S2EP44, Dream Big, Work Hard and Never Quit with Nazi Refugee and Successful Marketing Executive Barbara Sommer Feigin

I read Barbara's book, “My American Dream” twice. I couldn't get her parents’ harrowing escape from Nazi Germany out of my mind. What her father did to make it happen is truly heroic. At a time when it was nearly impossible to leave the country, he kept finding one alternate route after another. Barbara, as a 3 year old, traveled from Germany to Lithuania to Russia to China to Korea to Japan to Canada and then to the US. Not knowing how they were going to do it, her parents started a whole new life in America. Barbara wanted to fit in with the other kids and be an American, so never asked about their journey. When her sister found their father’s journal, they were fascinated.

"My American Dream," by Barbara Sommer Feigin tells her parents story and her own. She hopes you will get the importance of freedom, the power of education, how her strong family bonds kept her going in difficult times, and her mother's motto - Dream Big, Work Hard, and Never Quit.

Barbara and her family are true American heroes. Thank you, Barbara for your courage, being willing to have your voice heard, and your inspiration.
