How do you feel about the Electoral College? This week we have guest Michael Baer who started the online campaign to Abolish the Electoral College on MoveOn.org (https://petitions.moveon.org/sign/abolish-the-electoral-6?source=c.fwd&r_by=4535897). Abolishing the Electoral College would require an amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Michael would like to see presidential elections decided by the popular vote. One person; one vote should determine the one leader who is supposed to answer to all the people of America. For the first two years, Michael’s petition received only 2,000 signatures. In the last 10 days, it has received more than a half a million additional signatures. The petition will be delivered to the President of the United States, and members of the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives.
In 1980 Charmian Redwood had a Near Death Experience in which she returned to Oneness and remembered Who She Is. Since that time she has been assisting others through her workshops and personal sessions to reconnect with and their own Divine Self and to activate the DNA codes for ascension. She has remembered her many lives as a teacher and healer in the mystery schools always guiding her students to find the God Within and to empower themselves.
Since moving to Hawaii in 2006 Charmian Redwood has brought forward many memories of Ancient Lemuria where we lived in Oneness and used our intention and connection to the Source to create everything we needed in our lives. Her work now is to bring back the teams who worked in the Ancient Crystal Cities so that we can begin to create our New World.
Charmian offers sessions of Hypnotherapy for the Soul. She guides her clients to experience themselves as Soul, to ask what The Soul wishes to say to the personality self and to look at the cause of any issues which clients may be experiencing in their lives such as illness, relationships, employment. The Soul knows everything about us, past, present and future. These sessions can be done by skype or phone. She also offers Akashic soul readings where she brings through memories of past lives in the temples, on other stars and guides the client through initiations they had in Lemuria, Atlantis, Egypt, Sirius etc. Charmian taught in all of the Mystery Schools of the past and in this lifetime she is meeting her former students and taking them in just a few sessions to reclaim the knowledge which once took years of apprenticeship to achieve.
Charmian offers many workshops on connecting with archangels, a Mystery school where students learn to receive their own messages.

HARI MENON was born in Kuwait, the third and youngest of three children, where his father was working as an expatriate, initial schooling was carried out there and then returned to India, where he further did his Secondary Schooling in a Convent school and, his undergraduation in Science, switched channels and took a Baccalaureate in Commerce and so became a second generation accountant (his father being one himself). Higher professional education was pursued and qualified as a Chartered Accountant .
Work and career began at at an early age of 18 and the bulk of working life was in the middle east in various countries – UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait and a short stint in Nigeria. Over two or three stints abroad. Given to the liking for the psychical at a very early age, at the age of 32 decided that the world had nothing more to offer, gave up the idea of hearth and home parents and wealth and, moved on in a very determined manner to the soul and spirituality side of life Took initiation from a lesser known person, practised for a year and then took up sannyasa as per vedic rites having been given the name of “ Swami Dhyananada Saraswati”– living in ashrams and a short sojourn in the Himalayas (really short – the winter was upsetting) returned to ashram and continued practices.
Disillusioned by the various malpractices and wrong information within this sphere of human studies, left for home as a sannyasi but resident at home – The Mahabharata prescribes this method quite strongly. I was laso lucky in that both my parents were full fledged yogis unknown to others but who lived fully knowing themselves and others. It has had its effects on me also quite naturally .
Having been single and travelled extensively to various ancient civilizations much of the esoteric was instilled during his childhood and youth. Given to deep thinking on events occurring to oneself and having keenly felt the “need to know” as to “why” and “what”. Has travelled and imbibed the air and sun of Ancient Greece, Persepolis, Heliopolis, Egypt, the Mediterranean islands, Constantinople, Levant and middle east and India and the raw natural energy emanating from Africa. The excerpt (from my book) tells everything -
All these meditations may be said to have been written as a person recovering from an unwanted illness. It has been arduous not to say the least; it has taken me the better part of 20 long years of convalescence if I may be permitted to say so. Mostly written in pain and deep thought, they may seem abstruse to a reader .But these were necessary where at times the hyper use of blocked judgement and reason were involved. Someone who has not gone through a similar period of extreme agony would not have any reason to even go through these meditations. At times they have been helpful in nursing me back to my health, and at times quite surprising in themselves as to their content. Each one of these meditations has been written more in a therapeutic vein than for any open public readership. They follow a common thread, viz one of recovery which no doctor can help but one reaches into one’s own depths and reserves and pulls one out. The ideas may be familiar to readers of philosophy, but then it is understandably so as to some extent philosophy has been relied upon. It is surprising to me that I am alive at all, the intrusions have taken its toll and, sometimes I wonder at the very use of it all. The saddest part is in that, of what took place in my life or a majority of the incidents of the last 20 years have been totally unnecessary and point to a supreme lack of regard for life and its continuance within the ethos of this one country and world .
Whatever good may ultimately emerge from all these exercises , one thing is certain , one has forever lost regard for the country and world and places in which these incidents took place and nothing will ever wipe away either the pain or meaninglessness of the very violence inherent in whatever was extended as teachings of a higher nature .
“Arjuna, everything exists as an idea within me, but really speaking,
Neither am I in them nor they in me “. – Bhagavad Gita
“................and that, when I had an inclination to philosophy, I did not fall into the hands of any sophist , and that I did not waste my time on writers of histories, or in the resolution of syllogisms, or occupy myself about the investigation of appearances in the heavens , for all these things require the help of the gods and fortune...........................” - Marcus Aurelius
Having been my “own doctor” and as the Upanishads proclaim - ......if so done , he cannot be set right by any doctor .........
Having started out as a youth aged 28 brimming with hope and now 53 wiser and fuller as a human being – my travails, travels, and background helped me – with help from people I know in distant lands yet unconnected physically , but only by understanding and understanding alone.
Presently I work to earn a living , do not save , at heart I am a sannyasi , I have had only one guru (myself ) and one excellent teacher and his demonstrations (which count for nothing in the light of ignorance). I have lost nothing but all my youth and productive years- the result is gratifying so one does not complain .
Most of all I am myself and know myself through and through – which is really what we all crave for . My credo “The impossibility of One Being another” . No question is too hard anymore , no answer too soft .

