Love Beyond Loss: Personal Signs, Shared Visions, and Continuing Connection

Everyone Has A Story To Share.
We Invite You To Share YOURS!

Many Of Us Have Personal Experiences That Defy Mainstream Thinking. Join Us As We Explore The Types Of Experiences That People Have, What They Mean, And How We Can Integrate Them Into Our Daily Lives.

Summary

Creating a Safe Space for Personal Experience

The co-hosts open the program by defining it as a safe place for people to discuss direct experiences that they associate with deceased loved ones, survival of consciousness, dreams, signs, and other events that mainstream culture may dismiss. Janet emphasizes that each caller's account is personal and that sharing it can help listeners recognize patterns in their own lives. She encourages people to pay attention to meaningful timing and to signs such as coins, birds, lights, balloons, dreams, or other individually recognizable symbols. The speakers repeatedly distinguish these direct experiences from formal mediumship while acknowledging that mediums can sometimes help grieving people begin recognizing an ongoing connection. The program's central invitation is to remain receptive without insisting that every person's experience take the same form.

Sacred Space, Intention, and Frequency

Dr. Betty discusses Celtic traditions involving wells, waterfalls, caves, and other places believed to support communication with the invisible world. The co-hosts extend that idea to sacred locations, long-used meditation sites, Forever Family Foundation gatherings, and even ordinary places made sacred through intention and attention. They describe grief and crisis as conditions that may intensify focus and open people to experiences they previously dismissed. The foundation is presented as a community where people arrive prepared to hear, share, and consider accounts of continuing connection. Although the speakers frame these ideas through spiritual interpretations, they preserve the importance of giving experiences time and space rather than attempting to control them.

Balancing Analysis With Lived Knowing

Dr. Betty recounts how the death of her son opened a door to dreams and visionary experiences, while her analytical mind continued to demand conventional proof. She describes gradually developing a cooperative relationship between the left and right brain, allowing herself to experience an event before analyzing it afterward. Janet explains that she began documenting experiences with dates and times so she could identify recurring patterns instead of dismissing each event in isolation. The hosts discuss the value of rational validation while also asserting that some experiences carry an immediate quality of knowing for the person involved. Their conversation suggests that reflection, pattern recognition, and careful documentation can help people integrate experiences without forcing them into a single explanatory model.

Love, Grief, and Continuing Bonds

Caller Al shares channeled messages about meditation, love, and the removal of demands or restrictions from love, although portions of the wording are unclear in the automated transcript. His offer to help a grieving caller leads to a broader discussion about whether loved ones must find one another after death. The co-hosts express their belief that love itself maintains connection and that deceased loved ones are already aware of the living person's emotional state. Janet recounts feeling a room fill with people who seemed to be gathering for someone approaching death, while Dr. Betty describes a visionary encounter with grieving mothers. The conversation presents grief as transformative, capable of opening new levels of compassion, especially for parents whose losses are complicated by judgment, isolation, or the circumstances of a child's life.

Signs, Shared Perceptions, and Personal Validation

Kimberly reads accounts involving Amanda and her parents, including an angel reportedly seen by a nurse, lights moving through a room after Amanda's death, and a distinctive woodsy-citrus scent connected with a childhood scratch-and-sniff book. The same fragrance was later perceived by several family members during a Christmas trip, making it a shared experience in their interpretation. Dr. Betty describes a group visionary experience at a sacred mountain near Lake Titicaca, where she and a friend reported seeing matching figures, a dog, and a being of light. The hosts emphasize that these experiences may arrive through sight, sound, smell, dreams, bodily feeling, synchronicity, or unexpected information. They encourage listeners to acknowledge meaningful experiences and remain attentive to what may follow.

Evidence, Transformation, and the Invitation to Share

A final account concerns Linda, who reported meeting her deceased fiance Wayne during a dreamlike medical crisis and receiving information that led to a correction concerning the circumstances of his death. The co-hosts discuss this as an example of information that appeared to fall outside Linda's prior knowledge and later received external confirmation. They describe such validation as reassuring to the analytical mind while also focusing on the emotional transformation Linda reported afterward, including greater peace about death and a changed approach to life and motherhood. The episode closes by encouraging listeners to call future programs because no experience is considered too small to share. Janet ends with a prayer for all beings to be fulfilled, awakened, liberated, free, and at peace throughout the universe.

