Stephen L. Kolb is an organizer, writer, photographer, videographer and actor. He is currently working on a documentary film on the movement for DC statehood.

Following the 2004 national election, Stephen teamed up with a small group highly motivated creatives and began producing a weekly, two-hour video magazine, MediaEdge, covering local political and cultural events airing on four Public Access stations in the Sacramento, CA market. WeTheMedia, the group’s mission has been to foster and encourage an informed and motivated electorate incapable of letting another 2000 or 2004 election happen by virtue of its education and civic involvement.

We the Media is an all-volunteer nonprofit group dedicated to bringing independent progressive video programming to community cable access channels.

While there, Stephen covered the American Friends’ Service Committee Eyes Wide Open “Boots Project” 60- city tour. During its three days in Sacramento, he produced an 8-minute piece for an upcoming broadcast. “Eyes Wide Open: a video tone poem,” was recognized with a WAVE (Western Access Video Excellence) Award

and two National Hometown Video Festival Awards for professional production. MediaEdge now airs on eight PEG channels from Eureka/Arcata, CA to Cambridge, MA.

Stephen is a General Member of the American Society of Media Photographers (film and video), the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, and Actors Equity Association. In late 2007, he moved with his wife of now 36 years to Washington, DC and has continued freelance photo and video production along with a part-time job working as a Trainer at an Apple Computer Store in Northern Virginia.

Stephen holds a Master of Public Administration/Health Services Administration from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from UCLA.

Eve Shippens is a parent, teacher and alumni of the Buffalo Public Schools. She is fighting for the children's right to an equitable, quality, enriching public education. Buffalo has a child poverty rate of close to 50% and is one of the most segregated cities in the country. Eve became active in the fight when the state of New York declared her school, along with three others, out of time and decided to shut them down. She fought with hundreds of students, teachers, families and other activists to keep the schools open and public!

Aurora is a Galactic walk-in and visionary artist. She came into this physical body, and into this world, in 2001 via the Flying Rainbow Lasagne, a hyper-dimensional portal shape she spontaneously invented.

Since then, Aurora has spent her time expressing the concept of the Flying Rainbow Lasagne (FRL) in drawings, paintings, sculptures, animations, and in an online class called Lessons for Full Spectrum Humans. Debra Hamilton has spent 30 years as a practicing litigator, but she is now a full-time mediator and conflict coach for people in disputes over animals. She has far-reaching experience in resolving interpersonal conflicts involving animals, and speaks widely on the topic of how mediation techniques can help people address conflicts without going to court. Debra has presented at veterinary school and all kinds of animal interest groups as well as at the American Kennel Club, the American Veterinary Medical Law Association, the Society of Animal Welfare Administrators and state bar association Animal Law Committee meetings.
