ABOUT RICHARD STOCKER and THE COLORING WELL
Richard Stocker has been an artist since childhood, and a Somatic Body Worker (Rolfer) for more than 30 years with additional training in Ayurvedic Medicine and a wealth of experience living among Native Americans. He has travelled the world sharing his art as a healing tool, introducing thousands of people to his unique black and white designs and the life-affirming benefits of coloring them. Along the way, this work evolved from its roots as an organization called Hospital Art for Kids (providing cancer families with coloring art to get their minds off their worries and to encourage togetherness) into a company called Richard’s Rainbow bringing Richard’s coloring medicine into prisons, elder-care centers, orphanages, disaster relief areas, and many schools, clinics, and camps.
Now, a new evolution is under way. Together with his partner, Cathy Shap, a writer and mindfulness teacher, Richard has created The Coloring Well to serve another group in need: the consummate and disconnected multitasker. Stress, anxiety, worry, and depression have become epidemic in our homes. Richard and Cathy love to show people that through the creative and meditative practice of coloring Richard’s designs they can tap into the sensitivity that will allow them to handle what needs to be handled in their lives with more grace. And they’ll make something beautiful to view in the process. The world and the future depend on healthy, mindful adults, and The Coloring Well offers beautifully designed creative products to support this.
The Coloring Well Website will be launching soon. If you’d like to receive a FREE design to color and notification of The Coloring Well grand opening.