Hello, Janet. Hello, Betty.

Speaker 3 - Janet:

Hello, Kim and Betty.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

Hello. Hi, everyone. I am doing great.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly:

You are feeling well?

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

Yes, I am doing well.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly:

That is nice. This month passed so quickly. It seems as though we were having a conversation only a couple of weeks ago, and suddenly here we are again. We are back together during the summertime here in the States.

Speaker 3 - Janet:

Yes, it is about 99 degrees here in Southern California, I think.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly:

That is warm. I cannot believe how fast the entire first half of the year went. I cannot believe where we already are. It is crazy.

So, Janet, what about your meditation for tonight?

Speaker 3 - Janet:

What came through was a little different. Every month is different, which is interesting. If I see a caller come up, I will stop.

I was thinking about how many unbelievable connections we have witnessed during the years we have been doing this and how many people call in with experiences that defy mainstream thinking. They are like magical moments that we all get to experience every month.

With all the callers who come in, I am amazed by every story, by the way each one is shared, and by the support listeners offer. People recognize the uniqueness of each caller's experience, yet the stories also create a deep connection among everyone.

Sometimes a story may resonate deeply. At other times, it may trigger something in a listener because of what is happening in that person's life. This program opens a safe space because of Forever Family Foundation, what it allows, and what it shares with everyone. We all have a personal story to tell.

I think about the connection everyone on this planet shares. Our experiences can be very different, but in a way they are also similar because we are connecting with loved ones on the other side. What might they be sharing with us that can help someone else? How might one person's story prompt someone else to tell a story?

I love it when somebody calls and shares. We have to remember that communication may require effort from the other side. I kept hearing that in my head. Of course they want to get through, and of course we want to connect with them, but it may still be difficult if we are not paying attention.

I always say, "Pay attention." When we receive something - whether it is a coin, a cardinal, a light in the sky, a balloon, or something else - they may be sending it in a way we can recognize individually. People may say, "I see a bird," or, "This happens to me," but when something occurs at exactly the right moment, we know. We simply know.

I think it is important to set an intention that we want to connect with our loved ones, but we also have to give them the space and time to come through in the way they choose. Maybe I have heard a similar story before, or perhaps I have never heard anything similar. It does not matter because it is each person's individual story.

When someone calls to share, we all get to experience that event with the caller. That is why, when I repeat a story, I remind myself that it is not merely a story. It is an event that took place. It is deeply personal, and that is important to remember.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

I agree with you completely. In Celtic culture, for example, people believed there were certain places on Earth with a frequency that allowed communication with the other side to come through more clearly. These were often places with water, waterfalls, wells, or caves. They symbolized the experience through maidens at the wells. When people went to those places, they believed they received or contacted a wonderful creative energy from the invisible world.

They valued those places. When they went there, they planned to give the other side space and time, and they fully believed communication would come through. I think there may be something true about the frequency of sacred places where people have meditated for years or decades. It creates a particular energy or frequency that may make communication easier.

If we cannot go to those sacred places, however, every place can be sacred. When we open ourselves, as you said, and give the other side time and space, communication may come through. I think the difficulty often comes from us because we are so involved in this world. Yet they do seem to come through frequently during a crisis.

Speaker 3 - Janet:

Right. I was going to say something about that.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

Please, go ahead.

Speaker 3 - Janet:

Forever Family Foundation is a kind of sacred space. People are drawn to it. They attend the conferences, participate in different activities, visit the website, and read the material. It is wonderful because the foundation becomes a sacred space, and all the shows branch out from it.

Each week, every show goes in a different direction, but everything eventually comes back to the whole.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

Yes. Forever Family Foundation is interesting because everyone who goes there is already entering a place and a state of mind in which they are waiting for communication.

Speaker 3 - Janet:

I think it is incredible that Bob and Fran started this organization. Bob initially did not believe there was anything on the other side. He thought anyone who believed such things was a little peculiar or had gone around the bend, so to speak.

