Title: S4EP10, A New Way to Process Trauma with Stephen Quandt

Summary:
Wow! This interview blew my mind. Stephen's story is rich, eye-opening, and filled my soul. Starting out as a theatrical lighting designer, Stephen started working with animal welfare, particularly with cats. His journey led him to the site of the Joplin tornado, taking care of abandoned animals.

Stephen had a life-changing experience with a cat he named Petunia and was never the same. He learned how to alleviate the suffering and trauma of animals and eventually started working full time in animal welfare.

Stephen got his certification in cat behavior and now speaks and travels to different locations, sharing what he has learned. Our conversation was eye opening for both of us.

BIO
Stephen is the founder of Stephen Quandt Feline Behavior Associates, LLC, and is a Feline Training and Behavior Specialist certified through the Animal Behavior Institute and a recent author with the publication of his first children’s book, HAPPY COMES HOME available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. He is a professional feline behavior specialist with over 20 years of experience working with cats in private consultations, animal shelters and in the field. A background of nationwide rescue work with the ASPCA greatly enriched his empathy with communities of cat lovers in need of help. In 2019 he participated in a spay/neuter and research campaign to assist the animals that live in the exclusion zone around the Chernobyl nuclear plant, many of whom have descended from the pets left behind after the accident in 1986. His current work with the Animal Care Centers of NYC advances that compassionate connection.
