Welcome, everybody. Brother Goodwin here. This is Prophecy in the Spotlight, and today's show is going to be about government UFOs.
Government UFOs. Can you put that up there? We have a picture of something I want you to see. We are going to talk about it a little bit. What in the world is that? It looks like a flying wing.
Let me read something to you. In the last months of World War II, Nazi Germany tested an experimental fighter plane that was more of a spaceship than an aircraft. It was called the Horten, or Horton, as part of the name. In December, U.S. aircraft maker Northrop Grumman unveiled a revolutionary design for a future fighter aircraft.
If you were alive in the 1940s during World War II and looked into the sky - maybe while fishing on a riverbank - and you heard a noise you had never heard before, because this had jet engines and nobody had jet engines, and suddenly that streaked across the sky, you know what you would say? You would say, "That's a UFO. A UFO."
We are going to bring Doc in, and we are going to talk about UFOs today - government-issued UFOs that have been seen throughout history and are part of the reason people have gone off the deep end on this UFO and science-fiction material. We are going to help you with this today. Stand by.

Two things. Had we not gotten the Israeli scientists who helped develop the atomic bomb, and had we allowed the war to go a little longer, that aircraft could have gone into mass production. We would all be speaking German, not English.

There is no way propeller-driven planes could have kept up with that.

Absolutely no way. And who knows what altitude that thing could have reached? It could carry bombs. I read that it was quite expensive and Hitler chose to stay with what he had. He felt that if he put money into this, it would hurt him elsewhere.

But they had the project ready to start mass-producing it at that time.
I was telling you a while ago that I was at one of my grandson's birthday parties last night, talking with my two sons, and something came up about our name because Hiltibidal is German. My son said something about German engineering. He said, "You hear that all the time. You never hear anybody say Chinese engineering. It is German engineering." There is something about that.
I am glad we are speaking English, because I do a terrible job with that, let alone German.

There is a movie from the 1960s called Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines. Have you ever seen that?

It is a race, and it is a funny movie. The German character had a motto he said over and over again: "There is nothing a German officer cannot do without the book of instructions." In other words, if you give me the instructions, we will build it and we will do it.

That is exactly the truth. My son was joking about it because of the German descent in our name. But have you ever heard about Mexican engineering?

Well, yes, but not in the right direction. Usually it is more derogatory.

You might ask, "What does this German plane from the 1940s have to do with our UFO discussion?" Everything.
As I said at the beginning of the show, if you saw this thing streak through the sky in the 1940s, you would have gone home and told everybody. Now, the term UFO did not exist yet. That term would come into existence in 1947. I document that in the book. I have the whole history of this thing starting in 1947. Hollywood got involved. Hollywood misunderstood something, and that is where flying saucers came from.
The whole thing became a cover for secret development. The government loves it. The government wants to push that.

That is right. Nobody wants to investigate the CIA because we have aliens up there from outer space. That allows them to fly their craft and let it get seen now and then. They do not care.
Then you have the science-fiction chasing prophecy gurus out there spreading it right along with them: aliens.
Let me preach for about thirty seconds. Hey, you prophecy guys out there - you TV guys and YouTube prophecy guys - why don't you get a Bible? Why don't you do some serious study and quit bringing this science-fiction material into the prophecy world and corrupting it?
That is why I wrote The Great End-Time Distraction. It has become exactly that.

This is what is happening, Dan. I have been watching some fellows with great minds and great information. But what they are trying to do is cause the Bible to fit into cultural research and historical documents. They are trying to bring the Bible into those things rather than letting the Bible be the superior text.

We were talking about that at breakfast. It was the man you were watching. You said he is a smart guy.

Very smart.

But he has gone off into some of this other material. He has great research, but his whole approach - and not just him, but a huge number of people - is trying to establish by outside discoveries that the Bible is true, rather than saying that all of this is true because the Bible has already said it. That degrades the Scripture, and they do not realize it.
So let's go back to the beginning, in 1947. We talked about this not too long ago, so I do not want to get bogged down, but in UFOs: Truth or Fable, the word fable literally means a feigned story, a fictitious story. "Refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness" - 1 Timothy 4:7.
I wonder why God had the Holy Spirit put that in the text. It is because it has been a problem throughout all of history.

Let's face it. Science-fiction material is exciting.

It is. I love some science-fiction if you understand it is fiction.

But now that we are older - I am seventy-eight - you look back and realize that what I saw on a little black-and-white television screen when I was fifteen, the first time we had one, and the things we saw in those early years are now realities.
It almost tells you that the media industry is actually supervised by spiritual powers.
You were telling me that in Vietnam you went up in planes and looked at a screen. I forget how big it was.

