Reverend Jeff Carter is Pastor of Ephesus Ministries in Buffalo, NY. Ephesus Ministries is a vibrant, community involved congregation on the east side of Buffalo. Ephesus is a Ministry on the EDGE – Evangelism, Discipleship, Growth, and Empowerment.
Rev. Carter is also an Adjunct Instructor at Houghton College Buffalo and Director of the Urban Ministry Advancement Program (UMAP) of Houghton College. He retired from Attica Correctional Facility after serving as Chaplain for 25 years. His ministry at Attica touch literally thousands of lives, including some of the most noted law-breakers in New York state.
A Certified Cultural Diversity Trainer, Rev. Carter has facilitated Diversity sessions for the City of Buffalo, Tonawanda Police Department as well as other suburban Police Departments, and last summer facilitated diversity sessions for the Lancaster Board of Education and all teaching staff.
Rev. Carter serves on numerous Boards including National Federation for Just Communities and Network of Religious Communities.
Rev. Carter has a B.S. degree in Mathematics and Physics Education from Grambling State University in Louisiana, and an M.S. Degree in Education and Counseling from Canisius College in Buffalo.
Rev. Carter has 3 adult children, 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.. Over the last 40 years, he and his wife foster parented dozens of children in their home.
