Medical Marijuana and Its Impact on the Community: with guest Linda Mercado Greene. Linda Mercado Greene, is the Owner and Board Chair of Anacostia Organics — a 100% minority woman-owned medical marijuana dispensary in Washington, DC's Ward 8, which opened in January 2019. Ms. Greene is also the co-founder, chair of the board and CEO of BCG Holdings, Inc. Linda has been very influential in shaping the emerging cannabis industry in DC and on Capitol Hill.

Guest is Dr. Robert P. Holman, currently serving as the Interim Medical Director and Assistant Fire Chief for the Washington, DC Fire and Emergency Management System (EMS). DC has the highest per capita of 911 calls in the nation. He has served as the inter-agency Chair of the Integrated Healthcare Collaborative whose goal is to develop more appropriate avenues of same-day medical care for those with low acuity medical needs.

Our guest this week is David Schwartzman, Professor Emeritus at Howard University, Ecosocialist, Environmental Scientist focusing on biogeochemistry, climate change and energy. Washington DC was the first city in the United States to issue gender neutral driver’s licenses and identification (ID) documents. The new policy went into effect June 27. It allows people to choose “X” as their gender if they do not identify as either male or female. Our guest, Nic Sakurai, became the first person in the United States to officially receive a driver’s license with an “X” as an unspecified/other gender marker on June 27, 2017.