Then, when their daughter passed, he had many experiences. He recognized what was happening, and it continued over and over. That is an example of a crisis bringing Fran and Bob into a highly focused, high-frequency energetic space. From that energy, they created Forever Family Foundation and made it a high-frequency place for every conference and gathering. We can be very grateful for that.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly:

I love how you said that, Betty. At the beginning, he really did not believe in anything like this. Then things began happening. You may question an experience, but in a way you cannot simply refuse to believe it because it is personal and you are having it. You know something else is going on. Even when you cannot put it into words, you feel it, and that makes a difference.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

The more we experience, the more we grow in this. I spent my adult life searching for answers and teaching symbolic language. More than anything, I wanted contact with the other world. I experienced it through dreams, but it was not until our son passed that the door fully opened. Even then, it took time.

After our son passed, my husband had a vision in which he was sitting on a mountain, looking out at the ocean, which merged with the sky and appeared infinite. Then he heard our son say, "Dad, even that is not the limit."

It was powerful to hear that there are no limits to our creativity. At that point, however, I still had doubts or reservations. The first things that came to mind were at least a dozen restrictions and limits. No matter how much I was looking for something more, I was still caught in the old story of limitation.

Gradually, through my experiences, I realized there are no limits to our creativity except the limits we construct. If we believe in a limit, that becomes our limit. It took time. I was like Bob in that, over time, he had so many experiences that he was changed forever. The same was true for me.

During an experience, I knew it was true. Once I was outside the experience, however, I would tear it apart and demand more proof. My left brain was so trained to require rational evidence that, no matter what happened, it would jump in with both feet and try to dismantle it: "This cannot be true. It is too fantastic. Give me outward proof."

For the visionary and the mystic, the experience itself is the truth. I finally came to understand that. When you experience it, you know it. I had to retrain my left brain and create a new partnership with it. I had to say, "Wait a minute. I realize that my culture and I have trained you to believe in nothing and to accept only a certain kind of proof. Let us work with this together. Let us look at these experiences. Be quiet while I am experiencing them, and afterward we can feel and think about them together."

It took a year or two to develop a loving, creative working relationship - a kind of marriage between the left and right brain - and a new way of doing business in the world.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly:

Absolutely. In Western culture, many of us have been trained to rely heavily on the left brain. It has limits, although it can do incredible work. Its nature is to analyze, take things apart, and put them back together. In the framework we are discussing, however, it cannot see the entire context, understand meaning and purpose in the same way, or feel and love.

Our culture and educational system have been heavily restricted to that left-brain approach, and now people are trying to break free. We are at a crossroads. We are receiving a great deal of information, and many people are sharing their experiences, writing about them, and making films about them. The word is getting out.

Everyone who shares an experience strengthens the field. You may think you are alone, but we are not alone. Returning to what you were saying, Janet, love is the highest frequency in the universe. The beautiful thing about that frequency is that it connects everyone who is loving. We are told that we are connected when we love.

The Egyptians taught that we must create from love if we do not want to destroy the world. If we cannot create from love, we can destroy the entire world. I think we can see that struggle happening.

It is longing and love, even amid loss, grief, sorrow, and pain, that keep us open, reaching, searching, and receptive to what may come. As you have said many times, even when you do not completely understand an experience, you can hold it in consciousness and pay attention.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

Yes. Sometimes we understand an experience years later. It is interesting that, in my case, the greatest opening and connection to the other side came out of grief and crisis.

Speaker 3 - Janet:

That is true. Betty, you were talking about having experiences, knowing they were real while they were happening, and then tearing them apart or questioning them afterward. I used to do that too.

When I was growing up, I started writing everything down. I dated and timed each experience. If I had another one, I could go back and ask, "Did I have something like this before?" Then I began seeing patterns, and that was very helpful.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

The patterns are so important. That is what the right brain gives us in this framework. It shows us patterns that help us understand what is going on.

Speaker 3 - Janet:

Different things work for different people. Someone may want to sit quietly. I often use meditation, but a person does not have to meditate formally. You can simply sit, relax, and focus on your loved one. You might ask for a dream or request a sign or symbol that lets you know the person is around.

It depends on what works best for the individual. We cannot say there is only one correct way. We have to remain open and allow communication to come through in whatever way works.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

I think spirit will use any way it can find to get through to us. It is quite creative, as a matter of fact.