The planes I worked on had black-and-white screens. I was riding one night and they showed me, from probably around four thousand feet, and you could actually see the facial features of people either on the ground or in a boat from four thousand feet.

Oh, yes. Absolutely. That was in 1970.

And all the pilot had to do was reach over into a little booth and squeeze a trigger, and you could feel the airplane actually turn sideways. Can you imagine that, sixty years ago? Can you imagine what we have now? It would be unbelievable.

The point I am trying to make is that there has always been strange material, things we had never seen before. Something like that cannot be from this world, somebody would say. Nothing mankind can do can go that fast.
They are saying that now. But we had Mach 3 in the 1950s.

That is three times the speed of sound, around two thousand miles an hour. I am not sure how fast the actual spacecraft go once they get launched into space, but it is amazing how rapidly they can move. Propulsion is an amazing study.

Let me give a little history of UFOs. In 1947, of course, there was Roswell. Everybody in the science-fiction world knows about Roswell. Roswell was a very misunderstood happening in a time when you had black-and-white television, and television itself was new.

These incidents - what they call the UFO incident - included a man named Kenneth Arnold, who saw flying objects, and a rancher named Mack who came across a mysterious wreckage path near an Army Air Force airfield. Clue, clue, hint, hint.
Local newspapers reported it as the remains of a flying saucer. The U.S. military issued a statement saying it was just a weather balloon. Later they had dummies with latex skin. They were dropping them from the sky. They were testing something.

We do not know the whole truth of all that. It was early-generation testing of a program.

They were going into the Cold War. That is the bottom line. Now they were worried about Russia. Russia and America went into the Cold War, and both countries were building and testing.
That is 1947. The Air Force said these dummy drops were a way to test new methods for pilots to survive a fall.

You would not need those dummies unless that is exactly what you were doing. You would not need dummies in a weather balloon.

The military later issued a statement admitting that the Roswell wreckage was part of Project Mogul, a top-secret atomic espionage project. That is what they said fifty years later. We still do not know what all that means.
In the 1950s, Area 51 comes into the discussion, and that brings us to the subject today.
You sent me a video from the History Channel. Someone who is friends with me on Facebook sent me that link and said, "Doc, I think you will find this interesting." I clicked on it, and at first I thought, okay, and then the next thing I knew I had watched the whole thing. It was very interesting.

It had documentation. They gave the history of Area 51.

Area 51 is spooky. People have all kinds of stories. They say there are bodies of extraterrestrials in there. It is all a lie.
I talked to a man on the phone years ago, back when I was on TV. He said, "I have seen it. I have been in that building. I have seen part of that body on a table." I do not believe it. I do not know what he saw, but it was not that.
There are no extraterrestrial beings. They are either spirit beings created by God as ministering spirits, often referred to as angels, or they are those made in the image of God for the purpose of living on planet Earth in order to have a relationship with God. That is why God created man in His image.

And Eve is the mother of all living.

That is right. There are no extraterrestrials.
So, in 1947, this thing began and the term flying saucer came. Kenneth Arnold claimed to see a group of nine high-speed objects near Mount Rainier in Washington. This is a historical sighting. People in the UFO world often bring it up.
While flying a small plane, Arnold estimated the speed of the crescent-shaped objects as several thousand miles an hour. I do not think that was true, but that was from his perspective.

He said they moved like something skipping on water. He did not call them flying saucers. He said they moved like a saucer skipping on water. In the newspaper report that followed, it was mistakenly stated that the objects were saucer-shaped. He never said that. But that took off.

Of course, then the image became a flying saucer. The government was not going to come out and correct it.

No. They were going to let it become their cover.

When you say, "I saw a UFO," that means different things to people. When you say, "I saw a flying saucer," that becomes something from Mars.

That is exactly right.

The movies jumped on it. I searched for the first UFO or science-fiction movie, and it was in the late 1940s or early 1950s. I do not remember the exact year. But it all started here, with Roswell and these incidents - the mannequins that fell to the ground and the things people saw in the sky near an Army Air Force base where they were testing and doing things.
In the documentary we referred to, they had many crashes and several experimental pilots lost their lives while developing these technologies.
That brings us to the early 1950s and Area 51. In the article I printed after watching the video, it says that in 1955, during the Cold War - remember, that is a key here - the CIA and the Air Force needed a remote, secure site to do their testing. They did not want anybody to know about it.
It was an experimental division of Lockheed. The site was selected after an aerial survey. President Eisenhower approved it. The CIA acquired the land, designated Area 51 on maps for Project Aquatone.
Lockheed's Skunk Works, led by Kelly Johnson, was going to design and build the U-2 Dragon Lady spy plane. It was a lightweight, glider-like jet capable of flying over seventy thousand feet. That was high enough that the Russians could not see it, at least at that time.

