
Yes. Al, before we go, I want you to know that I very much appreciate what you brought forward, because I think spirit is always looking for new ways to communicate with us. You are talking about a very specific way. I know we cannot take much more time, but if I just said the word “love,” what would be one word or one sentence that you have already received from them on that word?

Speaker 5 - Al / Caller:
Love is a way that burns inside your soul and allows compassion and all things, like truth and ways of empathy and understanding. It answers all doubts, cures all wounds, and wipes away all pain.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
Beautiful. Beautiful.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
That is very pretty.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
It is. Very pretty. Al, I do not want you to think we are discouraging you at all. I am very interested in this, and I think Janet is too. It is just that perhaps you can get in touch with us when you have other messages you have permission to share.

For instance, with Alzheimer's patients, sometimes mediums are able, as you are using this method, and through other methods, to get the message from the very healthy mind of the physical person who has Alzheimer's and communicate it. I think it is a beautiful gift, and I am very grateful to you for sharing it on this program. I am sending you lots of loving energy to continue that.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
Maybe get a website out. Have a website and share it that way, or do a podcast or something where you can share it in the way you wish. That is important too.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
I am glad you shared tonight with us, actually, because I am sure many people will be happy to hear of this possibility.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
It reminds us that there are other ways. Like you always say, Betty, we are going to find other ways, and each of us finds our different way. Who would have guessed that a pendulum would give you letter by letter, word by word, to create a sentence of meaning?

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
Yes, and it is very specific and detailed. So there is a reason you came on the show tonight to do this. This was your debut. Hopefully we will hear from you again. It is something that, as Janet said, takes a lot of time that we do not have on the program, but we are certainly glad to hear what you are up to.

Speaker 5 - Al / Caller:
I would love to. Thank you for giving me the space. I really appreciate it.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
We appreciate your letting us know about this. Thank you.

Speaker 5 - Al / Caller:
Thank you so much.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
Thank you. Bye-bye.

Well, you just never know, right? There are so many ways. That would take a lot of time, to spell out each sentence.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
Even the word “meditate” is a lot.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
A lot. A lot of love.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
When he said that was the first word, I was like, “Oh, they are putting it back on him. They want him to meditate.” So I knew there was more going on. That is the path he chose, and that was the path that was chosen. He is going about it in his way with the experiences he has.

I think it is really cool. It is very intense and intensive, but it is very interesting to hear what he has to say. I think that is beautiful with all stories. Everyone who calls in has their own angle and their own beautiful story. I think that is important.

If he has been spending so much time doing this, it would be good to share it on a website or on a podcast, or whatever people do nowadays online. That would be a way to get it out too.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
I am sure spirit will let him know. Working with the pendulum is a form of meditation in a way.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
Yes.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
Well, okay. We have another caller?

Speaker 2 - Kimberly Saavedra / Co-Host:
No, we do not.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
No, we do not. That was communication with the producer a little bit.

What would be interesting is to see the response to his question: “Why meditate?” He had an answer to that, but he just could not get his hands on it at the moment.

I think spirit works in ways that surprise us. Of course, it is going to go beyond what we think so often. Al, if you are listening, spirit will certainly give you many ways of taking it out to the world. I am grateful that you brought it here tonight to us, because there are so many different ways to communicate.

We are in a place on the planet in which we must open if we expect to survive. I am sure that on the other side, they are doing everything they can to get to us in many different ways. In this case, as Al explained, it is a very precise way.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
Betty, Kim, would you like to give the number again?

Speaker 2 - Kimberly Saavedra / Co-Host:
Sure. Betty, Janet, and I invite you to call in and share a personal experience with us. You can ask a question or comment on something you have heard. The number for callers in North America is 888-627-6008. For outside North America, it is 1-323-744-4831.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
Great. I think it is important that everyone communicates in their own way. It is very individual, and I think it comes in a way that each one of us can understand. Like when I was talking earlier about the whole PET scan, sometimes it is in the background and comes forward in a way we do not understand or realize, but our loved ones are around us all the time.

That is really important to remind people: when you are thinking that someone is not around, they most likely are. They are working in the background for when you need it, when that time comes. Maybe for my friend who said she did not receive a lot right away, perhaps that person is going to come through at a time when she needs it more. A lot of times it happens that way. Or maybe she is already dropping little hints along the way.

It is important that we do my famous line: pay attention to what is going on around us. Our loved ones are trying to come through. When you are in deep grief, it is difficult to listen at times, but often they ring the doorbell. If you do not answer, they are going to come back. It is important to remember that as well.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
I remember reading about an actual death experience, as we call a near-death experience. This person had many experiences, but one of them was of seeing these souls in such darkness and despair. All around them were angels and light beings who were there to help them, but they did not know it and could not see it.

