Dr. Wencke Meteling is a Leadership Coach and Equine Learning Facilitator, and life enthusiast.
Originally from Germany, she moved to Washington, DC eight years ago. She is certified in Executive Leadership Coaching by Georgetown University’s Institute for Transformational Leadership, and in Equine-Facilitated Learning by the HERD Institute (Institute of Human Equine Relational Development). With 18 years of experience in academic research, teaching, and leadership on both sides of the Atlantic, Wencke brings an international perspective to her coaching. Her career spans roles such as assistant professor in contemporary history at Universität Marburg, Feodor Lynen Postdoc Fellow with the Humboldt Foundation at Wolfson College, Cambridge University in the UK, and DAAD postdoc fellow at Johns Hopkins School of International Studies (SAIS) in Washington, D.C.
She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in history from Universität Tübingen and a Maîtrise from Université de Provence Aix-Marseille. Wencke is also an award-winning author in military and war history with a study on German and French Regiments during WWI.
