The Journey 8 with Reverend Judy Hosner and special guest Madison Hertel

When Madison was 5 years old her mother took her to see Les Misérables. On the ride home that night she proclaimed “That’s gonna be me one day,” and has never stopped trying to achieve that goal.

Her confidence, vocal skills and maturity beyond her years helped her earn roles beginning that very year. She has been in over 20 productions and has shown incredible range playing roles such as Sara Crewe in A Little Princess, Susan Waverly in White Christmas, a very convincing Tommy Stubbins in Doctor Dolittle and the comedic Inspector Hound in The Real Inspector Hound. Her directors appreciate her exceptional memorization skills and ability to adapt to any situation while maintaining professionalism, a sense of humor and positive attitude. Madison captivates audiences with her expressive face and ability to truly become the character she plays.

A singer, actor and dancer, Madison has trained at Interlochen Center for the Arts (Interlochen, MI), Broadway Artists Alliance (NYC), Take it From the Top Broadway Workshops and with vocalist Lynne Church (Carlotta, Phantom of the Opera Touring and Toronto). Personal highlights from her training include an Annie Master Class with Andrea McArdle, a Glee Master Class with Telly Leung and having the honor of being invited to perform in the High School Musical production of Children of Eden at Interlochen.

Her favorite role has been Sarah Crewe (A Little Princess) and she would love to play Patrice (13-The Musical), Winnie (Tuck Everlasting), Eponine (Les Misérables), Wednesday (Addams Family), & Tracy Turnblad (Hairspray) someday.

Madison’s friends joke with her about how much time she spends on musical theatre. She even has a pin on her backpack that says “I can’t, I have rehearsal,” and she wouldn’t have it any other way. In her free time Madison plays with her younger sister Natalie and Jack Russell Terrier, Maisy. She enjoys water and snow skiing, swimming, is a reading fanatic, loves scary movies and would give her right pinky to join the cast of Pretty Little Liars.