As you say, Janet, the spirits are present. I think we have a caller.

Speaker 8 - Producer / Call Screener:
We have Melanie from Nevada on the phone.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly Saavedra / Co-Host:
Welcome to the show, Melanie. Thanks for calling.

Speaker 6 - Melanie / Caller:
Hi. It has been a little while, but my cousin and I always listen to you, and every time we say, “We love the ladies.” Thank you to the ladies.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly Saavedra / Co-Host:
Thank you for calling. Feel free to share what is on your mind. I heard you have some comments.

Speaker 6 - Melanie / Caller:
When I heard Al, I thought it was pretty cool. He must be a man of patience to get messages letter by letter. When he was talking about it, the title of the book we are all familiar with, Journey of Souls, came to mind. I find that very interesting.

I like to be a prepared person, so after my daughter died, I read a lot about what the patterns are that people talk about when they describe what happens after we die. I think it is like anything. If you go to the fair and I go to the fair, we are going to have different experiences, and some things will be the same.

That is one of my favorites. That was where he was channeled in the 1960s through a medium in a story. He basically tells about the afterlife as well. Then, of course, there is Testimony of Light. My point is that the patterns we can draw are helpful. I do not think anyone's story is the story, but the patterns that come through have been helpful for me, especially after my daughter crossed.

I am a Buddhist by philosophical persuasion and life choice for my action, so I had a little bit of understanding of it from that perspective. I guess, wrapping it back, learning about these things - I would love to hear Al's representation, because it would just add another piece of information. I think it really helps with grief, with processing grief.

I guess I am going to stop talking and hear what you all have to say about that theory, because it is just something I thought about.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
What do you mean exactly? I did not get that.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
I was not clear either. Say exactly what you mean about what would be interesting to hear from Al in respect to your own experience, if that is what you mean.

Speaker 6 - Melanie / Caller:
He was talking about how his guides have shown him exactly what happens to souls when they cross. I am assuming it is something like the life review, and then a purging time if you had a tough life. I am assuming he has heard the same information that we hear from Helen Greaves in Testimony of Light, or Seth Speaks, or even Piero. I cannot pronounce his last name.

That was specifically what I glommed onto. I thought, “Oh, great, another person getting information from the other side in detail to compare, to get more information.”

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
Yes, wonderful. You were saying that kind of information helps us in our grief, right? Is that what you mean?

Speaker 6 - Melanie / Caller:
Yes, because I think I have a pretty clear understanding of my daughter's journey based on what I have read with a couple of mediums, but also her communication to me, and then thinking about it and meditating on it.

I want to know what I can do now to amp up my game so that when I cross, I can be in the same vibrational place she is. For me, having that information helped with the early grief and with asking, “What can I do to get through this so I can be working on becoming a better person?”

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
Absolutely. I think not only to become a better person, which is great, because so many people who have those experiences change tremendously, but also it gives us such a view of other dimensions of reality and that the spirits are present. They are here, and they are working with us. When we know that our children or the ones we love continue to exist in consciousness and are doing creative things in the other world, it changes the whole pattern of grief so tremendously.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
Yes. The information Al gives adds onto the next one. You were talking about the different books you were reading, and I think it is another piece of that. Like you said, it is a pattern. It is also like another piece of the puzzle.

Sometimes we resonate with one thing or we do not resonate with something. We take a piece of that and add it to our own puzzle to create our own life, our own story. I think it is really interesting to keep an open mind on all the different ideas so you can pick what resonates with you.

Like I always say with any book, take what feels right and leave the rest. If you find one thing in a book that resonates and the rest does not, that is okay, because you are finding that one piece you needed. If tonight Al had something and one thing resonated, take that with you and say, “Okay, I am adding that into my story, and that is going to help me move further along and take more steps.”

It merges and blends in with your own life, and it creates a new angle for you to go into. Everybody has a story, and that is why we do the show, so everyone can share a story. We may take one story and say, “Oh my gosh, that really hit me,” and then remember that and move forward. Or we might have a story that makes us say, “Wow, that was really sad,” and then we feel something.

It is like all these pieces of the puzzle in this one hour that we are taking on. Things that Al said might make you think, “That was incredible.” Then you think, “He did something. Now that makes me think maybe I can open up and do such and such.” I think that is really important. From that angle, that is how I look at it. I do not know if that is what you were looking at, Melanie, but that is how I see it.

Speaker 6 - Melanie / Caller:
I love that perspective too. When you were talking, what came into my head was that it almost does not matter what you do, but do something. Because you know how sticky grief can be. It is horrible. It is horribly sticky, and you can be stuck in the gray.

