You could probably say that about most anything, but our ability to find and appreciate the lesson, let alone apply it, can vary a lot. And if something really bothers you, and you're impatient for the lesson, you can always find a punchline.
Finding the lessons in life's circumstances are what lead to wisdom, and some important and often truths about life can only be discovered by going through hardships
Being aware of what the lessons are also leads to growth--increasing capacity to make the best out of our lives and to face more and more diverse and challenging situations with poise, awareness, creativity and a sense of humor.
And, as I'm fond of saying, "If all else fails, take it personally."
