Dr. Roy Richard Grinker

This show was fraught with technical difficulties but well worth a listen to.  Dr. Grinker, working under a grant, sought to look at autism from a world view an anthropological perspective.  His research in other countries [for example inKorea, where mothers are blamed for a childs autism], combined with his own experience with his autistic daughter, Isabel, are the basis of his new book, Unstrange Minds: Remapping the World of Autism.  A father, a Daughter and a Search for New Answers.  Dr. Grinker agreed with a caller who informed the audience about the ability of the Tomatis Method to reverse dyslexia and assist in the reversal of the social and listening skills of autistic children. Several email writers challenged his views that vaccinations have no part in autism.  Dr. Rebecca Carleys (drcarley.com) work was discussed as well as David Kirbys publication, Evidence of Harm.  Kirby makes a compelling argument that the govt and pharmaceutical companies are attempting to manipulate autism statistics.  An emailer made a compelling argument that if there is no connection between vaccination and adverse reactions, why does the government pay out millions of dollars to children who are damaged through the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program? This is a quote from the Introduction to Unstrange Minds:  An increasing number of them [parents] are choosing to withhold much-needed vaccinations for their children out of the fear that they will contract autism, although a connection between vaccinations and autism has never been firmly established." https://royrichardgrinker.com/