Like you said, one lesson - who cares? I mean, you want to care what it is, because hopefully it is a positive thing, but take what makes you unstick a little bit, maybe.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
That is a good metaphor: to unstick you. We are so blessed in these generations today because many people have died and come back and told their stories. A friend of ours, Anthony Chene, a French videographer, has interviewed one after another of those people who have died. They have a lot of different stories, and they are speaking. We do not have to read it.

I have been so moved by some of the stories. In each one, we get a sense of how we might make connection better, or get more of a sense of what really exists. Sometimes we think we are cut off, and not at all. We have this phenomenal reality, a multidimensional world, and so much is possible to unstick us.

It was nice to hear from you, Melanie. Feel free to call in again and again. Your cousin - I cannot remember her name - but thank you so much.

Speaker 6 - Melanie / Caller:
Yes, she is listening. Thank you, and have a good rest of the night.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
Thank you. Bye.

Speaker 6 - Melanie / Caller:
Bye.

Speaker 8 - Producer / Call Screener:
Ladies, next up we have Eileen from Pennsylvania. Welcome, Eileen. Are you still there?

Speaker 7 - Eileen / Caller:
I am here.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly Saavedra / Co-Host:
Great. Thank you for holding while we were speaking with Melanie. We are glad you held out for a conversation with us. What would you like to share?

Speaker 7 - Eileen / Caller:
I will share about one particular person I have had contact with. It is my husband's cousin, Susie. There have been so many things. Before she passed, her mother had passed, and she always said her mother was her parking lot angel. Well, now she is my parking lot angel. Whenever I am with somebody else and I tell them about it, then she proves it, and they are like, “Whoa.”

There are two other experiences I want to share before that. My husband had some surgery. He was in the hospital, and he was a little concerned. I was there with him in the prep room. The nurse came in and did something. She did not take his vitals, but she said, “I will be right back. I am going to take your vitals.”

She left, and then another nurse came in and said, “Hi, I am Susan. I am here to take your vitals.” She took his vitals, and everything was fine. She started to leave, and the other nurse came in and said, “What are you doing in here?” She said, “Well, I took his vitals.” The other nurse said, “That is what I was going to do.” Susan said, “Well, I was supposed to do it.”

I said to my husband, “Oh, Lance, I think Susie is with you.” He agreed, because we kind of felt her around.

A couple of years later, I had surgery. I was lying in the prep room, and the nurse came in. She started talking to me about the anesthesia or whatever. I said, “What is your name?” because I was remembering what happened with my husband. She said, “Oh, I am Susie.” I said, “Oh my gosh.” My husband was taken aback. I could not believe it.

After the surgery, I was in recovery, and I said, “I want to speak to Susie, the nurse Susie.” They said, “There is no nurse Susie.” Then she came into the room, and I said, “Oh, there she is.” She said, “My name is not Susie.” I said, “Why did you say that?” She said, “I do not know. I have never done that before. I do not know why you asked me my name and I gave another name. It is just so weird.”

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
So good. It is Susie. Oh my God.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
Wow. That is true. That is a good one.

Speaker 7 - Eileen / Caller:
It comes through. There is more. I will give you a couple of examples.

One night, I was going to a concert at the waterfront in Baltimore. We were driving around. I was with my sister-in-law and brother-in-law, and we were trying to find a parking spot. Everything was packed. There was no possibility. He said, “We are never going to find anything.” I said, “Well, ask Susie. She is a parking lot angel.” He chuckled and said, “Okay.”

I said, “All right, Susie, we need you. Can you please find us a parking space?” We turned the corner, and there was one right there. As soon as we turned the corner, it was right there on the corner, like two cars leaving an open space right on the corner. So we knew that.

It happened again. I was with a friend at another little concert venue in a small town, so it was a little bit harder to find a parking space. I said, “His cousin is my parking lot angel.” So I asked her, and all of a sudden somebody pulled out of the parking space right in front of the theater. I was like, “Okay. Thank you.”

Another time, we were in Los Angeles with my son and his fiancée. We were looking for a parking place at the open market in Santa Monica. The place was packed. There were cars everywhere, and no spots. I said, “We are going to ask Susie.” He said, “Oh, yeah, right.”

I said, “I am telling you, she comes through.” So I said, “Okay, Susie, come on. Show your stuff.” As soon as I said that, somebody pulled out of a spot right there. We only had a few feet to walk to get into the place. My son said, “I do not want to believe it. I cannot believe it, but I cannot help it.”

It happened again. We went somewhere else, and somebody took the spot. We were getting ready, and he said, “Oh, there she is doing it again.” He saw a spot, but then somebody else pulled into it. He said, “Oh, Susie blew it that time.” He was joking around. Then somebody else pulled out of the spot right next to it. I said, “She is just teasing you, Josh. She is just messing with you because you doubted her last time.”

