Cecil Bernard, affectionately known as “The Artist to the Stars,” is a celebrated contemporary and abstract expressionist whose vibrant, soulful artworks have graced the homes of over 100 millionaires and institutions across the nation. With a signature style that captures the rhythm of jazz, the soul of Black culture, and the vibrancy of modern life, Bernard’s work stands as a cultural treasure.
In January 2025, he was honored with the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from President Joseph Biden. This marked his second such distinction, having previously received the same prestigious honor from President Barack Obama for his outstanding contributions to the arts and community.
Cecil Bernard’s pieces are featured in prestigious collections at Fort Valley State University, Oakwood University, University of Delaware, the University of Alabama, and the world-renowned Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture at the New York Public Library.
His remarkable impact on the arts was further recognized on January 27, 2025, when he was honored with his own commemorative day: “Mr. Cecil Bernard Day.”