Speaker 3 - Janet:

Unlimited possibilities.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

Yes, unlimited possibilities. I was about to censor the universe.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly:

I do want to give the numbers again. For callers inside the United States, the number is 1-888-627-6008. For listeners outside North America, the number is 1-323-744-4831. We welcome you to join us. We have a little less than 40 minutes remaining in the program, so there is plenty of time.

What we were discussing reminded me of the ending of a story I read this afternoon while preparing for the show. It came from Diane [surname unclear]'s book Afterlife Encounters. These are the final words from the gentleman who submitted the experience:

"I cannot explain my encounters, nor do I expect anyone else to explain them. Consciousness itself is very ethereal and inexplicable. While some of these experiences may be the result of overactive sensory impressions, all of them cannot be. I have come to accept them as normal. Amanda, my daughter, is still very much with me, not just in my mind, but as a spiritual being outside and alongside my own being. She is evolving, searching, and growing. The pain of grieving has been replaced with excitement about discovering other dimensions. We still cry, but for different reasons - not only from loss, although it still hurts. We now cry out of joy and love for the bright spirit that is our Amanda."

Speaker 3 - Janet:

That is beautiful.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly:

Amanda was 20 years old. The account says she had an unusual illness, and it was clear she was not expected to survive. The chapter contains several experiences, and I would like to share some of them because they are remarkable.

Do you want me to bring in the caller, Janet?

Speaker 3 - Janet:

Yes, please.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly:

Hello. Welcome, Al from Florida.

Speaker 5 - Al:

Hello. I do not know whether you remember me. I called last month and told you about my channeling.

Speaker 3 - Janet:

Yes.

Speaker 5 - Al:

As the call ended, I gave you my guides' definition of love. During that conversation, I mentioned the first message I received. It said, "Meditate," and I did not do anything about it. The next message also said, "Meditate." I asked why, and they answered, but I could not find the message at the time because it was so old. I found it now, and I wondered whether you would like to hear it.

Speaker 3 - Janet:

Yes.

Speaker 5 - Al:

The first message I channeled was, "Meditate." I did nothing about it that day. The next day, the message was again, "Meditate." I asked in my mind, "Why?" Their answer was: "Develop feelings. Life. Love. Being. Meditate while staring at a couple on a beach at sunset." [Exact channeled wording uncertain.]

I went and did that. I have a picture of the couple, although obviously I cannot share it over the radio. When I returned and thanked the guides, their response was, "Love is just as beautiful when demands are gone."

That fits with what you were discussing about love and frequency. I would like to offer one other statement in which they summarized love. Would you like to hear it?

Speaker 2 - Kimberly:

Certainly.

Speaker 3 - Janet:

Yes.

Speaker 5 - Al:

They said, "Love's ways are a curing truth and a gathered way of alignment, and a beautiful way of peace to border all sorrows." [Exact channeled wording uncertain.]

Speaker 2 - Kimberly:

Oh, wow.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

Please say that once more.

Speaker 5 - Al:

"Love's ways are a curing truth and a gathered way of alignment, and a beautiful way of peace to border all sorrows." [Exact channeled wording uncertain.]

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

Beautiful. When there are no demands, we are not placing sideboards or restrictions on love. We simply let love happen and observe it.

Speaker 5 - Al:

Absolutely.

Speaker 3 - Janet:

Thank you so much.

Speaker 5 - Al:

May I add one more thing? Last month, after I hung up, I listened to the next caller. She said something beautiful. She mentioned my name and spoke about her daughter, who had passed away. She said something like, "I would like to know where I am in my current life and figure out where she is so that, when I pass, I can be with her." I am paraphrasing.

That was tremendously beautiful. Based on what my guides have taught me, I believe I can answer her questions. If she calls again, may I leave my number with the producer? I do not know how to contact her, but I would like to help.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly:

We have never had that question before. Perhaps the producer can arrange for the two of you to speak if she calls again. We do not know, but that is a very generous offer, and we thank you.

Speaker 5 - Al:

This is a gift from my guides. They teach me these things. I do not charge for any of it, and I never will. I am here to serve people.

Speaker 3 - Janet:

Thank you so much, Al. That is very kind.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

That is beautiful.