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
Does it not make you feel like she is with you all the time? She is watching out for you, and it makes you laugh. You are telling it and laughing. That is what is so beautiful about spirit coming through, that they can give you something that makes you laugh.

Speaker 7 - Eileen / Caller:
I have one more. This was not too long ago, just a couple of weeks ago. I had a piece of furniture in the back of my car, and I could not see behind me. I had to stop at Walmart. I said, “Susie, I need a spot where I can just pull through, so I do not have to back out of the parking space.”

I got to Walmart, and there was the spot I asked for, except there was a car there. I have numbers; I have spirit numbers. There was a car with my spirit number right next to it, so I knew that was the one I was supposed to take, but there was a car in front of it, so I could not pull right out.

I went inside and did my shopping. I came out, and then something else happened, but that is a whole other person of synchronicities. Anyway, I came out and got in my car, and the space in front of me was empty. Whoever was there had left, so I could just pull right out.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
That is great.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
Great story. I love it. There is a lot of humor in these relationships as well, do you not think?

Speaker 7 - Eileen / Caller:
Oh, yes. We laughed together all the time. We had a lot of fun together, so I know she enjoyed it.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
That is so good. Those are good stories. Thank you so much for sharing.

Speaker 7 - Eileen / Caller:
You are welcome. I have a good friend here, and I will share more next time. I have other people, but one at a time. I have another one that would really blow your mind, but I am writing a book about that one.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
We will save that one.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
We will save it.

Speaker 7 - Eileen / Caller:
I am going to save it. I will keep you in suspense. Just be aware of certain songs on the radio. I will put it that way. That is how this person comes through.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
Great. Take care.

Speaker 7 - Eileen / Caller:
Thank you so much for listening.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
Thank you for calling.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
That is great. It is interesting, that kind of thing. It is a practical, day-to-day working relationship, is it not? You share it with your husband and with your son.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
I think a lot of people are going to now be asking for Susie to come through when they want a parking spot.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
Susie might be too busy.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
She is going to be like, “Oh, no. I have a lot of work to do.”

I think it is individual. Our loved ones do come through and help us in a lot of different ways like that. That is a great thing. I love that. When she was talking about music, I have stories in my book about that. It is interesting when somebody comes through or comes on the show and shares an experience. I loved that she was laughing. That really helps a lot.

They say laughter is the best medicine. When people are going through grief, it is really difficult and intense, and I have been there too. We have to experience all of that. But when you hear the laughter, it makes all of us smile. We are all smiling over that, and that is important.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
That is true. The earth itself - it seems that when my husband and I had our son pass over, we felt so much and had so many experiences of how much the earth herself needs us to experience joy and laughter. That releases us from a lot of crazy patterns, and then we are more open to spirit too. The earth herself needs us to have that. That is the energy for her as well, I think.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
Right. In grief, we travel through many doors. Their personalities are still there through all of that. I think it is important that we do not dismiss any signs, because that is from them. I take the parking space as a sign, and I am sure Eileen does too.

No matter what we are getting, like I always say, pay attention. Even the little things that come through are important. A lot of times we have these big, full stories, but every story is important. It is part of our piece of the puzzle on the show.

Even with what Melanie had to say, I think there are patterns. When we are paying attention, listening to that inner voice, and listening for spirit, we receive so much more. It makes our life so full. When we lose somebody, that helps fill up that space.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
Exactly. To believe what, for two to three hundred years, we were taught to believe destroys us. It destroys the heart, and it is untrue. Once we know that is not true, and we know that we are connected to everything, then we can laugh and have joy and be connected and create an entirely different world.

It is getting pretty close.

Excuse me for just a second. I have a cough here.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
You have a cough.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
My voice, I do not know what happened.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
Okay.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly Saavedra / Co-Host:
Janet, you went mute, unless you are coughing.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
Okay, sorry about that. I went to cough, and I did mute it.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly Saavedra / Co-Host:
We did not hear a cough.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
Are you there?

Speaker 2 - Kimberly Saavedra / Co-Host:
Yes, we are.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
Are you ready to read the prayer?

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
Janet, we are here. We are on the air today.

Speaker 4 - Janet Mayer / Co-Host:
All right. I guess I am going to say the prayer. We will say the Mahayama prayer:

May all beings everywhere with whom we are inseparably interconnected be fulfilled, awakened, liberated, and free. May there be peace in this world and throughout the entire universe. And may we all together complete the spiritual journey.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
Thank you, Janet.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly Saavedra / Co-Host:
Thank you. And thank you to all of our callers who called in tonight. We appreciate it.

Speaker 3 - Dr. Betty Kovacs / Co-Host:
Wonderful callers.
