Her training as a Systems & Control  Engineer is critical and uniquely supports her with managing patients' lymphatic systems that has been altered by disease, injury, chemical/radiation exposures or from congenital defects.

Dr. Sylvia's goal is to promote local and regional knowledge and excellence about lymphatic diseases and chronic disorders of swelling and pain  in Illinois' Fox Valley Region, in Chicago's western suburbs.

She is a perennial supporter of the Lymphatic Education Research Network, https://lymphaticnetwork.org/

The Pain Drain Doctor

The Pain Drain Doctor with Dr Sylvia Hood Washington
Dr Sylvia Hood Washington

The Pain Drain Doctor with Dr Sylvia Hood Washington, is a show primarily focused on how to use natural techniques and medical products, like the BEMER,  to support patients who have  CHRONIC PAIN, CHRONIC SWELLING, CIRCULATION ISSUES  or a CHRONIC DISEASE  (like rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes,  hypothyroidism, FIBROMYALGIA, LYMPHEDEMA, LIPEDEMA or LUPUS), cancer. pregnancy or surgery.

The traditional/allopathic medical community now acknowledges that chronic pain and chronic swelling comes from damages to the body's lymphatic system. Many people aren't obese, swollen and in pain because of poor eating habits.  Many of them are struggling because of a lymphatic disease.

The body's lymphatic system is also directly tied into the  body's immune system and its ability to be resilient in the face of exposures to chronic or infectious disease, chemicals, environmental exposures, surgeries and traumatic injury; or because it was passed down through the generation.  Many people struggling with autoimmune disorders also problems with their lymphatic system.

All doctors and primary care workers, especially you, and everyone else living, should become aware of the lymphatic system, and its importance in keeping you alive and well! Most people, even skilled family doctors, physicians, emergency care workers, pane care specialist, and nurses do not know what you will learn. And they should be told!

Sylvia recently shared her thoughts about the system and its relationship to chronic pain  and swelling with Naperville TV.

What is the Lymphatic system? The lymphatic system is a network of lymph nodes, ducts and vessels. The primary function of the lymphatic system is to transport lymph, a fluid containing infection-fighting white blood cells, throughout the body. The lymph system is also the body’s main waste elimination mechanism and is a crucial component of the immune system. Unlike the circulatory system, which has the heart to pump and move blood through the body, the lymphatic system lacks such a pump to help keep the system moving freely. When the lymphatic system becomes congested due to injuries, environmental toxins, stress, sedentary lifestyle or poor diet, lymph fluid builds up in the body and can become toxic, affecting organs and setting the stage for disease.
