Lee Tannen is a playwright, producer, and the author of the autobiographical memoir I Loved Lucy; a funny and poignant story about his friendship with Lucille Ball in the last decade of her life.  Published by St. Martin's Press in 2001, I Loved Lucy is a personal, "warts and all" portrait of a lady whose public persona is known worldwide.  In 2010, Lee adapted I Love Lucy for the stage where it premiered at the Laguna Playhouse.  In 2016, it premiered off the West End at the prestigious Jermyn Street Theatre where it received critical acclaim.  Lee directed All the World's a Stage at Carnegie Hall, and has written material for Joan Rivers, Elizabeth Taylor, Shirley MacLaine, among others.  He lives in the Hudson Valley with his partner, Tom.
