Former three-term D.C. Councilmember Kathleen (Kathy) Patterson became D.C. Auditor on December 15, 2014, after being nominated and confirmed unanimously by the D.C. Council to ; she was subsequently nominated and confirmed unanimously by the Council for a six-year term on February 7, 2023.
Raised off-the-grid in Mendocino County, Anna Birkás grew up with a deep connection to nature and a commitment to sustainability. As a professional scientist often working in remote, male-dominated environments, she experienced firsthand the challenges women face with bathroom access in the field. Anna has her M.S. in Hydrology, and B.S. in Environmental Ecology and is a licensed General Engineering contractor.