Later that changed.

But at that time, they could fly over Russia and be undetected.
The official flight was August 4, 1955. This jet went around 450 miles an hour. That was quite a big deal.

It was, for a propeller-driven world.

The base was rapidly built up in secrecy. Pilots and personnel were brought in. Testing and training began in earnest. Many early U-2 flights from the site contributed to widespread UFO sightings in the 1950s.
That is the point. These early U-2 flights from the site contributed to widespread UFO sightings.
You UFO people out there - we are probably not going to convince you. You will say, "No, I know what I saw." But no, you do not always know what you saw. We all see things, and later we find out it is not what we thought. Your mind plays tricks. Your eyes can see things.
We have all been hunting. How many times have you thought a deer was coming in, and it turned out to be a squirrel?

That is what all this is. I have been saying this for years. I wrote it in this book. Most UFO sightings that involve an actual mechanical thing in the sky - not a trash-can lid or a light - are secret military research.

Some of it is just a plane or a jet, but it looks strange. It is amazing that when all of that started in the early 1950s in earnest concerning the Cold War, the UFO idea began to take off. They encouraged it. They fed it information because it became the cover.

That was the smokescreen.

They did not want us to know because they did not want Russia to know.
I am not sure that the continuing use of it today is not still a smokescreen for what they are really doing. They are releasing all these blurry videos. It is not even as good as the video you saw in the trial. They show you this grainy thing and you ask, "That is all you have? You do not have any better video than that?"

They do not want to show us anything. They want to keep us thinking it is something else. It keeps the natural mind, especially the conspiratorial or inquisitive mind, distracted.

The U-2 became operational in 1956. It conducted vital flights over the USSR, revealing Soviet military capabilities. It was later used in the Cuban Missile Crisis.

That is how we found out missiles were down there.

Area 51 later hosted tests for other programs, including the A-12 Oxcart, the predecessor of the Blackbird.

Those planes could go over eighty thousand feet. They had to find a way to go faster because Russia had learned to find them and shoot them down.

Can you imagine going from around 600 miles an hour to 2,100 miles an hour?

Amazing. They said the wings would get hot. They would burn off. So they used titanium.

But no, people say they got that information from alien research. Folks, God made man with a mind able to do these things. They discovered you could not use aluminum because of the heat. You could not use steel because of the weight. Titanium was the answer. They figured that out.
Man did this. He did not need an alien to bring him something that did not already exist in the physical creation.
People see something that looks like a flying wing. But we showed you one from the 1940s.
I will never forget, just a few years ago, I was near Columbus, Ohio. There is an air base there, and a B-2 was coming in. I had never seen one except in pictures. I was driving down the road, and I looked up and saw this big V-shaped wing. It was eerie, because it was getting ready to land and slowing down for its descent.
I can only imagine if you saw that for the first time and you were out on a ranch somewhere.
The U.S. government did not officially acknowledge the existence of Area 51 until 2013. I was shocked when I read that.

Later, in developing stealth aircraft, they developed an unbelievable stealth bomber that produces only what would look like the size of a BB on a radar screen. How did they design that? Through the mind of man, physics, mathematics, and figuring out the angles.

So let's say this before we lose time. Everybody talks about, "As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the days of the coming of the Son of Man." What you need to understand is what we are talking about here.
Before the flood, under the canopy, man was able to use 100 percent of his brain. What did God say about them? Their imagination was evil only continually.
If we are watching and talking about what a man who can use, at most, perhaps 20 percent of his brain power has the ability to imagine and do, can you imagine what it would have been like in Noah's day?
So when it says, "As it was in the days of Noah," He is not talking about the return of aliens or fallen angels. He is talking about the ability of man to approach a place where his imaginations are of this nature and beyond.

I guarantee you, folks, what started as people being enamored with something that happened was encouraged by the government. It became the cover, or as you say, the smokescreen, for what they were really doing.
The things that were developed out of that later led them to another place called Area 52, where even more secret research continued.
Why in the world do God's people have to try to figure out how to squeeze God's Bible into what they think they know from life? It is a shame.

I want to say something before we close. I keep forgetting to talk about our little missionary radios. They are $25 apiece. We can get these into the mission field. They do not need electricity or anything. Each one can have the Bible in the listener's language, a message in that language about salvation and discipleship, and it has a crank and is solar powered.
Our missionaries and national pastors can give them into places where the gospel cannot go.