Speaker 5 - Al:

Thank you very much.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly:

You are welcome. Goodbye.

Speaker 5 - Al:

Goodbye.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly:

That was very interesting. I was trying to remember the caller after Al last month. I think it was Melanie.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

Was it Melanie, Janet?

Speaker 3 - Janet:

I think so. I think it was Melanie.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

I do not think we have to worry about reconnecting on the other side. Love connects us. The fact that we love is the way we are connected. I do not think we can be disconnected, and we do not have to worry about finding one another on the other side. We are already present with one another.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly:

She may have been asking in the first instance, "Where am I?" She may have wanted to understand where she is so that her daughter can find her and she can find her daughter.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

That is true. Finding out where we are within ourselves may also help direct us. What do you think, Janet?

Speaker 3 - Janet:

I want to add something because the question, "Where are we?" or, "Where am I?" reminded me of an experience many years ago. I was having what I would describe as a mediumistic or mystical awakening. I was reading - I include this experience in my book - when suddenly I could feel people gathering around me.

My head popped up as though I were looking for them. I could feel them, but I could not see them. I heard them saying, "It is almost time. We are getting ready. She is almost here," or perhaps, "He is almost here." They continued talking, and I thought, "Oh my gosh. I know someone is going to pass."

I knew something was going to happen. They were letting me know that friends, family members, and loved ones were gathering and waiting for someone to arrive. They were there for that person. The person did not have to go anywhere to find them because he was already in the right place.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

I love that. I think that is exactly right.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly:

That feels beautiful, does it not?

Speaker 3 - Janet:

It does. You do not have to be somewhere else or go somewhere else. They already know. Your love shines outward like the light from a lighthouse. They are going to be there when it is your time to cross.

I have heard and read many different experiences. Sometimes it happens as I described; sometimes it happens in a completely different way. You do not have anywhere particular to go. They are already waiting, and whoever is supposed to be there will be there.

That is why I always say you can ask for them and remain open, but they know when you are in pain, happy, or sad. They feel it because they are part of you, and they know when to connect with you.

I have heard many people say, "I was searching for this person, but I was not hearing from her." Then, as soon as they stopped searching and let go, the connection happened. It came when it was supposed to come. That makes a big difference.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

At that moment, we are open enough to know they are present.

Speaker 3 - Janet:

Yes. That was one of my first experiences of people gathering and actually being in the house with me. Anyone who has read my book will know that I made my husband drive me past different family members' homes because I kept saying, "I know they are close. I know it."

We eventually discovered who was close to passing. At one point, the room felt so full that it was like being in an elevator packed tightly with people. They felt as though they were all around me. I have never let go of that experience because it was so strong and beautiful, and it happened in such a surprising way.

That is something to remember: you do not have to go anywhere. You are where you are supposed to be. They know that, and they will surround you. They already know.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

I think that is important. In the visionary world, whenever you think of something, you are there. If you are having an experience or thinking about a particular group of people, they may be present because the mind determines where you are going to be.

After our son, [name unclear], passed, I thought often about mothers and fathers whose children die at an early age, unexpectedly, or at any age. I also thought about parents whose children may have lived troubled lives, gotten into serious trouble, committed a terrible act, and then died. Those mothers and fathers may suffer an additional kind of grief.

A few weeks after our son passed, I was thinking about those parents during meditation. I saw - by which I mean that I felt and experienced - many mothers entering the room. In the inner visionary world, I was aware of their presence. I thought of them, and they were there.

It was a powerful experience. Parents worry about everything their children do. Losing a child is one kind of grief, but parents whose children have harmed someone may endure additional pain and may receive far less support. My thought filled the room with mothers who were suffering not only the loss of a child, but also fear or concern about how that child would awaken on the other side. It was grief of another kind.

Speaker 3 - Janet:

You become a new person. Different aspects of you change. Everything changes when something like that takes place. Unfortunately, I have to say that such an experience can cause you to grow. These experiences lead us to grow in a different way.

When people say a blessing came out of a tragedy, I think they mean that tragedy changes people and sometimes makes them see life in a completely new light. I often see that in people who have lost loved ones. Other people say, "You have changed," and the grieving person says, "Yes, I know."

