SHORT DESCRIPTION

Happy Veterans Day 2009.  When Johnny and Jane Come Marching Home.  How do we trat the returning veteran?  What can they teach us about peace?  How do we honor them and yet advocate for peace?  These questions and more are discussed by the Rev. Penny Phillips of the VA Hospital System in Palo Alto,  Rev. Brian Baker, Episcopal priest and West Point graduate, and Andrea Baker, Episcopal seminarian and West Point graduate.  Rev. Baker and his wife Andrea are also members of Knights Out, the LGBT alumni of West Point.

CI Confronting the Issues

Show Host

Live from the Leland Tea Company, in San Francisco.
Bringing a progressive faith perspective to the issues of the day.

The unconventional is nothing new for Recia Ann Young, host and moderator for CI: Confronting the Issues. Ordained through an independent, evangelical tradition, Rev. Young hardly matches the typical political and social views of that tradition. She would describe herself as a believer in the value and worth of all people, and that Christ was the epitome of demonstrating the unconditional love and acceptance of the divine. She would say, she is striving to follow Jesus’ model.
