In a world where outdoor enthusiasts, athletes, and adventurers face challenges with bathroom accessibility, Chickfly pants are a groundbreaking solution. Founded by environmental scientist and hydrologist Anna Birkás, Chickfly is revolutionizing functional fashion with a unique, patented fly design that provides discreet and easy access for everybody.
Chickfly pants have a built-in fly that works for everyone, with ease! This patented, unisex design, made with eco-friendly fabrics like bamboo and merino, is seamless and simple. Pull it apart in front, below, or the back for easy and discreet access; no zippers! When done, let go and the 4-way-stretch fabric magically snaps back into shape.
This innovative new technology is perfect for hiking, biking, in a harness, or on a boat. Even people with disabilities, divers, and firefighters are using them. Chickfly pants solve the bathroom problem that many women face daily.
Chickfly is more than just a women’s product. It’s an inclusive solution that benefits people of all genders and abilities. From trans men to people with disabilities who need to use a medical device, Chickfly pants provide an accessible and dignified way to handle personal needs.
The pants are proudly manufactured in the USA, supporting local economies and ensuring the highest quality standards. Since its launch in 2021, Chickfly has sold over 2,200 units and earned $275,000 in revenue. With a growing customer base and a mission to level the bathroom access playing field, Chickfly is poised to become a staple in outdoor gear and functional fashion.
As part of their mission, Chickfly also offers humorous and informative "pee manuals" to guide users in mastering this innovative design. These resources, coupled with the pants’ deep pockets and versatile styles, make Chickfly a must-have for anyone seeking to integrate functional fashion into their wardrobe.
With a strong emphasis on sustainability and social awareness, Chickfly is revolutionizing women’s apparel, one pair of pants at a time.
Raised off-the-grid in Mendocino County, Anna Birkás grew up with a deep connection to nature and a commitment to sustainability. As a professional scientist often working in remote, male-dominated environments, she experienced firsthand the challenges women face with bathroom access in the field. Anna has her M.S. in Hydrology, and B.S. in Environmental Ecology and is a licensed General Engineering contractor. She has worked in watershed sciences ecology and construction for 26 years, starting her first company, a successful environmental firm, in 2009.
Anna was inspired by a need for equal access to both discretion and jobs. Having been excluded from a snow hydrology project in Montana because there was no restroom on the all-male crew, she quickly became aware of the need for a field-leveling solution. She turned adversity into inspiration and created Chickfly pants – a product that combines her expertise in ecology and engineering with a passion for gender equality.
Anna says, “As an outdoor enthusiast and field scientist, I felt the disparity of bathroom access between men and women. It was a barrier for me working professionally as a hydrologist on crews of men. I invented and patented a fly design that allows women to pee discreetly without taking their pants down.”