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

Grief takes us through doors we never knew we would experience. It can open the heart to different levels of compassion.

As a grieving mother, I received tremendous compassion and support from everyone around me, including people at the college, organizations in which I participated, and friends. I was grateful that my grief and the support I received opened my heart to mothers who were also grieving but whose children may have done something that caused the mothers to receive less support from the world around them.

That is a terrible grief to endure. There are many levels to which the heart can open, and I am grateful for that, although these are hard experiences. I am sure those mothers endured very serious levels of grief.

Speaker 3 - Janet:

I think that is why Forever Family Foundation is helping to change the narrative. The work is about helping people open a new door, see something differently, and find support.

As you said, Betty, someone may receive support but not receive it in exactly the way they need, or they may not know where to look. Many people do not know which direction to take, and that makes grief more difficult.

Forever Family Foundation offers many avenues. It has certified many mediums who help numerous individuals. People often choose a particular medium because they feel that person is the right fit, and perhaps that is exactly the person they are supposed to see.

People can choose from many pages, resources, and books through Forever Family Foundation. Those resources are geared toward people who are grieving, do not understand an experience, or need assistance. It is beautiful that this help is available.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

I agree. I remember observing a couple at one of the conferences who seemed unable to make it through an hour, much less an entire day. Their grief was so intense that they could barely function.

A medium connected with their child. At the same time, the medium connected with the child of another couple whose child had died much earlier. The medium described the two children as having met on the other side and brought both of them through to the family.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly:

One of them was a daughter. I remember that story. Was her name Jessie?

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

Yes, the daughter was Jessie. To see what the medium's work and the reality of that connection did for the family was remarkable. We saw the couple again later at another conference, and they seemed like different people.

Mediums have developed a talent or potential that, in the view expressed here, may exist in everyone. When we have not developed that ability ourselves, going to a medium and receiving a connection can be sacred. A person may remain forever grateful. That couple certainly was.

It was only a beginning. The experience may have helped them start on a path, after which they could set an intention and begin connecting on their own.

Speaker 3 - Janet:

That is where I was going too. It is wonderful that mediums can help people begin moving in that direction. Then people may realize that they can also have their own connection with their child or loved one.

Sometimes we have to take different paths to reach that understanding. Our loved ones may be around us, but when we are in deep grief, we sometimes cannot perceive the connection. It is helpful to have gifted people who can assist from different directions.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

Yes, I agree.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly:

I want to return to the account I began reading earlier. The father came to accept his experiences as a normal part of his life. He and his wife recognized both sides of the process: grief and sorrow, but also joy and the beauty of what was opening for them.

This is the story of Dr. Jim May [surname uncertain]. His wife's name was Jane, and Amanda was their 20-year-old daughter. Amanda was seriously ill and in the hospital. Her parents were at her bedside when she went into cardiac arrest, and they were ushered out of the room. As they walked down the hall, a nurse approached Jim, tapped him on the shoulder, and said, "I just saw an angel on your shoulder." He hugged her. It was a magical moment for him.

A few months later, Amanda was still very ill and was not expected to live much longer. Family, friends, college students, teachers, and other people close to her gathered at her bedside. A chaplain said a prayer. At the precise moment he finished and said, "Amen," Amanda's mother whispered, "She is gone."

They were moved by the synchronicity. Everyone was together, and at the word "Amen," Amanda was released from what she and her family had viewed as an imprisoned body. Because of her condition, they believed she would not have been able to live the life she wanted if she survived.

Amanda was cremated. On the first night her parents were home with her ashes, her father awoke at about three in the morning and felt compelled to go into the living room, where the ashes rested on the fireplace mantel. He saw a beam of light bounce across the walls. He waited, and it happened again.

He woke Jane, and they sat together on the couch for about 20 minutes as swirls of light danced around the room and along the walls. They searched for an indoor light that might be malfunctioning. They also checked the weather and looked for cars or another source outside, but they could find no explanation.

For the first time in months, they felt peaceful and calm, and they were able to sleep well that night. The chapter contains many stories like that.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

Hearing about lights is one thing, but experiencing them is different. During the experience, you feel what you interpret as the frequency and transformative power of the light.

I have had visionary experiences in which something extraordinary was taking place. At the climax, when the experience was complete, music stopped at exactly the end. It marked a moment of completion.

