Episode 8: Alcoholics Anonymous & A Course in Miracles, with Special Guest, Ordained Ministerial Counselor Stephan Mead.

Join Psychic, Medium and Host Shelly J. Miller for an inspiring conversation with Guest Stephan Mead, a facilitator of both Alcoholics Anonymous Classes and A Course in Miracles Classes. Steve says of his story that he “found the magic of alcohol and the persuasive promises of the ego in high school”. To his parents disappointment he did not go to college, but rather joined the Marine Corps 2 weeks after high school graduation. He says, though he did not realize it, Boot Camp would be the only time in the next 18 years that he wouldn’t be drinking daily. Steve talks about feeling like a failure but being good at presenting a false front. He shares that alcohol dependency had his life, business and relationships in ruins. He joined AA in 1986 and participated for 17 years but still felt like he was “missing something”. In 2003, his second marriage “blew up”, and he once again, felt like a failure as he did when he had first joined AA. He had a thought that “there must be a better way to live”, and through a series of “coincidences” came across the book A Course in Miracles. In 2006, after reading the book cover to cover many times, he found Pathways of Light, an organization whose main purpose is to help one experience the teachings of A Course in Miracles. In 2010 he started facilitating classes in Alcoholics Anonymous and A Course in Miracles and, now is an Ordained Ministerial Counselor for the Pathways of Light. Listen to Steve’s insights into the way out of addiction to peace.