JONAH BOLT A STARSEED The signs were there from the very beginning, just looking at his birth announcement alone. Jonah Bolt Yolman Arrived on Mother Gaia January 1st, 1979. He was the first baby born New Years Day in his county and hit the spotlight right from the start. He has had many dreams & visions during his life that have developed into real experiences. He was present at the 9/11 tragedy, intuitively the night before he told his girlfriend to call in sick to work that day to go to a doctor appontment. She did, but lost 3 people in her office on the 81st floor of The World Trade Center. On his way to work that day the trained stopped on top of the bridge into Manhattan at 9:05 am. As he was watching tower one burn the 2nd plane hit the tower shortly after. In 2002 he went to Israel, the first night he arrived he was in Tel Aviv blocks away when the first ever two female suicide bombers struck. The following year Jonah was in London, the bombings happened 2 blocks from his friends work there. One of the only subways he took while visiting him. The next year Jonah arrived in Thailand and was actually on the opposite side of the island when the tsunami hit. Months previous, Jonah had changed his trip from Phuket which was wiped out to KO Sumo. Some of Jonah's travels have included Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Amsterdam, Switzerland, France, Monaco, Spain, Canada, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, London, Israel, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, BVI's, Bahamas, USVI's and Mexico. Jonah has a deep connection to music, is naturally outgoing, and open minded. He is an intuitive leader on a spiritual path toward Ascension. "I know we are not alone in the universe and we are all headed home. Years ago I began my travels in the direction and flow of life. Everything is happening for a reason, things will always work themselves out!"

HELEN WOO
Depressed, Unhappy, Stuck in Life?
Then Take Your Cue from Helen Woo’s “Self-Aid” to Put Your Life Back on Track
Woo Offers the Transformative Thinking That Helped Her Overcome the Miseries in Her Life
Helen Woo endured her life. It wasn’t living. Raised in a restrictive traditional Chinese-American household, she experienced self-esteem issues, mental and physical abuse, grief, substance abuse, betrayal and depression. Yet she still managed to have a successful career that allowed her to build a bit of a nest egg. Later, when she invested it in a partnership with a close friend, only to have her partner steal all of the assets, that betrayal was the last straw. Alone and raising a son, Woo knew something had to change-and it wasn’t the world around her-it was the world within her.
Freed by the laughter she experienced watching Ellen DeGeneres each day, Woo realized that laughter was indeed the best medicine for her. During her healing, she started to read inspirational books, and as she did, she began to revise what she was reading into her own, positive, uplifting interpretations so that it directly applied to her. Each negative thought or emotion was then subjected to a “rewrite” in her mind, so that soon she could feel the shift in both her inner AND outer life.
Having experienced a philosophical and spiritual shift, Woo created the concept of Self-AID–an acronym that stands for Self-Aid (self-help), Esteem, Love/Laughter, Freedom, Attitude, Integrity, Dream. Her new book SELF-AID – Inspirations to Turn Struggles into Success (January, 2015), allows her readers to be inspired and uplifted by the very quotes that ultimately turned her life around. Each quote is followed by one of her unique “Wooisms” – the ideal way to interpret the quote to engineer a shift into a higher and better way of thinking. The book, divided into each of these categories, provides SELF-AID for anyone to lift out of their doldrums or depression and move into a life filled with joy, peace, gratitude and prosperity.
Woo is passionate about paying it forward–giving others the thrust they need to overcome whatever past traumas and dramas might have held them back. With her new book, her radio show, SELF-AID Success Stories, and her second book of the same title, due in the spring, Woo shares empowering and inspiring stories from successful entrepreneurs and public figures on how they overcame their own struggles and failures. Woo is also creating a SELF-AID foundation for empowerment that gives people the courage to change from a negative to a positive framework in their lives; leaving the struggle behind and experiencing the surge!
Woo is now an emerging speaker, writer and leader, who brings a welcome ultra-positive perspective to everything she does. SELF-AID Inspirations to Turn Struggles into Success is a key to opening up the reader’s heart and mind to re-frame his or her life from lackluster to luscious.
Ms. Woo would be happy to offer quotes and “Wooisms” from SELF-AID Inspirations to Turn Struggles into Success. For an engaging and shot-in-the-arm interview with Helen Woo, please send an email with the name of the show, your contact information, a proposed date and time, and the calling details.