Speaker 3 - Janet:

I remember that. It is fascinating. There was a complete ending to the moment.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly:

The next part of the story is beautiful. Amanda's mother, Jane, felt a little envious because her husband was having experiences and she was not. Then she began smelling a familiar woodsy, citrus fragrance that she could not identify.

While trying to understand it, she went into the attic and looked through stored belongings. She found one of Amanda's childhood books, Bambi in the Forest [title uncertain], which was a scratch-and-sniff book. The scent in the book matched the woodsy, citrus fragrance she had been smelling. That was remarkable.

Jim then thought, "I want one of those experiences." During the first Christmas after Amanda's death, the family was taking a road trip to spend the holiday together. They had a tradition of singing "Over the River and Through the Wood," inserting an aunt's name into the song.

During the drive, Jim suddenly smelled the same woodsy, citrus scent. Then Amanda's sister, Meredith, smelled it, and finally Jane smelled it. They interpreted the shared fragrance as Amanda being with them.

Speaker 3 - Janet:

There are so many different ways these experiences can happen. When you experience one, you often feel that you know whether it is connected with that person. There is an energy to it.

Jane was not looking for the Bambi book. She was simply searching through the attic, and she found something that made the scent understandable and deeply personal.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly:

That is what makes it compelling. The scent came to her spontaneously, and then she found the book. Experiences often work that way. Something happens unexpectedly: you see it, feel it, hear it, smell it, or experience it in another way.

It is important to acknowledge an experience so that you remain open to the next one. If we push an experience aside, perhaps another will come, but it may take more effort for us to notice. We can thank our loved ones and say, "I am fairly certain that was from you," or, "I know that was from you."

We can also set an intention: "I want a continuing relationship with you. I want it to go further. What can you show me next? What can I experience next?" The response may come in a dream or appear in front of you in some other form. The possibilities are all around us. We have to notice, pay attention, ask, and remain aware of our connection with our loved ones.

The whole family experienced the same fragrance. It was a shared experience, which is remarkable.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

It was remarkable. It reminds me of group visions that people sometimes report during a vision quest or ritual when a shared intention has been established.

I was once in South America near Lake Titicaca at a sacred mountain. We were participating in a ceremony with shamans and sacred medicine. Suddenly, I saw people running across the mountain. There was no one physically present except the few members of our group, yet I saw many people on the mountain. I saw shamans raising their staffs and even a dog running down the mountain.

I looked to the left and saw a being of light step off the mountain and walk through the air. When the being began walking toward our fire circle, I lost my courage and looked away. It was too much for me at that point in my life.

Later, I wondered whether I had been the only person to experience it. I spoke with a friend who had been in the circle. Before telling her what I had seen, I asked what she had observed. She said, "I thought it was so strange to see that dog running down the mountain." Then she described the same images I had seen.

The next day, I spoke with one of the shamans about the being of light. He said, "Oh, yes. He comes almost every time we have that ritual." He said the figures came from another dimension. I had also seen the shamans in our group acknowledging the people I perceived on the mountain, even though no physical people were there.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly:

Were they winged beings?

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

The shaman described the being to me. The interesting connection is that, while I was in South America, our son, [name unclear], was in the hospital. The shaman said the being often appeared. He said that, during a ritual for our son while he was dying, the being was present.

I had also seen a winged being at the foot of our son's bed with its wings extended over the bed. The synchronicities were extraordinary. You cannot make them up.

It is healing when you begin connecting the dots and noticing something that feels vast, sacred, and loving. That is the world we live in, if we can put on the glasses that allow us to see the magical wonder around us.

Speaker 3 - Janet:

Betty, you made an important point about South America. Culture has blocked intuition in many places, whereas the culture in that location seemed more open. That openness may allow more experiences to come through.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

Yes. It was one of those sacred places where people had meditated for a very long time. People there would say the place held a particular frequency. One person told me, "This is where the veil is lifted."

Speaker 2 - Kimberly:

I remember that you may have written in The Miracle of Death about the journey to the place where the group gathered. Even the landscape seemed healing, as though it were bringing the body or nervous system into a different frequency.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

That is well said, Kim. Nature and spirit have many ways of working with us and helping us.

