Sara Robinson
Sara Robinson Chambless is an inspirational writer, speaker, and teacher who seeks to empower individuals to lead rich and satisfying lives free from worry, stress, and fear. She is a lifelong spiritual aspirant whose daily practices continue to nourish and elevate her soul to higher levels of understanding. For over thirty years in varied professional roles as a performing artist, scholar, and teacher, she has received, strengthened, and shared many gifts of the spirit.
Sara holds a BA in philosophy from Agnes Scott College and M.Ed. from the University of Houston, along with certifications in numerous healing modalities and contemplative practices. She is the author of the play Refuge and other published poetry, plays, and articles. In 2006 she produced and hosted Conscious Creating: the Art of Transformation, an internationally broadcast talk-show on BBS Radio where she interviewed luminaries in holistic arts and letters. From 2006-2011 Sara worked closely with best-selling self-realization author Guy Finley and served on the team that produced the popular 2011 video and interactive website, One Journey Sara teaches at the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies in Rhinebeck, NY as a member of the Staff Programs Faculty. She lives in Atlanta, GA.
In addition to her work as an artist, Ms. Robinson has been recognized as a gifted teacher. Her wit, authenticity and enthusiasm have made her a beloved speaker on creativity and parenting. A published poet,journalist, and essayist, Ms. Robinson has turned intensively to playwriting, completing four plays in five years since her move to Atlanta, GA in 2000. Her plays are: Soul Mothers, a one-woman show she performs celebrating women in the arts who have inspired her work (produced as fundraiser, Atlanta 2001); Snow Bound, a dark comedy about the escapades of an eccentric southern family (two readings, Atlanta 2003, 2004); Her Place, a drama exploring the relationship between six women from ethnically diverse backgrounds (in development); and Refuge, a socio-political allegory examining the cost of inflexible thinking to the individual and society (workshop production funded by Georgia Council of the Arts at Actors Express Theater, Atlanta 2006). Ms. Robinson is currently researching her first screenplay, Particles of Faith, and writing a non-fiction book, Conscious Creating, the art of transformation. She is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America, Inc. (DGA), Association of Independents in Radio (AIR), Public Radio Exchange (PRX) and American Women in Radio & Television, Inc. (AWRT)
