Dr. Tammy Penhollow earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Kirksville, MO as a recipient of a US Navy Health Professions Scholarship. She was active as the President of the Sports Medicine Club, providing medical coverage for high school and community athletic events. She also competed regularly in road running and duathlons as a medical student. Dr. Penhollow completed her transitional year internship at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, WA and immediately upon graduation, began her US Navy career deployed to Kosovo as the solo physician for a 720-person US Naval Mobile Construction Battalion. This was followed by a second General Medical Officer assignment for three years as an instructor for the Navy’s Independent Duty Corpsman school, where she taught physical diagnosis and medical diagnosis and treatment to the Navy’s advanced corpsmen who were assigned to forward deployed marine units, submarines, and special forces units.
Dr. Penhollow completed her Anesthesiology residency at the National Capital Consortium (National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda and Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington DC), with a focus on regional anesthesia, acute and chronic pain management. After residency she was a staff Anesthesiologist at US Naval Hospitals in Okinawa, Japan and Rota, Spain; at both hospitals, she established and ran a chronic pain clinic in addition to serving as an Anesthesiologist. She was also deployed as an Anesthesiologist to Djibouti, Africa in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
After her US Navy career, Dr. Penhollow chose to subspecialize in Pain Management and was fellowship trained at Stanford University School of Medicine. She is board-certified by the American Society of Anesthesiologists in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. She possesses advanced musculoskeletal knowledge and is highly trained and skilled at ultrasound and fluoroscopy guided spine, joint, and soft tissue injections, as well as in aesthetic procedures. Her passion is regenerative medicine and whole-body wellness. At Precision Regenerative Medicine in Scottsdale, Arizona, Dr. Penhollow provides personalized consultations where she develops individualized treatment plans for musculoskeletal and spine interventions with PRP and bone marrow aspirate using image guidance, as well as micro-needling with PRP for skin, hair, and anti-aging conditions. She also stays active in teaching as an Instructor in Anesthesiology for the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science, and as a Supplemental Consultant for the Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine at Mayo Clinic Phoenix.