Speaker 3 - Janet:

Do you think that also opens visualization? In a place considered so sacred, the third eye may feel wide open.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

Yes. Even then, I was still caught in the old university way of thinking, although I had always resisted it. When I saw all those people running across the mountain, my first thought was that the humans in our group must have gone into town and recruited people to come up the mountain. That is how badly the left brain can behave. Give me a break.

It did not take long for me to move beyond that interpretation.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly:

That is funny.

Speaker 3 - Janet:

We did not have many callers tonight, so I hope listeners will call next month and share their experiences. Everyone has one, and no experience is too small. We have heard all kinds of experiences from callers.

It is important for people to hear what someone else has experienced. One person has one kind of event, and another person has something completely different. Hearing those accounts may help a listener think, "Maybe something really did happen to me, and I did not recognize it at the time."

People often tell themselves, "It could not have happened," but perhaps it did. An experience may feel noticeably different. A dream can also be remarkable, and sometimes people report dreams that seem to contain a premonition. You never know how an experience may arrive.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

That is one reason this show is important. When people call, we begin connecting the dots and realizing how deeply connected we are with one another and with that other world.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly:

That is true. We still have about five or six minutes before Janet leads us in the prayer. I have one more short story from Afterlife Encounters, if you would like to hear it.

Speaker 3 - Janet:

Certainly.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly:

This account concerns a woman named Linda. When Linda was in her twenties, she had a fiance named Wayne, who was killed in an accident at age 20 in 1961.

Thirty-five years later, Linda was undergoing several surgeries and chemotherapy for a rare form of cancer. During one surgery, her heart stopped for three minutes. She did not remember the medical events, but she remembered a beautiful, dreamlike experience.

She was in a beautiful place, and Wayne was there. They both appeared as they had when they were in their twenties. Wayne told her, "Find out the truth about how I died. My military record is not accurate." He gave her the names of men who would know the truth. He also said, "I am not dead. I have simply passed on to another level. I have never left you."

Linda was initially hesitant to investigate. She asked some of their former friends but did not obtain the information. Little by little, she located the four people Wayne had named, as well as Wayne's sister, who ordered a copy of the autopsy report. Linda learned that the report was inaccurate, and the record of what happened to Wayne was corrected.

Linda said, "Ever since that encounter, I have felt so much peace about death. My entire attitude toward life has changed. I am a much more loving mother."

What makes the account interesting is that the information came unexpectedly. Linda said she had no prior knowledge of this history and had not been in contact with Wayne for decades.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

When information arrives from outside your normal range of thought and is later confirmed, it can feel evidential. It is information the person did not previously know, and then the facts bear it out.

Speaker 3 - Janet:

I love experiences that include some form of evidence or validation. When I was doing mediumistic readings, I often asked for double validation. Sometimes I still do. You receive one detail, and then another arrives, and you think, "How did that happen?"

Linda received a strong validation through the information she was given. That is amazing.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

It is also comforting. The left brain can provide useful information, and when its questions are satisfied, it gives us another level of conviction.

When a person receives information they could not have known and later checks it with someone in ordinary time and space, that can be powerful.

Speaker 3 - Janet:

That makes me laugh. I ask for double validation, and sometimes I receive triple validation.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly:

Consider what that single experience did for Linda. It created awareness and changed her entire life. One experience can have that much power.

Are we ready to close?

Speaker 3 - Janet:

I think Betty and Kim may have briefly dropped off, but I will go ahead and say the [prayer name unclear] prayer.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly:

We are here, Janet. I am sorry. I was typing something into the chat.

Speaker 3 - Janet:

I will go ahead with the prayer.

May all beings everywhere, with whom we are inseparably interconnected, be fulfilled, awakened, liberated, and free. May there be peace in this world and throughout the entire universe. And may we all together complete the spiritual journey.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly:

Thank you, Janet. I love that prayer.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

I do too. Thank you.

Speaker 2 - Kimberly:

To all our listeners, we send good vibes and well wishes. We hope you will join us next month and give us a call.

Speaker 3 - Janet:

Yes. Thank you. Goodbye, everyone.

Speaker 4 - Dr. Betty:

Goodbye.