Professor, Political Activist, Author
Dr. Mark Naison is professor of African American studies and history at Fordham University. He is author of many books and articles including 'Communists in Harlem During the Depression', 'White Boy: A Memoir' and his newest book 'Badass Teachers Unite! Reflections on Education History and Youth Activism'. The founder of the Bronx African American History project, Naison has emerged in the last five years as a passionate defender of America's public school teachers and students, founding groups like Dump Duncan, the Teachers Talk Back Project, and most recently, the Badass Teachers Association.. He was a former political activist who was a member of CORE and SDS in the 1960s. He is a graduate of Columbia University and holds a Ph. D. in American History.
He has written over a hundred articles and published three books on urban history, African-American History, and the history of sports. Naison has also appeared on The O'Reilly Factor, Chappelle's Show, and The Discovery Channel's Greatest American Competition. He has also been an outspoken critic of Teach for America.
Naison is co-founder of the Badass Teachers Association, a group dedicated to fighting the Common Core Curriculum and corporate influences on American education. His newest book is 'Badass Teachers Unite! Reflections on Education History and Youth Activism'. In this incisive collection of essays, educator and activist Mark Naison draws on years of research on Bronx history and his own experience on the front lines of the education wars to unapologetically defend teachers and students from education “reform” policies that undermine their power and creativity.
Naison shows how dominant education policy systematically hurts the very children it claims to support and instead forces them to “race to the top.” He exposes the Duncans, Rhees, and Gateses for schemes that intensify racial and economic inequality. And he refocuses the conversation on teaching and organizing strategies that should be implemented in communities everywhere.
Review
—Henry Louis Taylor Jr., director, UB Center for Urban Studies, University at Buffalo
“Mark Naison is a badass—and it took one to write this rousing pronouncement to the militancy emerging among today’s schoolteachers. There was an era when educators were feared by the corporate establishment. As Time magazine wrote in 1963, ‘The U.S. teacher used to be afraid to smoke, chew, cuss or ask for a raise. Now he denounces crowded classrooms, upbraids lawmakers, and goes on strike almost as readily as a dockworker.’ Mark Naison’s Badass Teachers Unite! brings back the attitude we need to confront the corporate reform bullies and reclaim our schools.”

Parent, Education Activist, Possible Candidate for New Britian CT BOE
My name is Aggie Kurzyna and I am running for the New Britain Board of Education. I am a parent, a grandparent and a lifelong New Britain resident who cares deeply about my community. I am taking the leap to run for a seat on the BOE as I have found education advocacy is my life’s purpose and passion.
For too many years, New Britain parents have struggled with trusting the New Britain school district. My mission once on the board of education will be to rebuild the trust between parents, students and the school district. Clearly, if families and schools are to form partnerships that work, there must first be a foundation of mutual trust, confidence, and respect.
Students will need more than just good teachers and smaller class sizes to meet the challenges of tomorrow. For students to get the most out of school, we need to promote a partnership between parents, community leaders, and schools. Only through partnerships can our schools keep improving and stay on the right track. In my opinion, the biggest single dilemma in local education today is making significant decisions about schools without genuinely accepting input from parents and community members. This demoralizes and discourages those who are most actively involved in our city’s schools.
Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am a first generation Polish American, born and raised in New Britain. My parents emigrated here in 1973. My significant other, Gerry Benitez, is Puerto Rican, which makes our children Polorican. Gerry and I have been together for 15 years.
I was a high school dropout who worked diligently to get my GED and college degree and have established an 18 year career in Project Management. In addition to my job as a Project Manager, I also chair a mentoring program at my place of employment. Now in its 30th year, the program provides an opportunity for students in grades 3-8 from the Fred D.Wish Elementary School in Hartford to spend time with a caring adult in the business community.
I am a parent and a woman with a diverse background that has been through many life experiences which have brought me to where I am today. I am a passionate, caring person who wants to work with other compassionate and focused people to bring about meaningful and sustainable changes to this community. The amount of heart I possess for this work is clearly displayed in the amount of research, time, and energy I give to the many issues that must be addressed.
For over five years I have dedicated nearly all my free time to advocating for an equitable and quality education for ALL children. I've worked hard with many other passionate people to bring concerns to light and look for solutions.
