After the House of Representatives passed H.R. 51, the Washington, DC Admission Act, the NAACP encouraged its 2.2 million members to contact members of the Senate to cosponsor the companion legislation, S.631. Maria and I will speak with Mr. Shelton about the NAACP's advocacy efforts during the Black Lives Matter movement, their upcoming move to DC and next steps for statehood.
