A born and raised California sea lady, singer/songwriter Kaylinn Douthett began to record her melodies in her modest homemade studio on the Central Coast of California. Drawing influences from all that is around her, her style is somewhat stripped down, simple and refreshing in this day and age. She focuses less on polishing imperfections, and more on embracing the pure emotion and delicate feelings that emerge in new ways each time she sings a song. She calls herself The Carpenter’s Wife, and is accompanied by many other musician friends that contribute their individuality to create a unique blend of folk music. Layering sound, losing control, aiming to capture serendipity, and celebrating that moment when they feel like they do indeed capture it. Serendipity that is. Everything in its right place. Eventually.
Timeless, fluid, and fun nonetheless– that is The Carpenter’s Wife.
